Can you travel to this world from Shadesmar? Would Scadrian silver hurt Shades, or must it be silver native to this world? I saw a lot of the plot twists before they happened. Honestly, my expectations were high, and they weren't met. Objectively, it was a good story, just not an amazing one. On one level I like the "hints" we get at what's going on with the world, things that let us wonder, but I'm tired of questions with no answers. Knowing this is a minor world, having no guarantee that we'll ever come back... I like Way of Kings, despite the fact that almost nothing is explained, because there's a promise that all the big stuff will, eventually, be explained. I feel like we don't have that promise here. And that's fine, not everyone's brain is wired like mine. Some people like to be tantalized, even when they don't know if they'll ever reach the goal. It simply isn't my cup of tea. Specific thoughts: How do Shades know who drew blood, who struck fire? How oddly specific their rules... Silence intended to start the fire, and Theopolis intended to draw blood, yet it was Red who held the knife; he never even decided to take the act of cutting her neck, he was literally shoved. And the fire was started by a horse; did the Shades go after the horse? The rider? By exactly what metric was the rider of that horse responsible for lighting the fire? The last human agency who decided "I will start a fire" was Silence. The last human hand to touch the fire-making tools was Silence. Was the rider "responsible" for giving the horse his own head, letting him follow the horse before it, and accidentally stepping on something that ignited a spark? I'm glad he put in the part about self-inflicted wounds not counting; I was about to say, "Then clearly no man ever shaves."

I got the impression that it's not like "Shade-in-the-box," you don't die and immediately pop up as a Shade. I figure it takes a bit. I wouldn't be surprised if off-screen, Silence stabbed him through the heart with a silver crossbow bolt, preventing him from rising as a Shade, or maybe slew his Shade as it rose from him, or heck, maybe she really did just leave the body outside to let his Shade loose. I mean hey, what's one more Shade?

Have you heard any songs from The Little Mermaid, the Musical? "I want to taste their tears, I want to hear their screams, I want that special rush you get from crushing hopes and dreams..."

Mistborn spoilers.

Do you have citation for that?

So then what does that look like in Shadesmar? I was under the impression that each "cognitive aspect" was one glass bead. Does this mean there's one glass bead which is just the naked man, but also a glass bead with is "the man plus equipment"? Does changing one automatically change the other, or is "his equipment" next to his bead and she just gave them both Stormlight? Is this glass bead somehow just a part of the massive bead of "the city of kharbranth"?

Hey! Who's the lawyer here? I've got the signed affidavits from all concerned parties that agree that the fanfic is simply a gift, freely given, just as the utter abject servitude is a likewise contractually obligated gift, freely given.

Yes.

I searched but couldn't find this topic elsewhere... I'm sure someone is about to point me to the WoB saying yea or nay, or a previous conversation but... Is Axies a Herald? Isn't he really old and doesn't death mean nothing to him? And he seems fascinated with Spren?

If Jasnah could have killed all of them at range, why did she let those two get close enough to risk being stabbed? To satisfy her own sense of justice, knowing she only killed a group guilty of directly threatening her with blades, not merely one she strongly suspected would have, given the chance?

It is really hard to be your lawyer when all y'all keep posting your criminal plans on a public forum... Still, it does give me just one domain name to deny as evidence should anything ever come to trial...

Surely they didn't start teleporting with Tia until after the Shaod was fixed...

Sorry, where did you read that metals from any Shardworld can be burned? I've had this discussion with other people and I've never heard of any attribution.

The top one gives credit to (and links to) the bottom one, giving credit. What does the symbol mean? It looks almost but not quite like lerasium... -

Mistpony I'm ashamed to say I don't know the Steel Alphabet very well... can anyone direct me to somewhere on the internet I can get a good look at what the various symbols mean, allomantically, feruchemically, and phonetically? -

And Twilight's horn is really a hemalurgic spike sticking out of her forehead? Investiture on that planet HAS to be related to cutie-marks... -
As Lady Feather's counsel, I'd like to take this opportunity to clarify that nothing said by her or on her behalf by her staff was intended as any sort of threat and is therefore inactionable.

Is there a way I go about this? It seems it will eventually get its own forum, or perhaps there'll be a forum for "short works" like there's one for "non-cosmere works", and Forests of Hell will get a sub-forum there, as eventually (presumably) would Sixth of the Dusk. Since it is out today and I'm off to read it now, I'd like to discuss it with those who have read, without worrying about spoiling for those who have not. If you're reading this and haven't read it yet, please be warned, I cannot vouch that people won't reply with spoilers. If you're reading this and HAVE read it, please put anything you write based on the text behind spoiler tags, at least until this is moved to an appropriate forum.

He uses it a lot... when I get back from B&N I'll try to find you a few dozen.
