  1. I know, I'd be like, yes! New info about surgebinding, ah never mind. Lift cut him off at all the good parts. I think Lift meeting Jasnah would be the best, or maybe Hoid/Wit. Jasnah: "Shallan, I found this theory about Voidbinders," Lift: " I have one of those. He's my pet, I captured him with words and now he does whatever I say." Jasnah's expression would be priceless.
  2. Oh that's interesting, I didn't know that. I so hope Dalinar doesn't die, but I also know that he is a prime choice for one of the standard Sanderson-main-character-death. I think real obedience is where you choose to obey, whether or not that's the true definition.
  3. Wait, what? Someone's supposed to die before their own book?! I never heard that piece of info before. He doesn't really make everyone follow the Codes. Even if he did, that's not really obedience, that's doing something to not get in trouble. He's the only one who follows the codes because they should. I do like the conflict theory, but I don't think it really has to be a requirement. I updated the poll's options.
  4. So far, on the poll, Stoneward has over double the amount of votes any of the others have and Bondsmiths have none. (you are all falling into my trap. Mwahaha.)
  5. Woah, looking at mdmilosz's chart, I realized a few of the symbols look roughly like the English letters they represent. Tin, for example, the spike and the dot resembles an "i" and turn it sideways and there's an "e". Granted, they don't all do that and some are a real stretch, but I think it's interesting. Gold and electrum, as another example, gold has two spikes and electrum has one. m and n have one and two curves, respectively.
  6. That is a very good point, 11thorderknight. It would also fit with the palindromeiness of Vorin culture.
  7. These are amazing!!! Thanks Feather, on getting these great artists to do this. Thanks Anenomeink, BotanicaXu, and ExMakina for all this great artwork. It really makes the Coppermind better!
  8. Oh, it is? That makes more sense, I thought that was weird. Well, now I'm confused. He is so perfect for too many of them.
  9. He is very obedient. He is the only one to strictly follow the Codes exactly. He lives by that. He doesn't disobey anyone directly, that I can think of.
  10. It's more the attributes rather than the powers, but I just checked and Ethrien and I made an error. The Skybreakers' attributes are learned/giving not just/confident. I just followed his list but now checking realized that just/confident are Palah's order. I think those attributes fit him well, but that even less likely in my opinion that Dalinar will have Illumination and Growth. I'm changing that one to Dustbringer with Brave/Obedient, he is very much both of those. Edit:Windrunner corrected me, the typo was in TWoK not in Ethrien's post. Sorry, Ethrien.
  11. My gut says Stoneward, but I can also see Skybreaker now. That does fit him quite well. I would rearrange Ethrien's list for myself. 1. Stoneward 2. Dustbringer 3. Skybreaker 4. ???? #8(possibly Bondsmith) 5. ???? #10(probably Bondsmith)
  12. Buy. She better Adolin will fight Sadeas at some point.
  13. He could have strengthened his arm, if that is the surge, which I'm not entirely convinced of yet. A full lashing uses pressure. It pressurizes two items together.
  14. That seems different than the actual surge, but I guess my idea is too. it's also very possible the last surge was used too. Argent has said in a couple places he believes it to be strength. I'm not sure I completely agree, but it could work if you can strengthen other things.
  15. I know the air theory is very flimsy and there's no real evidence, I just think that it *might be possible. I'm not even completely convinced myself, but I like the idea.
  16. Are you sure you have to have a spren? Szeth doesn't, unless of course, there's that theory that he uses voidbinding.
  17. Unless, as it's not actually surface tension exactly, I had this idea that maybe he used it on the air right in between his armor and the claw. I don't know if that's possible, but I don't see why not. It is kind of a weird idea, but that's the only way I see him using surface tension.
  18. With the chasmfiend, I think it's very possible he used the "surface tension" or rigidity surge or possibly the unknown one.
  19. Double post, but this is my actual response to the argument. He is in conflict with being dependable. He doesn't think people should depend on him, he's not sure that he can depend on himself, the visions are really messing him up. He is also not immediately resourceful, as shown with his late attempt to join with Sadeas(that backstabber), but realizes what his best option is, eventually.
  20. So as to not hijack this thread further, I have created this thread to continue the discussion.
