UTG Revolution is a must-happen at this meeting. Maybe Lightwards's guard?

Long Game 9: The Empty Throne Part 1: The Barrow Barons
Mailliw73 replied to Alvron's topic in Sanderson Elimination
This is an alternate universe version. If they die here, I count it as completely separate from dying in Oregon. It's a lot easier to die here. Welcome, Jasnah! First things first, Steelheart is not in the cosmere. You may already know that, I just want to make sure. Milton listened to "Friend", as he called himself, trail off his speech about friendship. Milton wouldn't know anything about that. He'd never had any real friends. He was always studying and kids always teased him for being smart and for his large birthmark. Friend was someone he'd have to stay away from. He would just pretend and then end up stabbing Milton in the back and teasing him like all the others. Bullies. They deserved what had happened to them at his old school before he had moved to Newcago. -
Yes, that one's my favorite. This is my second favorite. Flashpoint, I intend for him to become sympathetic with humans, but still above them when he uses his powers more. He will become a favored general among Thoughttown's troops. And there's plans... There is this meeting that they'll both be at.

That works for me. I'm crossing my fingers for Monday, though. When do you plan to post the time periods?- 314 replies

They only affect brains, so cameras would capture the real image. I left it open for whatever. I just needed Lightwards to be there so that Altermind could have dinosaurs to spot. I just decided that they needed some more interest and Flashpoint was a good one to have longing for a relationship. FlashMare could work. Mare would need some development first, but its possible. Panapoint is probably my favorite of the options. Flash Revolution has an awesome name (of course), and could actually work on Flashpoint's side, at least. Flashpoint doesn't have as bad of an opinion of vanillas as most Epics. FlashCricket wouldn't work for reasons undisclosed.

Time skip in effect and meeting ready to begin.

Image of a knife and drink here. Intervention didn't much like Altermind. He wasn't a cruel man, though. He didn't kill for fun. That's why Intervention had joined his group and not the others. This Emperor Lightwards they were going to meet sounded much like someone that Intervention would hate. If he got a chance, he would kill Lightwards. For now though, Altermind had told him to keep the other Epics they were meeting with slightly tipsy. He had set up signals to indicate someone who needed to be more intoxicated and to show how drunk they needed to be. Intervention enjoyed intoxicating people; they were always more talkative and easier to kill. The group of Epics from Thoughttown had driven a variety of bullet bikes, ATVs, and, in Summoner and Smoky's case, a sports car. Altermind had chosen Flashpoint, Sightline, Summoner, Smoky, Mare, and Intervention to accompany him to the meeting as well as some guards. Altermind had provided mobiles with a secure link for each of the Epics. He gave some of the Epics accompanying him directions to approach the house where the meeting was taking place from different angles. Intervention and two guards were coming from the south, Sightline and pony-girl from the west, Flashpoint and the two lovebirds from the north, and Altermind from the east with the rest of the guards. Intervention could've found the house even without Altermind's directions. There was only one house with dinosaurs and vacant humans outside. Intervention parked his bike next to a dinosaur, leaned on his staff, and waited for the others to show up. Flashpoint was glad the couple had driven their Viper. That way he didn't have to talk to them as he flew. He was normally an amiable guy, but these two, Smoky in particular, we're just too touchy and flirty for Flashpoint to swallow. She'd kiss Summoner on the cheek and then lean on him and just make an overall mushy, gushy scene. Summoner didn't seem like her though. He was strong and quiet. He thought things through before he acted. Flashpoint wondered how the two had hooked up. They seemed to be quite opposite, but he saw the love in Summoner's firm eyes. He cared for Smoky, for reasons Flashpoint couldn't fathom. She was a ditzy attention seeker. Summoner was a warrior. There had to be something, something that kept them together. Flashpoint wondered what it was as he flew along side the green Viper towards the meeting place. He had never had a real girlfriend before Calamity, and after he'd been too busy to find an Epic girl. Flashpoint never had thought much about it, but seeing Smoky and Summoner, he became a little jealous of the relationship. He'd never felt love like that before. The closest he'd ever felt was a brotherhood with those soldiers who he fought with at the Southwest Gate. Altermind kept an illusion of himself ahead of the group of soldiers around him, hoping to catch any traps Lightwards may have set up. He didn't trust the professor one bit. Corpsemaker was the greater threat, and Altermind knew how to prioritize. That was the only reason he was even willing to work in conjunction with this 'Empire'. The matter manipulator, crazy as she may be, would be of use in supplying Altermind with weapons necessary for the war. He had already created a list of items he wanted fulfilled in exchange for his help fighting. His spies had reported about Corpsemaker's newest recruits. Of them all, Streetwise and Upgrade seemed the most dangerous. If there wasn't an easy way for Altermind to get Upgrade on his side, that would be top priority. Streetwise, and his ability to spy on them, was a problem too. Altermind had ideas for countering Streetwise and Quota, but Upgrade and Murphy were wild cards. Death would be necessary, most likely. He knew now why Corpsemaker had killed Scorch so quickly. He had already gained resources far surpassing Scorch's help. Altermind arrived at the house to see Intervention waiting next to his bike. Flashpoint landed next to him as a green Viper pulled up too. Mare on one of her shadow horses came galloping around the corner, and Sightline blinked steadily closer until he arrived. That was everyone. Altermind nodded and sent an illusion to open the door as he stayed a few feet back. No gunfire was heard, so Altermind led the group inside, leaving most of the human guards outside, bringing two in with him. They were to watch Funtimes and Lightwards and be ready to shoot at a moment's notice. "I'm here," Altermind said. He took a seat at the table and looked to the professor to begin.

About the skip, I'm a,ready working on a Thoughttown post that gets the to the meeting. Mail-Mi or Twi, can you send me that link again? I can't get to it for some reason.
-
He gets them all, but can push them out of his mind and concentrate on one at a time. Any radio signal in fifty yards gets transmitted to him, regardless of where he is.
-
I wonder, what would you guys rate me? I have Altermind and Electro, but then I have Max,Flashpoint, and Chi. Lightwards ca never marry Lucentia now because of the horrific consequences.
-
I don't think most of you guys keep up with the Sanderson Elimination games here, aside from Joe and I. Alvron, one of our readers has set up the latest game in the world of Steelheart here. I'm just letting you know so you can join if you want. They're a lot of fun! I'm glad to have the backstory and personality completely fleshed out for Milton, my character. It'll make it really easy to RP. (Especially if he gets the role of Illusionist. )

Long Game 9: The Empty Throne Part 1: The Barrow Barons
Mailliw73 replied to Alvron's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Oh Calamity, you know I'm signing up for this one! I already have back story and everything. Milton was a nerd. He was smart and loved it. He had no friends and was bullied a lot. He had a large birthmark that covered the left part of his neck. -
So I'm working on a post that brings Altermind to the Sadry's for the meeting. Just so you Emoire people know and can get ready too. This ones from Intervention's perspective too. So two scenes I'm involved in that I'm waiting on, just to remind you: Voidus/Fatebreaker at the zoo Vondra in the Dalles.

Summoner...hmm I can't think of anyone who he resembles. Mine too. And Parity a bit.

I think I understand the magic a lot better now. Thanks! I do have a few clarifying questions though: So, Type IIa magic is used by Shamans and Sorcerers. Shamans learn about spirits and persuade them to do their will. Sorcerer's dominate spirits and force them. Correct? Type IIb is used by Mages. They have to(?) touch a source to draw energy from it. Correct? Shamans and Sorcerers have to memorize spells to use magic, while Mages just harness energy from spirits?- 314 replies

Yeah. I don't know what to do with a walking scene besides have Edgerunner rant some more to herself about Glamour/Wilbert. If you want to set up the scene and how everything looks at HQ and then have them walk in, we could do that. Thanks. I thought that'd be fun.
-
Edgerunner post up. Kobold, do you want to do a scene next where they report to Vondra?
-
"Heya Edgey. Don't know if you got the memo yet--Command Post Tango's been hit. We've gotta check it out." Edgerunner heard Wilbert's, or Glamour, as he preferred, voice say to her. She would prefer that too, if her name was Wilbert Abners. He annoyed the sparks out of her. With those headphones on all the time, always insulting everyone. Ugh. He was just plain rude. "Heya Wilby," she responded, mimicking Glamour's tone. She made sure to use his real name as often as possible, just to annoy him back. "Let's go then." Glamour just yawned and followed behind her as he always did. Hopefully this was one of those times where he kept his mouth shut for the most part. Did she hear faint tango music coming from him? How typical. They go to Post Tango, and Glamour begins playing tango music. How cheesy. Why had Vondra assigned him to accompany her? She could take care of herself and the soldiers all hated him anyway. Even someone like Deathwish they held in higher regard. Glamour was obnoxious and unhelpful. There was no point at all for him to be around. He didn't even have very useful powers. Edgerunner would leave him in the dust right now if she knew she wouldn't be severely punished for it. The whole way to the command post, Edgerunner alternated from trying to block Glamour out of her mind and thinking about his annoying habits. He tended to throw little shimmers on things or rainbows and lights. He occasionally made a small rock invisible and Edgerunner kicked it, hurting her toe. He looked away when she turned to fix him with a glare, but she scowled and ignored it. That was the best way to deal with Glamour. Ignore him and he would get bored. Usually. Post Tango wasn't too far so they arrived fairly quickly. The building was silent and still. There was no sign of movement. That was usually a bad sign. Edgerunner and Glamour went into the building, ready to fight. Edgerunner kept one of her knives in her hand. She was poised and ready for a surprise attack. No one was on the main floor. That usually meant there were no survivors. Vondra would want them to check the entire building though. Edgerunner went over to the door that opened to the stairwell as a man stumbled out that door. She instantly crouched, ready to lunge and flip her gravity. He was a regular. She could tell. They all had a lack of pride in their eyes. "Who are you?" Edgerunner asked. Glamour cleared his throat obnoxiously and gestured towards the man's hands. Edgerunner looked and widened her eyes in surprise. The man had no hands. His arms ended in stumps at the wrist and were capped in metal. A raised mark of a slightly-unsheathed sword confirmed it for her. "Quicksilver," Edgerunner muttered with disgust. Sparks, that man was evil. He killed and robbed at his pleasure. The man nodded and began to mutter, face pale, ready to faint, "Qui-Quick. Quicksilver has a message. Assassinations displease him. V-Vondra has let his empire go to his head. Vondra is n-not the only one with power. He can keep his kingdom, but no fighting Quicksilver. Or t-there will be s-s-suffering." The man swayed and slid down the wall. Edgerunner crouched to help him. The man had one more message. "This was a lesson. Quicksilver's response won't change. Learn from your mistakes." The man's eyes rolled back into his head and he collapsed completely. He was still alive, still breathing, he just passed out. Vondra was going to be furious, Edgerunner thought. "Come on. Let's go check upstairs," she told Glamour. He seemed to be a bit in shock from seeing a man mutilated like that. "Another bites the dust. Another bites, another bites, another bites the dust." Wilbert's music played. Edgerunner rolled her eyes. Glamour's sense of theme was impeccable. Even when seeing a man almost die, he still planned his music around it. Edgerunner went up the stairs, leaving the unconscious man for when she left. She opened the door on the next floor and retched. Even she wasn't used to sights like this. Mutilated, bloody bodies covered the floor. A sea of red filled the hallways and each room. Bodies had been hacked, sliced, and cut every possible way. Quicksilver was a menace. He was undeniably powerful as well. Thirty-three good people were cut down in the hallway alone, according to Edgerunner's count. No survivors, save the metal-handed messenger. Even Glamour was silent, though his music still played. Edgerunner radioed the nearest guard to come and pick up the messenger man. He was too heavy for her or Glamour to lift. They would report to Vondra. He was not going to like this at all.
-
Fine by me. I plan to have an Edgerunner post up tonight too.
-
Either is fine with me. I thought they followed them to the cemetery and then approached. I think Max and the Reckoners would be a lot more suspicious of people who sneak into their hideout than ones who approach them before.
-
Do we want to have them meet the Reckoners before they go down into Attica or after? If the former, than one of you two should post, Kobold and Twi. If the second, than Joe can go.
-
Remington is picking Alice up. Twi began that scene and now she and Kobold are figuring out the next part. Use the pm if you have more specific questions.
-
This is just my opinion, but they don't really need to dialogue that scene, do they? I mean, if you want to, of course, go for it. I just think that it might not be worth it and it might be better to have Remington or Alice sum it up when they get to their destination.
-
When do we want ____ to join with the Black Fist? After they're in Attica or before they go down? I left it open.
-
So, I don't know if the Reckoner leaders (Rachel, Pace) would agree with this idea, but I'm imagining the Reckoners becoming a part of the Black Fist. Originally, I thought they would just work together, but it seems like the one will absorb the other.
