  1. Same for me. Oregon is time consuming, especially with the number of characters I have. I may be interested in having one or two characters here though. Once I see what this will be like, I'll decide if I'll join or not.
  2. The only thing is, the Empire is what used to be Corpsemaker's territory. It should have some more advanced stuff as well. We could say that the reason not much has been shown is that the Epics tend to stay in the MoNA, which is true. Altermind likes some of the stuff from his past, which is why his scribes use pens and paper instead of mobiles. His weaponry, which I haven't showcased much yet, will be more advanced though. Sweet! I'm excited in a dreading way. Corpsemaker will probably also be shown in his glory. I don't think any of my Epics can be classified as High Epics though, which I'm kind of bummed about. Sounds good to me.
  3. We could always start a What Happened in Astoria thread.
  4. Now I'm wishing Bloody Mary showed up in the Halloween RP with Nighthound. Will we ever see her, Edgedancer? Edit: On another note, I'm rereading Steelheart and I think we are seriously behind in our technology in Portland. David mentions armor units which sound pretty much like mech suits and they can just swipe a data chip or their mobile past another and copy the information or link the two devices. I plan, for one, to try and increase the technology that I use. I also hope we see some High Epics "in their glory" as David puts it soon. The Corpsemaker war seems like a great place for that.
  5. Sounds good to me. Go ahead with that. That's what I was thinking of when I said that. I'm quite scared of this new woman as well.
  6. I like the half-and-half plan. How about this? Those in Cycle 1 will make Lines of Warding this cycle and the others will do it next cycle while we alternate Lines of Making. Cycle 1 (The Only Joe) Joel, a Long time soldier at Nebrask (Araris Valerian) Tavi, a troublesome, but bright young man. (Alvron) Ronald, a Short man with White hair and piercing blue eyes. (AonarFaileas) Aaron, a Graduate of Académie de Montréal. (Tulir) Rlint, a Dirty Conner a Policeman. (Mailliw73) Will, a Blonde Male. (Lightsworn Panda) Jain, a new Soldier. Cycle 2 (Wyrmhero) Wyatt, a Senior Soldier (Elend'sSecondCousin) Dui, a JoSeun Immigrant who eats chalk. (Kasimir) Samuel Kessen, a man who hates the JoSeun way of life. (Gamma Fiend) Dig, a Digger. (pir2h) Chase Tearing, a Rithamantic Murderer. (Metacognition) Matt, a man seen through the eyes of others. (Twelvethrootoftwo) Tory Farth, a man who exists (Ashiok) Aaron Roddy, A Baseball Coach Edit: And, Meta, I was talking about the underlined words. It looks like a code to me.
  7. Okay. Just got back from vacation, so I'm popping on now. I don't want to start a bandwagon on Dui, but he's the only one who has yet to post. Meta, codes already? Weren't you the one discouraging setting up codes before? I think Araris's plan is a good one. I don't think we need as many as ten Warding lines, but I think seven or eight is good. Why don't we assign a random eight players to make lines of warding, which should cover any Forgotten or non-Rithmatists. What do you think? Alv because he's kandra not voted for yet. He's also been more active than normal, I think, which feels wrong to me.
  8. Sure! What do you want? Chi sells to everyone, really. Timeport would not like Altermind. Calamity is the only curse he uses. First death? O.o When is that story-wise? Nighthound hasn't been married has he?Since Upgrade is back, that means Electro is too, so any missions CM needs taken care of, He's ready for them. Max post is up. Edit: That'd be me. I'm catching up on all the posts from the last couple days and just gave out a ton of up votes...
  9. Gordon stepped forward after Max finished speaking and spoke himself, "I've already agreed to help him. But even so, you shouldn't decide until the others are back. And we also need to get out of here. CorpseMaker attacked my church, trying to kill me. And we don't know if Seth told him anything. We should probably move to Attica. Seth was new enough that he wasn't told. Actually Charles, did we ever tell you about Attica?" Attica? Some secret base, Max assumed. Charles frowned, then shook his head. Rachel looked up at that idea. "Good Idea. I'll grab as much stuff as I can carry, and load it onto the bus. Dr., can you contact the others, and tell them to meet us at Altamont Park." She came over to Max and said, "You have my vote, but the others are going to be harder to convince. They'll want an actual plan. Be prepared." Max nodded as she walked away to gather their things. Gordon stepped up, swinging his arm over Max's Shoulder. "You did good kid. You convinced me, Rachel and William. But Charles and Moses are going to be the hard ones. Good luck." He hurried after Rachel, leaving Max bristling at being called kid. He was no kid. Gordon was older than him, but that didn't make him a kid. He was well past his majority at the age of 27. He wasn't a kid at all. But Max decided to move past it. He needed to pound out a solid plan before they met up with the others. Max got into the passenger seat of the War-Wagon this time, letting Gordon drive. He had no idea where they were going and didn't want to mess it up. He needed to think anyways. Rachel rode in the back with Gordon's information folders and some of her equipment. The other Reckoners were in their bus with the rest of their belongings they took from the airport. Kyle was on Normality, a little ways ahead to scout out the area in front of the Reckoners. They arrived at a cemetery after a little time had passed and they had just left the city borders. A cemetery was not what Max had expected. A secret lab facility was what he had imagined. Maybe an old office building. Not a cemetery. "Where's the secret base?" Max asked Gordon. Gordon smiled at him, "You'll see," he said. When they got out of the War-Wagon, the Reckoners exited their bus. An older hatchback came down the road towards them. The others seemed to expect it, so it must hold the other members of the Reckoner cell. Two people got out of the car; a large African-American man with a Marines baseball cap and cargo pants with a tight black tee shirt and a woman with curly, light brown hair that reached her shoulders. The man was carrying a rifle and had two machetes sheathed at his hips. The woman carried herself with an air of confidence and only a small pistol. They approached the group and the man introduced himself, "Moses Raine, ex-marine, now close combat specialist. Who are you?" He stuck his large hand out towards Max. Max shook it and replied, "Max Kennon, leader of the Black Fist rebellion. You'll hear more about that soon." Max saw the question forming on the dark man's lips and answered it before it was asked. "What's your name?" He asked the woman. "I'm Sierra. Con-woman and researcher," she smiled and said. She was cute, Max had to admit. And happy as well. He needed some of that in his life. Ever since Mel had been killed-Mel. How could he even be looking at another woman? Mel had died just a couple days ago. "Well are you guys all the rest?" Max asked, suddenly curt. Sierra looked a bit offended and more than a bit hurt. Max felt a twinge of guilt at the hurt he caused, but he still loved Mel. He couldn't allow himself to even think of another woman. He was about to be too busy with the rebellion. "Luke and Frank haven't shown up yet. They're our information specialist and heavy weapons specialist respectively," Moses said, noticing the tension between Sierra and Max and not wanting it to go farther. "They should be here soon." As he finished his sentence, a large van drove up. Out came two men. One was a tall, lanky Asian man in a nondescript tee shirt and jeans. The other wore a tight tank top that had obviously been a regular shirt, at some point, but had now had the sleeves ripped off. Max was pretty sure that the shirt was intentionally a size too small, so as to show off the man's large muscles. Mr. Tank Top, whom Max assumed was Frank, carried out a large machine gun, complete with a fancy scope and camera, to record footage from the scope. Frank also had an assault rifle slung over his shoulder. He grinned as he approached the group and yelled a loud, "Hey!" He brushed past Sierra, purposely flexing his large biceps as it nudged her arm. She shook her head at him with a small grin. "I'm not going to feel your muscles, Frank," she said jokingly. Frank pretended to be hurt and went over to Pace to report something. While Frank hadn't said anything to Max, and probably hadn't noticed him at all, the other guy, Luke, approached him immediately. "Why are you here?" Moses wanted to avoid more tension, so he again intervened for Max. "Luke, this is Max Kennon. He's here to talk to us about some type of rebellion. As soon as we go to wherever this safe house is, he'll tell us about it." Max nodded and shook Luke's hand, "Nice to meet you." Luke moved his mobile computer to the other arm and shook Max's hand. "We'll see," he said. Max could tell that Luke was very calculating and untrusting. He seemed like someone who would need proof before he agreed to a plan like Max's.
  10. Oh good. Attica's going to be one heck of a meeting. Edit: Reminder sent.
  11. I like this plan. Particularly since TT will be helped in the process. Don't worry. I'll get her back if Altermind has to order her back at the start of the meeting, if necessary. There's that many? ... I'm not very involved then. I have a couple of Pms where I traded weaknesses, one with background for the Reckoners , and the only one with a plan: the one with plans for the Corpsemaker war. As long as January 6th doesn't ruin the RP, I don't see why not. I'm also voting aye on the long post. I really like those. That's cool! Twi, was that setup for Remington getting to thee you-know-who's? ;) I'm very excited for this. Now it's just Kobold's turn to do the same thing.
  12. I don't know if you saw this, so just thought I'd mention it again. Go ahead and post them going to the so and I'll respond when I can. I'll reply to that later today or tomorrow probably. I like him a a lot. So I can write for him and Edgerunner in the same post? Or do you want to control him for their time together? I think we figured out how to accomplish our goal. Joe, I sent you a pm with questions about the Reckoners. And Corpsemaker curses with the word Eyes? That's pretty creepy.
  13. As to why I've been quiet, I believe I said this in one of these threads: I'm out of town and as such, only able to get on sparingly. I'll be home Sunday night and can then become active again. Satrams, in the night thread, you said that I had a few Spikes. I'm very confused as to what you mean. I don't have any spikes, in me or being held by me. The last time I spiked anyone was when I gave Twei's power to Willa. I've been tapping and filling since then. We haven't been able to coordinate so I have no idea if any of us have spiked anyone. I am curious as to why you assume I have many spikes. My vote goes to Jain because his posts seem out of character and I am also not able to be on much yet, so there it is.
  14. When Max saw the Reckoners' faces, he was disappointed. He could tell they were going to turn him down. He thought they were better than that. He thought they would want to fight. The woman, Rachel, spoke to that exact effect. He knew it. These guys were just killing easy Epics. Charles spoke up next. “Aye lad. We could spark a Rebellion against the Epics of the City. But, that would result in the deaths of a few High Epics, and thousands of Humans. If we’re lucky. and that’s a big if. And then do you know what would happen? Another High Epic would claim this land. Already there’s a war brewing between the High Epics of the City. We’ve actually talked this over already, and we were thinking about weakening a couple of the Factions, to install a slightly more benevolent Epic as undisputed ruler of Portland. It would be better than what we have now.” Charles was on Rachel's side. The side Max knew he would have to change. That was the opinion most people in Portland had. They thought they were too weak and that the Epics were too strong. To Max's surprise, Dr. Pace jumped in. “I don’t agree. The people of Oregon are a hardy lot. Even now, they have the best Life in the world. They’ve prepared for a Worse Apocalypse then they have right now. I think they could pull it off. especially if we helped.” Max just managed to keep his mouth closed. He couldn't refrain from raising one eyebrow just slightly. Dr. Pace continued on. “Do you know who else wanted to see the People rebel against The Epics? Who else believed in them? Robert did. Robert wanted to see the land cleansed of the Epics. And now he’s been killed by one. Killed by our own Seth, who always looked down on the people.” Robert had wanted rebellion too? If only Seth hadn't killed him, Max would have more backup and someone to rely on. Dr. Pace stood beside Max as he continued, “ I’m supporting Max. And if the rest of you actually care, then you will too. We do Nothing. All we do is help a few people. Moses and Frank are out killing an Epic who’s crimes amount to knocking over a few Walls while he stole Groceries for Hippocrates's Sake! We are going to start this Revolution. If we die trying, we’ll have actually done something with ourselves, rather than just ride other Cell’s Reputations to fame.” Yes! This was a man with a heart like Max's. Someone who realized what was right and that the Reckoners weren't helping enough. The doctor glared at the other Reckoners and dared them not to join him. Max decided to back him up. "You're well informed. You've had to have heard the rumors about The Dalles. The rumors are that the common people rule. A National Guard commander keeps control of the Epics there. If that small farm town can do it, so can we. We have more people. We have the heart. People say that Portland is a city for the strange; well that's completely true. It's what makes us unique. It's why we are going to be able to succeed. We can topple the Epics and we can take back our city. My contacts are ready. They're continuing to spread the word. I just need your information and resources. Join the Black Fist rebellion. Join the people. Help us fight for our city." Max copied the doctor's stare. He defied the trio of Reckoners to reject him. He challenged them to back down and refuse to help. He could do it with just Dr. Pace and Gordon, but it'd be immensely better with the others providing their resources as well. He knew the people could do it. The Black Fist could remove the Epics.
  15. I wish I had a younger sibling who had read Steelheart. RAFO. :P He brings up a good point.
  16. Aww, it's too bad that we've already planned his death.
  17. "My name is Facade, and I think I could replicate your illusion, but I've never had an opportunity like this before. Shall we attempt it?" Facade asked. Darkest Hour shrugged his shoulders and created an illusion of a man he had seen when he first arrived here. "Go ahead and try," Darkest decided not to use his telepathic powers to scare away Facade yet. He seemed like a nice fellow. Most Epics' weaknesses were what they feared most, therefore Darkest could glean that info from them. He could only make illusions of the weakness of course, but that was usually enough to freak them out.
  18. I never thought of that. He would probably have some other name for the whole city, while a district of it, with his most intelligent and favored citizens, would be called Thoughttown or some variation of that. New Eden sounds cool! Welcome to our ranks. I feel so bad for the Black Fist because no matter how much I want Max to get the people to rebel and win, Oregon has to be destroyed.
  19. good. I thought it would be interesting. I decided that as I wrote it, and it felt right, so. welcome! Only, it's The Dalles, not Dallas. Okay. I'll keep that in mind. This is my last time on before I leave on vacation for a week. So I'll try to post when I can and if I can't, I'll email Twi to post for me. I will have email access.
  20. Lightwards, a worldhopper?! He's closer to domination than we thought.
  21. You really should. I can't explain without spoilers so i wont. thanks! Well, I imagine Freq as a very religious person pre-Calamity and after he met up with Koschei, his piety took a different turn. He believed in Koschei's divinity. I'll have to wait and see what the death scene is like, but Freq is just waiting for Koschei to come back and he believes he will. Okay, i like it. Where in the hierarchy would Edgerunner be? Thanks! I like it.
  22. Tapping last night did me no good. Nothing happened to me... Satrams, I'm voting for you. Twei is my next guess after that. I will be voting for her next day cycle if Satrams is innocent. I won't be able to get on much this next week. I'll be out of town. I'll try to get on when I can.
  23. Whistling to a little tune he made up, Frequency headed towards town. It had been a while since he had been here. When Koschei had been killed, Frequency fled and hid out in a little town nearby. He now was returning to take back what was Koschei's. Koschei was Deathless. He would return and Frequency would give him his city back. Frequency saw a flare of color shoot in the air from a part of the city. He decided not to head over there. He didn't want any trouble yet. He needed to scope out the situation first. He tapped into the guards' radio frequency in his head and listened as soldiers called for backup at Outpost Zeta. Probably where the color flare had come from. As Frequency drew near to the city, he realized that he probably wouldn't be able to get in without trouble. Guards were mounted on watchtowers and there were a lot of big guns. Why guns? Guns had a lack of flair and style. Frequency preferred dueling canes or swords to the ugliness of firearms. He heard a guard report his appearance and he knew he had been seen. He focused on the closest gun and switched the frequency he was whistling at. The gun began to quiver and then shattered. The guards began yelling over the radios and causing confusion. Frequency's head was full of chatter and yells from the guards. He pushed the voices out of his focus, but left himself tuned in so he could hear anything important. Bullets began whizzing towards him. He hated this part. It sounded awful. He began to switch frequencies quickly to match the natural frequencies of each bullet. He began clapping as well. The bullets shook from his whistling and flew past him, off course. The clapping sent shock waves in front of him. Any bullets directly in front were knocked away from the waves. Frequency's came was looped through a special loop on his suit trousers so that he could clap unhindered. On occasion, Frequency targeted the biggest gun he could see and shattered it. When he was close, he focused on the gate and while whistling louder and louder to shatter it, he clapped in different places around himself to knock bullets off their path. He broke the gate and switched back to rapid whistles to deflect bullets. He began running and knocked over guards who got in his way. His clapping helped with that too. He heard someone on the radio mention his name. Good; they remembered him. He broke the door off a nearby army vehicle and jumped in. He sped off as fast as it would go, which, compared to his regular modes of transportation, wasn't very fast. Army Hummers weren't built for speed. He headed for a different part of the city, slowing down once he was out of the immediate area of the checkpoint. He rolled down his window so he could whistle the frequency of any pursuing vehicles. Time to find a place to camp out. He switched cars once he had lost his followers and went to find his old building.
  24. Okay. I sent you a pm with a tentative post. Have you done this? If so, I'd like to see it. I think it's like Shallan. That's how I've imagined it. Something terrible happened in her past and now she shoves that part of her memory down and acts all happy and silly to ignore that it ever happened. Like Shallan. I think I found a theme song for Max. Edit: Frequency has entered the Dalles. Fate breaker, what do you think about him joining up with Quicksilver for some time?
  25. Fun. I'll have to figure out a way for Frequency to get past that. He can deflect bullets, but enough of them and it would be too hard. Would any of the checkpoints have been called to help Outpost Zeta? Okay. What did we decide it was? Early Fall?
