  2. Very true, but it's still the tagline and they still have great advice. Oh...not the Fae in the forest? Who does that line describe?
  3. Actions for next Turn: Action 1: Who: Lord Votir What: Selling a shipment of IronBows to Lord Farrsolin for Wealth. When: Action 1 Why: To foster a relationship and gain wealth. Action 3: Who: Lord Votir What: Petitioning the Canton of Hegemony for the privilege of serving as the Lord Ruler's Steward of Fadrex City. When: Action 3 Why: To serve our Lord Ruler
  4. I'm the opposite. I get close to skipping Shallan chapters(but never skip in Sanderson's novels), but love Kaladin and Dalinar both.
  5. I thought I was alone in not liking Vin, but apparently not even close.
  6. It was one of us, and if it was Mail-mi, then I at least thought it. I do remember that now. According to Google: Homeowner's Association. Maybe. Twi?
  7. ...I did?
  8. I agree with most of this. I find the interludes interesting, but none of them are my favorite characters. And Szeth's alright, but I didn't really like Eshonai much. It seems like most of the fandom is on one extreme or the other concerning Kaladin. Some, like me, adore his character, and others detest him. The same seems to go for Shallan, except that there seems to be more of a middle ground for her.
  9. Isasik Shulin is the cartographer of the maps of Roshar. But he's just based off of Isaac Stewart, Brandon's actual artist for the SA.
  10. That was my first thought too.
  11. Well the act of sex is also briefly described. Not explicitly, but just a bit. It is appropriate under the circumstances though. I mean, the character is all about sex. I haven't read Night Angel yet, so I don't know. I've only read the Lightbringer series. And I haven't heard badchull loner since my time on MBI.
  12. Well, the same applies to Rothfuss about sex. In NOTW, there is hardly anything, but in the second one, there's a certain scene where it gets much worse and then there's much more for the rest of the book. Still not too bad, but way more than the first. Rothfuss has more, I'd say. It gets slightly graphic, but Voidus or Edge could probably explain better. Weeks is actually probably about on par with this RP. There are some nude people in a few scenes and some thoughts about sex, but nothing graphic.
  13. They're quite good and definitely worth at least a try, but there is some swearing and a bit of mild sex. The first one is relatively clean and it gets worse as it progresses, but never gets to an awful level. Have you read Rothfuss?
  14. It depends on your preference really. Growing up where I did, swearing is really quite rare and so when I first read even Brandon's books, it was a bit of a difference, but I wouldn't say Weeks is too awful, but the F one is definitely frequently used. I believe that's the one Pierce Brown uses most as well.
  15. It's worse than Book Thief, that's for sure. There are subsitute swears like Storms is, but there's plenty of normal curses as well. All numbers were holy, so he revered 7 and 0...
  16. Each episode is only 15 minutes long because "you're in a hurry and they're not that smart."
  17. I recommend it, but warn that there is quite a bit more language than Brandon's writing. Probably about as much as Brent Weeks, which I think maybe only Edge has read. Well, he wouldn't have to force convert him at least. Maybe a joint rulership?
  18. It's a great podcast with awesome writing advice as well as just hilarious comments. I listen to it at work and it's a struggle sometimes to not burst out laughing, so I instead sit with a huge grin on my face. I'm currently going through the archives backwards, and I'm in the middle of Season 4. I know Edge listens to it too.
  19. I decided to try something new. But I'm back now. It's a mix of Stormblessed from Kaladin and Reaper from a book I read recently, Red Rising, and it's sequel, Golden Son, by Pierce Brown. It's a sort of dystopian sci-fi that's in the middle of YA and Adult and I really liked it. Definitely one of my favorite sci-fi novels ever. There is a language warning though. Twi, I was listening to some older Writing Excuses podcasts and in one episode, they do random worldbuilding and James Dashner came up with basically the equivalent of an evil!Financier. He obsessed over numbers and worshipped them and developed some type of nanotech that he could implant into people to make them worship numbers too.
  20. And I'm back to normal.

I highly recommend it with a language warning. I currently compared it to be about on par with the Lightbringer Series in terms of language.

I liked Lightbringer. I nearly didn't get Red Rising, as it seemed like a typical dystopian. Hopefully not.

It's more of a sci-fi than a dystopian and it's a bit of Hunger Games mixed with Ender mixed with a dash of Riordan and a whole lot of awesomeness. :P With the exception of Ender, I liked this at least twice as much as those others I just mentioned.

  21. Let's see how long this takes...

Well, it's rather obvious when you throw up a status message and the forum sends out notifications to everyone...

True. And I didn't bother with the Sig, but ah well. :P I know I confused at least a few people.
