Right now I am pretty into Ark: Survival Evolved. My wife set us a our own server and its pretty fun. Kids are excited about Stardew Valley multiplayer so have been doing that a bit to. Also thinking about getting back into Witcher 3 I still haven't completed Blood and Wine DLC.

@Khyrindor, totally understand you on the breaking science point. I feel like I have a really go suspension of disbelief reflex that allows me to get past those issues more then other nerds. I do agree it was inconsistent.

I love Steris and I definitely hope to see more of her. When it comes to tracking down a mafia type organization her skill set would be super vital. Now that Wax really knows her I think it would follow that he would see how good she could be to help the cause.

Doe anyone know if he has ever been to/is ever going to come to Hawaii? I have never seen anything thing on his site for here in the islands. I have never attended a signing or con and would love to but I am gonna be living in Hawaii for the next two and a half years.

So, maybe I am a little thick but should I read that "the greeting: 'with me too'" or some other way?

1. Captain America: Civil War- they just did a great job presenting the story, totally team Cap.

2. Avengers: Infinity war- just wow

3. Ant Man- So funny, I think it's their most underrated movie.

4. Dr Strange- Cumberbatch does a great job in the role, and the scene the the broom closet(which her reaction was real, the mop wasn't supposed to fall)

5. Guardians of the Galaxy- it's just so fun.

Thanks Archer, but I was't really looking on the how so much as the what. I am pretty good with voices I was wondering what people hear in their heads when the characters talk.

I wasn't trying to imply willpower but more the idea that a person's own intention. If your intention becomes perfectly in line with that of a Shard would that not draw the power to you? I am not sure on this but it would follow that each person has some amount of their own Investiture by virtue of their existence and if the entirety of that investiture is then committed to something via their intention. It seems logical to me that if you were to take in the investiture invested you would then have more intent that comes with the investiture of a Shard, or am I putting too much importance on the intent of a shard?

I talked about this with my wife recently. She does not like Sanderson. The main reason she cited to me was that he was boring. I was dumbfounded by this one, especially since she LOVES the WoT. I really haven't been able to reconcile this in my head. I can get on board with things like "too long" or "Too complex," but boring?

One thing I think is that people should try a couple of different books. I think that he is versatile enough that it you were to read a couple of different books anyone could find something they like by him.

So, I am going to start off a little odd but hopefully I will bring it back around and make some sense.

The Aristotelian notion of the Animus was his way of explaining things like gravity. Where a ball falls back to the ground after being thrown up because it desires to. This implies that even objects have at least some sort will. Now we all understand that this was more or less an error but I was thinking about this sort of concept and Sel.

Now Shards are a bunch of investiture with an intent. To me that seems similar to the notion of Animus for Aristotle. With a Shard having Intent, if something were to happen, as Devotion and Dominion being shattered, pieces of their investiture having scattered would have some Animus of Intent. I understand that the bulk of their investiture is in the cognitive realm, but it is still scattered and spread around on Sel. Arcanum Unbounded goes so far as to say the land may even be so invested that it has some awareness.

This brings me to Sazed pulling the power of the Shards into himself. It seems to me that in the scene where he does so that his will, or intent, allows him to take the power of the Shards and use them. Now I imagine that Sazed being able to do that would mean that it was similar for the others who took up the Shards.

Now comes my questions. If it was able to be done with a full Shard, could the same then be done with the splinter, that is to say, if you had enough intent and investiture yourself, could you take that splinter into yourself? Following that, would you be able to draw more of the Intent/investiture of the Shard to yourself if you did so? Following that could you absorb enough of the shard where its Intent or Animus seeks you out and a critical mass is achieved where you would then draw the rest of the shard into yourself and then would be Devotion or Dominion?

I hope that that is clear and would love to know if I am just reading too much into things or way off base on ideas about the nature of investiture and Intent and Shards in general.

Trying to start reading the books to my kids. I am only about 5 or so chapters in. I like to differentiate the voices for my kids and was wondering what other people would do for the voice of the various characters.

That is another tough one, I think as far as characters I would have to say Wax. I really like his struggle to figure out how his values and ways fit into this new world he is thrust into.

Ohh, that's a tough one...*goes over and looks at bookshelf*... I would have to say that The Bands of Mourning would be my favorite book, With Emperor's Soul being my favorite story(probably of all time), It brought me to tears(Happy ones). Back to books, Mistborn era two, is just a really good story, I am fan of that type of story, older man trying to figure out how he fits into this new world, feeling like his world is leaving him behind.

Hi everyone,

I have been a long time reader of Brandon Sanderson(8ish years) but haven't been into the fandom as I spent most of the time from 2012-2017 under the Atlantic ocean. I have 3 girls(Aurora, Ariel, Jasmine) and once son(Not named after a Disney character, Jacinth). I am currently in living in Oahu on shore duty with the Navy So not spending lots of time underwater. One of the coolest thing about Hawaii is that there is a huge nerd culture here, lots of cons(haven't been to enough), game stores, etc.. Unfortunately, I've only found one other person who is a huge Sanderson fan that I get to talk to semi regularly at my Adventurers league group. I guess I'm here to get a little bit more Sanderson talk in my life. Also was wondering if anyone knows if Sanderson ever gets out here to Hawaii, I haven't seen anything about it on the internet.
