    He seemed earnest in his words and despite his affiliations, Mejin found herself less at edge. "Seventeen years now," she said finally. "That's quite a while. I honestly never expected peace to last this long." Mejin flicked back a strand of hair that had fallen in front of her face. "I wonder how much longer it'll last..." she wondered softly, "all good things do come to an end, just like the bad." @Arlin

    "I remember that one. Except instead of on the frontlines I wound up searching high a low for my family," her eyes started tearing at the memory. Mejin blinked the moisture back before it became substantial. She'd cried over that failure enough and now was not the time. "Some might consider war a more pleasant alternative to attending social events. I disagree with them, but where do you stand?" @Arlin

    "I'm a little scared to find out, but what happened last time?" Mejin asked. She still watched to duel, though her eyes now wandered farther back and forth. It didn't matter to her if others knew she was wary. The fact she was somewhere where things might blow over was a big enough step for the day - anything else requiring effort would have to wait. @Arlin

    5 basic things for now: 1. Noses literally make the picture. If the face looks off, check the nose. Normally that's where the issue stems from. 2. Don't worry about proportion. As long as it looks humanoid it's fine. That's where artistic style comes in. 3. And if you do care about proportion, then use guide images to help. It's especially useful when trying to draw other positions. Just find a picture that looks close to what you're going for and use it as a mental base. 4. Back to faces: Shading is a necessity for it to look good. It's a pain that's worth it. 5. Don't forget to draw eyebrows. Actually. It does happen.

    It would definitely be an interesting read. But if it was a choice of him spending time writing that or Cosmere, the answer is pretty obvious.

    Mejin moved away from the confused man and found herself next to yet another person she didn't recognize. He loomed over her slightly, but she didn't let his height faze her as he spoke. After considering denying her identity, rushing away, Lightweaving a disguise, and coming back, Mejin decided that would be a bit excessive. Though she would have to do something. Too many people were just recognizing her on sight. And she wasn't even that conspicuous in her own opinion. "Yes, that's me. Though I haven't been one of his pupils in over a decade now," she shifted her weight, slightly uncomfortable. "I don't think we've ever both entered a situation in which we'd ever have the occassion to meet before." Her eyes shifted back to the fight, despite her best wishes. Thankfully she spotted Lei wandering and the knowledge of her Cryptic being present calmed her. @Arlin

    Pry looked away. Her stomach wasn't weak, but it felt wrong to watch the dead. Not on your conscience, Prism, she told herself. You haven't done anything but protect. Protecter, not killer, remember? The tension level was high in the room, so she kept her mouth shut. But she didn't take her eyes away from the door. There still was danger if what Damaya had said was correct and her 'mother' was still in the house. It would do them good to have someone keep looking out. After all, Pry thought, If you always expect the worst, you'll never be disappointed.

    But Le Sigh bumped backwards. There appeared to be an invisible wall preventing him from harming Jeirid or as he'd soon find out, anybody. Silva didn't feel bad doing a little god-modding - she wanted to see how things would play out if violence wasn't an option. @Le Sigh

    She looked at the man's hand and raised an eyebrow. "Someone must've fed you some false information," Mejin said. "Since I most definitely did not help out in any wars." There. That was perfect. She smiled innocently, "I'm a mostly sworn pacifist, I was out of town over the Seven Day War. But it is a pleasure to meet you." Now she shook his hand, as confusion started coming apparent in his eyes. "Shall we go out back to watch the duel?" she suggested, inwardly cringing at the concept of violence for sport. @Sorana @I think I am here.

    Wow. Impressive. I lasted a grand total of 21 hours before losing yet again. And because I'm feeling nice and generous, I won't purposefully help others lose too.

"Are you newer to Alleycity?" she asked in a futile attempt to keep conversation going. "I don't recall ever having seen you around." @Sorana
