I’m on about the same page as you Peter (no pun intended) except I’ve finished Bands of Mourning. Some advice, don’t accept any cookies unless you know they don’t have spikes.

Don’t think past the actual writing. Once you start worrying about people actually reading it, you become self-conscious and write more poorly. Just write for yourself.

Okay, so this is a little sad, but the first fantasy book I read was Ruby the Red Fairy by Daisy Meadows. Granted, I was 4 years old and it got me writing my first novel. Even now I believe my four year old self wrote a better story.

Yep. Hiding behind the pig trough had definitely been a good idea. Mejin was still alive and only slightly covered with mud, straw, and poop. But she knew now that whoever she had come for was either dead or long gone. She headed home.

Amidst the chaos Mejin had snuck out. Back against the outside wall she listened to the fight. Mejin felt bad just standing there, but what could she do? She was a pacifist. She burnt bendalloy and peeked inside. It was a mess. She resumed her former stance and rejoined the normal time stream.

Mejin ducked below the bar ledge and dropped the bubble. From her crouched position she could do what she loved most. Think. Tapping her metalminds she checked how much speed she had. Enough to get me out the door over 27 times at least. She thought. Saving up has been worth it.
