    Mejin noticed movement by the door. ”Pry?” she asked. “What are you doing here?” The girl took a deep breath. “I heard you were here. I needed to see it for myself.” ”You would have just looked through the window if that was the only reason why you came,” Mejin raised an eyebrow. “Just spill.” Pry slouched into the wall in a very Pry manner - hip leading shoulder. ”I’m not quite sure, Jin. Coming here just felt right,” Pry said. “Got any paper by any chance?” ”Here,” Mejin handed her a sheet as well as a narrow stick of charcoal. Pry took it and started to sketch. Stroke by stroke, an image of the ruins began to take shape. ”You saw them? The remains of the Root Beer Bar?” Mejin asked. ”If everyone calls me a tourist, I may as well act it.” ”True, true.” ”I’d best be going,” Pry said, rubbing her charcoal covered hands on her pants, “spray this with a fixative and it shouldn’t smudge.” She handed the picture to Mejin. ”At least wait for Devaan to return. I’m not about to just leave this picture here without any explanation - it may give the wrong impression,” Mejin said. ”Only if you agree to spar,” Pry insisted. ”Knives?” ”Nope. Dueling canes. You’re still below average with them.” ”Fine.” The two left the drawing on the table and went to the yard.

    I am unashamed to admit that I searched that reference up on Google. Note to self: Listen to song. But pardoning from life was banned so BitBitio and Draco were the ones under the ice. To be clear, it was not a moon.

    Pry turned the corner and stepped onto the cracked cobblestone of the once populated street. She herself had never seen Alleycity before the war, but she had been told it was quite glorious. If one can call a mess of alleys glorious. Pry’s leather boots crunched on broken glass. She could see where root beer had been absorbed into the cracks. Nasty. she thought. No wonder no one’s bothered rebuilding it. She took a mental picture of the ruins, so she’d be able to sketch them later. Nothing adds more color to a collection than musty ruins of a bar. Pry then continued on her way and left the alley, going wherever felt right.

    You didn’t answer my question. Which shoe do you put on first? But ‘how do you put on your shoes?’ is also interesting. Also, what is the fourth word in the last paragraph of page 119 in Elantris? (Hint: it’s in chapter 9)

    What is the meaning of life? What is the purpose of life? What color are your socks? Which shoe do you put on first? Which shoe do you tie first? What brand toothpaste do you use? Which shoe do you take off first? What other shoe related questions can I ask? Why did my autocorrect originally write relationships instead of related? Why am I still writing questions? Are you even going to answer them all?
