  1. Rithmatist:
  2. Pry wasn’t too far from a group of three talking. “...actual combat somewhere in Scadrial. Apparently, the person that runs it is a veteran, my Master even heard rumors that he was around for the war all those years ago,” one was saying. Another responded, but Pry missed what she said. She was tempted to get up and possibly - shock! - be social, but decided against it. No one wanted a fourth wheel. Needless to say, she did stand up. Her leg had fallen asleep, but Pry avoided the temptation to shake it. Anti-social and slightly mad was not a first impression she wanted to make. Lacking anything better to do, Pry began to polish the wood of her dueling cane. The man who’d trained had greatly disapproved of her weapon choice. “It’s a manly weapon,” he’d told her, “Not one for a pretty girl like you.” That had made her more convinced it was the right fit - it gave her a second advantage. No one would expect her to know how to wield one and no one would even suspect her to be a lefty at hand-to-hand combat. She liked having her elements of surprise.

    Hi

Hello and welcome to Shard! What's your favorite Cosmere book?
  4. They got distracted by a cow along the way.
  5. Mejin had dropped Pry off a decent walk from the Waystop, claiming “it builds character.” By the time it came into view, she was feeling tired. When she finally arrived, she was completely drained. Pry sat down on a rock outside of the building. She glanced around. There didn’t seem to be any immediate threats - unless the man with ‘call me Klasten’ written on his armor counted. No one seemed to notice her. The midday sun began to beat down on her, so Pry lowered her body temperature and let heat drain into her brass earrings. Then she pulled out her file from her bag and began to sharpen her nails to pass the time. She’d come Acute time like always, much earlier than necessary.
  6. Then Adolin vanished to the other side of the Cosmere where he saw Narrator whattheHoid because the correct reaction was given.
  7. They had also kidnapped Adolin and stuffed him in the trunk.
  8. So true. @Hood, I’d recommend just getting her a book in that type of genre she likes that you’ve also read. That gets rid of the worry she owns it, but also makes sure you know what it’s about in case she asks. And if no book like that exists, then just go for one in that happy inspirational genre and read the Sparknotes. (But actually read it when you get a chance)
  9. Is your spike in the picture closer to being a traintrack spike or a tent peg?
  10. Far away from there in Unicorntopia. The restaurant was perfectly fine.
  11. Pry glanced about. Mejin had already left. She noticed a slip of paper in her hands. I can get you there faster. It’ll take them a while to figure things out. You know where to go. It read. She chuckled softly. She’d had a feeling Mejin would end up at the Waystop, Pry just hadn’t been quite sure how. ”I’ll meet you at the Waystop,” she told Deras and Devaan, then went to meet her friend.
  12. Everyone turned to look at We. They weren’t sure why he spoke in third person.
  13. Then the Cosmere remembered they were at war and threw them out.
  14. I have a friend who has a life that you wouldn’t think actually exists in real life. She was adopted at birth along with her brother who isn’t biologically related to her. I don’t know exactly when it happened, but her parents are divorced and they split custody of the two. My friend hates her mother - she’s always telling her to be less religious and do things she doesn’t want to do. She’s fine with her dad, but she wishes she wouldn’t have to switch houses all the time and wants to stay by him. But she doesn’t know why he won’t file for full custody. Her brother is fine with their mom and isn’t nice to my friend, they’ve never been close. Most recently her parents made them switch schools and she’s miserable. She’s trying again this year to be able to do school abroad, but it doesn’t look good. To make things worse, her best friend (she considered her home her second home after her dad) just moved out of country. And all of this weighs down on me and my other friends. It’s hard. Not on the same level as other people’s problems, but it still hurts to see her this way.
  15. When you come on to Shard after your weekly 25 hours off, see 29 notifications and wonder if something traumatic happened in the Alleyverse.
  16. The Grandmaster then was hit in the head with a banana.
  17. They just weren’t sweet enough or juicy enough.
  18. I’ll send the link to you all. Be warned, I haven’t done any editing-this is my work at its worst.
  19. Except he couldn’t manage to create the Fart. So he ate some beans.
