“That would be awesome,” Dan said. Going on a vacation would be awesome, but going here was more like a vacation than going back to the ocean for the billionth time. Admittedly, seeing Shae’s face when he realized how big the ocean was would be worth it. @ShadowLord_Lith

Dan snatched and fish and ate half of it in a bite. “Yes, I like raw fish. I actually thought rabbits and rats were disgusting when I first came to the mainland.” He ate the other half. @ShadowLord_Lith

Dan eyed the raw fish Shae had. “Are those for me, or...?” @ShadowLord_Lith

“I’ll go sit down,” Dan said. “Get me something if you think I’ll like it.” He walked over and sat down at a table near a window. @ShadowLord_Lith

Dan blushed at Shae’s first comment. “I don’t know, it’s just that, I mean, I carry you around all the time.” I wonder what’s for breakfast? “Only one way to find out, right?” Dan walked into the building. @ShadowLord_Lith

“Yeah,” Dan said, finished off the rabbit. He opened his mouth to ask Shae if he wanted the rest, but stopped himself and stood back up. He picked Shae up, and flew back down to the dorms, at the door nearest to the mess hall, and set Shae back down. @ShadowLord_Lith

“A few years,” Dan said, “and a lot of broken wings. My ma always said it’d me all the ladies. Which it never did, but it’s fun and cool, so I do it anyway. Also, it gets me food easily.” He looked up at Shae and smiled as he licked blood off of his face. “The look on your face...” He trailed off, realizing why Shae had that look on his face. “Oh, sorry, am I being disgusting? I just wanted to have breakfast... have you eaten yet?” @ShadowLord_Lith

No. But I was metaphorically looking at Ark, since he had other responsibilities and couldn't respond as fast as I would've liked.

"Yeah, you wouldn't believe how many times I fell on my face or broke a wing figuring out how to do that," Dan said, fondly remembering the days when he caught flying fish in the sea, occasionally falling into the water and becoming a swimming bird. "I'll admit, though, it's pretty awesome when you actually know how to do it right." He remembered that Shae couldn't eat meat raw, then blushed and took the rabbit back. "I'm sorry, that's just something Winged like to do for their boyfriends or girlfriends... catch them food. You can't eat this raw, though." He sighed, then sat down and dug into the rabbit's belly with his teeth, eating its still-hot guts, which his father had always said was the most nutritious part of an animal. @ShadowLord_Lith

"Nah, it's a movie from earth. We should watch it sometime." He paused. "Okay, just watch me." He flew up to the tower of the Cathedral and set Shae down on top of it. "Turn on your tin and watch me." Dan took off into the sky and circled above the Complex, then winged over to the fields beyond and watched the ground with his enhanced eyes until he saw a flicker of movement. A rabbit. He positioned himself, then folded in his wings and dove for a minute at a high speed, opening his wings just soon enough to give him a decent amount of lift. He grabbed the rabbit and dug his claws into it, then transferred it to his mouth and landed on the ground in a roll, shaking the rabbit until he heard its spine break. He smiled in satisfaction through his mouthful of rabbit blood, then flew back up to the tower and held out the rabbit towards Shae. @ShadowLord_Lith

Dan caught Shae, bending his knees into the momentum so that the impact wasn’t too jarring. He was on one knee by the end, and thought of a line from a movie immediately. “Hey, princess. I think that’s what the giant says to Buttercup when she jumps out from the window at the end of Princess Bride, right?” He stood back up and said, “Allow me to clarify. I meant, I’ll show you how to dog-hawk hunt. It’s pretty interesting.” @ShadowLord_Lith

“Great!” Dan said, and stood up again, hugging Shae for a short moment, then walking over to the window and jumping out. @ShadowLord_Lith

Seeing Shae’s neck kind of made Dan want to play-bite him, but it also made him uncomfortable. He’s showing submissiveness. That ain’t right. Dan was probably an alpha dog... and there weren’t ever two alpha males in a pack, but still, every dog was equally as important to the survival of the pack. But Dan wasn’t that much of a dog. It’s about balance, his mother’s voice echoed in his head, you love her and she loves you just as much. One of you will usually take a leadership role, but neither should ever feel inferior. You’re equals in this arrangement. Act like it. He let go of Shae and sat back on Shae’s bed, making Shae a few inches taller. “I was thinking I could show you how to hunt.” @ShadowLord_Lith

“If you don’t want to,” Dan said, “then we won’t. I just kind of got used to having a lusty boyfriend. It’s not a big deal.” He wrapped his arms around Shae’s shoulders. “So... you want to go do something?” @ShadowLord_Lith

“I’ll keep it,” Dan said, “but I still say that you’re more attractive in real life.” He almost blushed on reflex when he said that, but realized with a shock that he was now dating Shae and could get away with saying gay stuff to him. “Way more attractive, and I’d still pay quite a bit, by the way.” @ShadowLord_Lith

Dan kept kissing Shae for a moment or a minute. It felt really good, but then Dan’s back started to hurt, so he pulled away and said, “So, uh, could you get down? This would be a lot easier if we were both sitting...” @ShadowLord_Lith

Dan kissed Shae. Welp. That whole shindig went better than expected. @ShadowLord_Lith

“Oh. Uh, is that a question? If it is, yes, I’d love nothing more than to be your boyfriend.” Shae’s face was so close... @ShadowLord_Lith

I was not expecting this. Holy begeezes. Dan pulled his head away, then said, “So this means that you’re gay, right?” @ShadowLord_Lith

Okayokayokayokay, if that was on accident, then I’m a human. Shae was kissing him. Right now. On purpose. So... Dan wrapped his arms around Shae kissed back. It felt kind of weird, but to hell with weirdness at this point. @ShadowLord_Lith

Dan walked over to Shae, consciously focusing on not looking back at the painting. @ShadowLord_Lith

Dan was mostly eyeing the muscles on the painting, but when he heard Shae speak he looked over at him and said, “Okay.” He resisted the nagging temptation to look at the painting. @ShadowLord_Lith

“Politely disagreed,” Dan said quietly. @ShadowLord_Lith

Dan picked up the indicated Stamp, and, not knowing what it would do, stamped the corner of the painting with it. The painting changed. Dan started involuntarily drooling. “Haaaa,” he mumbled as he looked at it. “Okay, I’ll pay ten times more,” he barely managed to force out of his mouth. Well, if he looks like that... @ShadowLord_Lith
