"Well, that's good," Dan said, though he did think Shae was quite attractive. "Because, I mean, you're pretty and all, but you're mostly just an amazing person." That was pretty much an ideal description of the situation. @ShadowLord_Lith

HE doesn't deserve ME? That makes literally no sense. "Yes, I really do love you," Dan assured, "and if you don't think you deserve me, then you have a twisted perception of your own worth, because you are awesome and probably the most awesome person I know." He hugged Shae lightly, making sh noises and trying to calm Shae down. @ShadowLord_Lith

Great. Now he's trying to avoid his problems by distracting himself. Dan fell onto his back. Of course, having your problems shoved in your face all the time wouldn't be a great way to deal with them either. So... he could probably enjoy what was happening now. He kissed Shae back and wrapped his arms around his boyfriend. @ShadowLord_Lith

Hearing Shae cry hurt Dan's heart, and hearing his story hurt him even more. "Everything is fine now, though," Dan said. "I'll make it better for you." @ShadowLord_Lith

Dan got strangely mad at basically the whole world except Shae for it doing that to Shae. "The time I brought up what the scariest thing that had ever happened to you, this is what you were thinking about," he said, then noticed that Shae looked like the island's TV that one time it had started raining and they had left the TV outside. "You okay?" he asked, then remembered what had worked last time and hugged Shae tightly. "You're alright, I'm here." @ShadowLord_Lith

Dan licked the side of Shae's face when he saw that Shae was distressed. I really am a dog, aren't I. And... has someone kidnapped him before? Why would they ever do that, and I wonder if he'd tell me if he knows where they are so I can ki-- or maybe just get them arrested. "I'm cool with all of that," Dan said, then paused. "If you want to tell me what's bothering you, I swear I won't judge you or pity you or whatever." @ShadowLord_Lith

"Yeah, I wasn't doing anything that day." Dan really didn't like having a lot of free time, but apparently nobody's roof or floors needed fixing that day, and nobody had needed help out in the farms surrounding the Complex. "So... what about you?" @ShadowLord_Lith

"For me," Dan said, relaxing when Shae leaned on him, and remaining mostly relaxed when he sat back a little, "you absolutely cannot interrupt my schedule for any reason less than an emergency, and yes, the schedule has been changed to have plenty of time for you. Also, don't give me any presents unless it's a real occasion." @ShadowLord_Lith

Dan glared at one of his down feathers that was on his nest. I'm such an idiot. 'Hi, I met you a month ago, want to get married in the future?' ARGH. "One of the guys I knew from Valnore always drilled it into me to think about that, you know, so that we can determine what we want out of it. Apparently he messed his relationship up pretty bad because he proposed to a girl who didn't want to get married. That would just be really, awkward, y'know." @ShadowLord_Lith

"I regret pretty much every decision I make the moment after I make it," Dan said, then quickly added, "except for saying yes to you. I don't regret that. Also, could you come sit over here? It's a little weird talking to someone who's standing up." @ShadowLord_Lith

"Like, if I screw something up and get mad at you for no reason, then break up with you and later come up with nonsensical reasons to tell people about why I broke up with you," Dan muttered quickly. "Just... this is kinda weird to say already, but I love you," his heart seemed to start beating faster as he said that, "and I really want us to be us for, as you said, as long as possible." @ShadowLord_Lith
