“Holy ten gods,” Dan growled, thumping his head back against the table. His horns hit first and jostled him. “And that hurt even more,” he said. “Sorry, I don’t mean to complain. Thanks.” @ShadowLord_Lith

Dan let go of Shae reluctantly, then relaxed. “You’re a bit too selfless, know that?” @ShadowLord_Lith

Dan rolled over when told to, then grabbed Shae’s hands before he could start and pulled Shae down, kissing him. @ShadowLord_Lith

Dan mumbled out, “I love you.” @ShadowLord_Lith

“Aaahh,” Dan breathed as his back got weird shocks of pain and no pain. It felt wonderful, and he didn’t even know why. @ShadowLord_Lith

“Why’re you,” Dan started to say when Shae poured something on his back, then melted when Shae started massaging him. “Okay, I owe you big-time for this,” Dan said, his tongue falling out of his mouth and his ears relaxing down. He felt like he was wagging his tail, but he didn’t have one. He moved his wings out of the way of Shae’s hands, because oil didn’t mix well with his feathers. @ShadowLord_Lith

Dan did as Shae asked, not understanding the implication but still curious. @ShadowLord_Lith

“I’m only dying on the inside, thank you,” Dan said, helping Shae clean up the rest of the stuff. “So, are you going to work on something, or something?” *** Several of the kids saw Dan kiss Shae and gasped, then promptly fled the room, talking about it amongst themselves. @ShadowLord_Lith

When class ended, and maybe half of the students were out of the classroom, Dan walked over to Shae and kissed him on the side of his face. “How’s it going?” @ShadowLord_Lith

Dan came back from the farm twenty minutes before the class ended, his back hurting almost as much as that one time a leopard had pounced on him. He dropped in through the skylight, closing it since it was now raining, and walked over to a table, giving pointers like he did this sort of thing all the time, and like he totally hadn’t just dropped in through the skylight. He did have seven little sisters, after all, and had practically raised all of them himself, along with a few other kids he wasn’t related to. @ShadowLord_Lith

The kids did as he asked, now afraid to mess with a teacher who could literally Tom Cruise-it into the classroom. *** Dan went to go and help out at a resident’s farm. @ShadowLord_Lith

The kids all stared at him for a minute, shocked.

“Okay, then, hold on,” Dan said, picking Shae up despite the pain in his arms, and jumping off the roof, catching the wind under his wings and flying to the school. He landed in the right spot, kicked the skylight open, then dropped Shae inside while saying, “Love you, see ya later.” @ShadowLord_Lith

“I think you can make it if I drop you through the skylight,” Dan said with an almost-feral grin. @ShadowLord_Lith

“I heard that you have to go and teach a class or something, actually,” Dan pointed out, smiling at the sky. @ShadowLord_Lith

“Not if you don’t want to,” Dan said. “Your weight is small enough that it’s kind of comfortable, actually.” @ShadowLord_Lith

“We’ll see about that,” Dan muttered. “And, if this is normal in your opinion, then it’s cold with me. Cold is like saying cool, if you were wondering. Also, you’re fond of me? Yaaaay. That wasn’t supposed to sound sarcastic, sorry.” @ShadowLord_Lith

Yes. “A little bit, but I’ll get used to it. Besides, you’re not that much older than me. Uh, does it bother you?” @ShadowLord_Lith

“Dating a guy who acts younger than me but is actually older is just new,” Dan said. It was more weird than new, honestly, but he’d get used to it. @ShadowLord_Lith

“Seventeen,” Dan mumbled quietly. Well... I mean... isn’t Dusk eight years older than Wereci? Almost three years don’t matter much in comparison to that, right? He didn’t know why he cared so much how old Shae was, but seriously the guy acted younger than that. @ShadowLord_Lith

Dan made a shrugging face again. “Just wondering, since it’s late summer right now... so we can celebrate in a month or something. Say, how old are you?” He was guessing sixteen or seventeen, maybe eighteen. @ShadowLord_Lith

“Like I always act,” Dan said, “but maybe a little happier. Wait, when’s your birthday?” @ShadowLord_Lith

Dan tried to shrug, then just made a ‘I don’t know’ face. “I guess they just make you look tougher. I don’t like soft, pampered guys. You’ve been beaten up before, and I think it makes you a stronger person.” @ShadowLord_Lith

“Yup,” Dan said. @ShadowLord_Lith

“In which case,” Dan said carefully, “then yes, I do like it when you’re shirtless.” He hugged Shae back. @ShadowLord_Lith
