“Okay,” Dan said, then brought Shae over to the gym building and started. He noticed, several times, that Shae did now have bigger muscles, and he didn’t have to work as hard. He certainly thought that that was sexy, at any rate. When they were done, Dan brought Shae over to the recreational field. “Okay, try me.” @ShadowLord_Lith

“I mean, yes, but you’re attractive when you are,” Dan said, getting the meaning that Shae had not, but also knowing that Shae probably hadn’t got it. @ShadowLord_Lith

The first idea that came to Dan’s mind had required a different time of day and Shae’s permission, neither of which he’d get for a while yet. “Ooh, right, we could go work out.” @ShadowLord_Lith

“Okay, that’s good with me, but it’s too early. I refuse to get drunk any earlier than eight.” @ShadowLord_Lith

“Remember that one time when we got drunk? I thought that was fun.” Shae had been even cuter when he was like that, honestly. @ShadowLord_Lith

“Yes, you’re very cute,” Dan said. He didn’t think he acted that old. “Since it’s your birthday, kinda, want to go do something?” @ShadowLord_Lith

“Yeah, that means that you’re now three years older than me,” Dan pointed out. “I’m dating an old man.” @ShadowLord_Lith

Dan licked Shae’s face, then remembered what he was doing and kissed him. “I saw a few yellow leaves today,” Dan noted after a moment. @ShadowLord_Lith

“That’s really good,” Dan said. Who? He finished eating the rabbit, then went over to a sink and washed his mouth out. “Happy now?” he asked as he walked over to Shae. @ShadowLord_Lith

“What is it?” Dan asked, leaning over and wiping his mouth with the back of his arm, then licking his arm. @ShadowLord_Lith

“Good, you?” Dan said, sitting down on a table and tearing into the rabbit, making sure that blood didn’t get anywhere it wasn’t supposed to be. @ShadowLord_Lith

Dan shook his wings out and stood up. He been had sleeping in his nest without Shae, which was more comfortable, but also more cold. Shae liked sleeping with Dan, though, so he did whenever he could. He had guard duty for the first five hours of the day. He did the shift, then caught a rabbit, and went into Shae’s classroom through the skylight. @ShadowLord_Lith

Dan put one of his wings around Shae and fell asleep. Shae’s warmth seemed just right, for some reason. @ShadowLord_Lith

Dan thumped down on his stomach, the bed feeling really weirdly comfortable. “I’ll be your giant puppy if it makes you happy,” Dan said to Shae, closing his eyes. @ShadowLord_Lith

“So today has been interesting,” Dan said quietly, hugging Shae until he calmed down, then licking his face to clean up the tears. “You ready to sleep now?” @ShadowLord_Lith

“I mean, I could bring you to a Perpendicularity or hire an Elsecaller to take you to where you’re from,” Dan explained. How had Shae not known that? @ShadowLord_Lith

Not growing up with a big huge sprawling family sounded so... lonely. “I’m sorry,” he said to Shae. “That sounds like it sucks,” Dan said honestly. He hugged Shae for a moment, then realized something and said, “You could see them again if you wanted to, you know.” @ShadowLord_Lith

“I realize,” Dan said after a moment, “that most families have one mother and father, but I had two fathers and three mothers, so I saw a lot of making out and stuff. Admittedly, my blood parents wouldn’t speak to each other when I last saw them, but they were getting along with some of their other lovers, so it was still good. Even if I had to take care of all my sisters myself.” @ShadowLord_Lith

“My ma was pretty good at it,” Dan said, “and she demonstrated it a lot on my dad, and other guys. I’ve seen a lot, and practiced some of it. Like that kiss, but that was pretty basic.” @ShadowLord_Lith

“Oh, you can doubt me,” Dan said. “Just don’t doubt me when I’m talking about intimate things, like kissing. I have experience.” @ShadowLord_Lith

“That’s what I meant,” Dan mumbled into Shae’s ear, pulling slightly away. Then he moved a little further and said, louder, “Goosebumps, right? Weird things in your chest?” @ShadowLord_Lith

That was a pretty violent reaction, Dan thought as he felt Shae tremble. He moved his head again and kissed the side of Shae’s face in the same way. @ShadowLord_Lith

“Yeah, I know,” Dan said. “Here, let me give an example of how weird kisses can feel.” He put his hands on Shae’s shoulders, then moved his head and kissed the side of Shae’s neck with his mouth open. @ShadowLord_Lith

Dan coughed. “Yes, that is generally an effect, though I’ve seen some more interesting results. I once got laid just because I kissed a guy.” @ShadowLord_Lith
