  1. I've been thinking about this for a while. In ancient times, each highprince had a specialization and authority over a certain field. This was to make sure they work together. We know 4 of those fields (Information, Commerce, War, and Works), but each one has a surprisingly large amount of power. Information has control of the justice system and investigations, Commerce has control all merchants and trade routes, War has complete military authority, and Works has control of infrastructure, civil services, and potentially stormlight management. With all this power given to just 4 highprinces, and with 6 more we don't even know about, it got me thinking: what is there left for the king? We know Gavilar was a powerful king, but that's probably because he didn't give specializations to any of the highprinces. The only authorities I could think of for the knight would be assigning these specializations and declaring war on nation and then handing military power to the Highprince of War. So maybe the position of King is simply a puppet position used to give the people a symbol of unity while the highprinces continue to be kings of their own princedoms without anyone above them.
  2. Oh that's dark. Oh that's even more dark! I didnt come here to hear about parents being left behind and be sad. My mind is blanking. Who is our second favorite herdazian?
  3. Dalinar is called the Blackthorn because in the first flashback, Teleb hit home with 2 black arrows, and Dalinar left them in him. It looked like he had 2 black thorns in him
  4. As a self-proclaimed Stoneward, I can see Kadash joining the Order considering how passionately he stays true to Vorinism and spars Dalinar over it. Though I dont like him personally, I'd understand if he joined. I like that theme, but I dont like the name. It should be more subtle like how Highspren or Cultivationspren dont make it obvious that they're attracted to obeying laws and remembering others. Correct me if I'm wrong, but arent the Stoneward spren the ones we saw in Shadesmar that look like cracked rock with a light in them? Maybe Earthspren? I'm not that good with names. @Turtle373 Right? Brandon described their powers as what if the whole world was clay to you and you could mold anything. That seems pretty awsome to me
  5. I think this is very cool, but a shard held by ten people would be more conflicted about what to do than Harmony. They wouldnt get anything done because, like you said, they would be in conflict with each other
  6. In the WoK, in the chapter where Dalinar prepares to talk to Jasnah through spanreed, he wonders to himself if Jasnah was still in Tukar. What was Jasnah doing in Tukar? Did she know that the God-Priest Tezim was actually Ishar? Is she secretly working with him? Probably not. It's probably just a reference thrown in to help with world building. But it would be cool if something did happen there
  7. Oh I didnt mean that it felt unnatural. I was trying to say that it happened naturally, so I never noticed that there was a shift. When I did, it shocked me
  8. One thing I just noticed was the "shift in scale of their problems" (i dont know how to phrase it right) in Stormlight so far. Basically what i mean is that in WoK and WoR, Sadeas was the threat that every character focused on. Even as the reader, I kept thinking about Dalinar's political plans and how those clashed with Sadeas'. It seemed like the most important conflict occurring in the book. Then, Oathbringer came and the conflict shifted from political strife in a kingdom to a GOD is going destroy the world and all countries must unite to fight it. It made every problem with Sadeas seem so small and stupid. Somehow I went from "Oh man what's Sadeas planning and how can Dalinar counter it?" to "Please go away Ialai. Nobody cares that you object. We've got real problems to deal with." Somehow I never realized that I had made this transition until I reread WoK after OB and kept thinking how trivial Sadeas seemed when compared to the crem we've got to deal with now Edit: How can I delete this? I don't know how this posted twice

  10. So you always need the gem in the blade right? Does it have to be infused?
  11. Wait so what was the purpose of the gem in the shardblades again? That conversation in the books always confused me
  12. I like this theory, but in a world where there is no change, how could it be possible for people to group up and cause a change such as killing a god?
  13. Ok I might be crazy, but I feel like there was a wob that confirmed this Edit: Did some light wob hunting, and I think I'm just crazy
  14. I've never liked the theory that eventually someone (maybe Hoid) will get all the Shards and remake Adonalsium. Even though it makes sense and there's a lot of evidence for it, I really hope the story doesnt go in that direction. In my opinion, it seems kind of cliche and obvious, and obvious is not a Sanderson-like quality. I dont really know what I want the ending of the cosmere to be like. As long as no one Splinters Sazed, I'm fine. How do you guys think the Cosmere should end?
  15. Wow that makes a lot of sense. I always thought he did it the way @gloriousGlorfindel said
  16. Well hemalurgy works by ripping off a piece of someone's Spirit Web and grafting it on to someone else's Web. So I dont see why you couldnt retransfer it, but if you keep transferring it, the investiture will eventually become unusable
  17. Yeah it's almost as if Bridge Four had taken over their bodies liked the Fused did
  18. In the newest shardcast they talk about how Honor goes into the Spiritual Realm to watch anime (because time doesn't matter there) and that got me thinking... Honor: "I cannot see the future completely. Cultivation, she is better at it than I." *slams his fists on the table* Honor: "And she keeps threatening to spoil the ending of Bleach for me!"
  19. 289. Before going on an adventure, always learn about the geography and culture of land. Too many people die from getting lost in cursed woods or wandering into cursed woods because they didnt know it was cursed
  20. Always nice to see a fellow Zelda fan in the forums! Have you read any other cosmere books?
  21. What if Hoid has already made soul stamps for himself? It certainly would help with his disguises, and I bet Houd could figure out ways to combine it with his other types of investiture to make even better results.
  22. How the Orders eat breakfast Windrunner: Skips breakfast. Who has time to eat when there are people in danger? Skybreaker: Military rations. No need for anything fancy. Dustbringer: Probably wakes up at noon and buys from the McDonald's all day breakfast menu. Edgedancer: Eats whatever, and then makes extra meals to give to the homeless. Truthwatcher: Creates a healthy, nutritious meal everday Lightweaver: Would make something that looks delicious even if its not that healthy Elsecaller: Grabs some fruit and goes to wherever they need to go. Willshaper: Tries something new everyday. Stonewards: Eats two sunny side up eggs, one piece of toast, and three bacon strips everyday. No change. Bondsmith: Creates a bunch of different meals for everybody to enjoy.
  23. Congrats on the win @Toaster Retribution! It was a good game!
  24. Susebron as Odium would be the worst as in he would be consumed with hatred, but since he has the brain of a child, the worst he could think of would probably be like pushing them to the ground. Any of the 5 Scholars would be terrifying as Dominion, and especially Ambition considering what they did in their life. I bet Cultivation would be a good fit for them too but that's not worst case scenario
