I am not sure. As far as I understand this, not everything has a spren, although people on Roshar tend to believe this is the case. Those beads in Shadesmar are not spren, right? They are souls of objects, some kind of manifestations of physical objects; whereas spren are ideas given life (could some Cosmere expert please explain this in more detail, I'm not up to the task). I expect the bead of one of the statues to have about as much mental capacity to speak as Stick (::insertstickjokehere::).

Yes. You have to read Oathbringer soon and then join the discussion here in full. Otherwise spoilers are a big risk. Btw. If you did not spot the above mentioned character, no worries. I didn't make the connection on my first go neither.
-
Yes, he is on Braize. But Braize is part of the Rosharan system and he is clearly invested in Roshar (the Fused, the Voidspren, the Unmade).
-
Wisdom might very well be a Shard. I thought I read a WoB about that, but could only find that one (guess I read a discussion and not a WoB): However, I don't think that another Shard is invested in the Rosharan System than Honor, Odium, and Cultivation:

I guess she fled. If she is still close enough nearby to observe, Shallan would feel her presence. She might be hiding in one of the caverns, if she is still licking her wounds. But I guess we still don't know enough about the Unmade to understand how they really operate. Does Odium give them direct commands? They must have at least a certain amount of free will as otherwise Sja-Anat could not act as she does...

She definitely identified Cryptics given her familiarity with Pattern. She could have mistaken Honorspren for windspren. Ahhhrg. Now I want to go and explore this hall myself... *pullinghairdesperately*

I also just thought the woman in the shape of a tree would be Cultivation as in Dalinar's visit to the valley, she was described as a woman who's clothing seem to meld with the plants of the forest. The Nightwatcher, on the other hand, was seen asdark mist. But I have never considered the cloud, which seems to depict the Stormfather and not Honor. My bad.. But well.. Incredibly vague indeed Edit: One more question. If the Bondsmith Spren are on the artwork of the walls, why are there ten Spren depicted on other murals?

@Kon-Tiki sorry for the misunderstanding.

This. I didn't see why Ishar, Binder of Gods, Founder of the Oathpact shouldn't get a second, more central picture.
-
I always thought the figure with outstretched arms in front of a blue disc would be Ishar as seen here https://www.tor.com/2017/10/26/revealed-the-full-endpapers-from-brandon-sandersons-oathbringer/

This. Except he does not deserve to die. To damnation (Braize) with him!

Question about the Diagram, Dalinar, and Taravangian.
equinox replied to Dalakaar's topic in Stormlight Archive
You are referring to this scene, right?: Also.. Regarding Mr. T creating the Diagram.. @HSuperLee even though Odium said that the Diagram was created without access to Fortune and the SR, does not mean he is right - at least it is a valid theory according to this WoB: -
No, you are not. Am I the only one being disturbed by the "Who do you most want dead?" thread?
-
Realism did not seem to be the goal regarding Shallan's disorder: But I get what you mean @Eris

I guess I still think of Shallan and Adolin's wedding as an arranged marriage (not the "prince (charming) gets girl trope"). That's why I am OK with them quickly moving forward. I know, circumstances have changed. Shallan is in a much better position to help her brothers even without marrying into house Kholin, but her reasons to go through with it have not changed that much. Whether their feelings for each other are true or not, I don't mind. I think they like like and appreciate each other and there is potential that they will get to love each other. Kaladin on the other hand... They shared a moment in the chasms. True. But two main characters in love? Please no. Also, Kaladin might or might not be good for Shallan, but I strongly believe she's not good for him. I think Kaladin deserves a less complicated relationship. As Brandon said.. Maybe fourth time is a charm?

This. And I loved this scene even more in my firs reread after I realized it was foreshadowed in an epigraph. Dalinar's scene in Oathbringer was great. But the whole avalanche was somehow too long and too fractured (so many POVs only having a few lines at a time) for me.

My coping mechanism while waiting for Stormlight 4
equinox replied to Mailnaise's topic in Stormlight Archive
Isn't it possible to deduce the color from the focus character due to the associated gems? Kaladin-Windrunner-Sapphire-blue, Shallan-Lightwaver-Garnet-red, Dalinar-Bondsmith-Heliodor-yellow, Venli-Willshaper-Amethyst-purple??...- 25 replies

I think Oathbringer is not as good as WoR. But it is still one of the best books I read in a long time. I highly encourage you to read on! The story starts slow, but it will knock you off your socks soon enough :-) Also. I get how you want to skip Shallan's chapters. Unlike others, who find her outright annoying, I find her interesting as a character. But I just don't like being in her head. I usually try skipping her chapters in rereads, but then I remember that I would miss too many really good scenes, so I only skip the swooney Shadolin stuff

What @Kon-Tikin said. I guess comparing the time it took to outline book 4 to outlining book 3 is not suitable. We will know whether Brandon Sanderson will keep the schedule he set for himself. But hey.. We are talking about Brandon Sanderson. Even if outlining the book takes longer than planned, I am sure that SA 4 will be published after a reasonable time. Thanks @What's a Seawolf? for posting the update. I love the transparency and openness Brandon provides for his fans. And I love his books even more.

I would very much like that!

[OB] Which death took you most by surprise?
equinox replied to dantlee's topic in Stormlight Archive
While Jezrien's death took me by surprise, I expected Elhokar to die. What surprised me was how hard it hit me. I didn't care for Elhokar much before OB (guess I'm not alone), but him being on the brink of saying the first oath trying to save his little son... *wipesawaytear* -
Regarding your fourth point @Schneeente (I like your name btw ) this WoB might help a little: It is not 100% conclusive, but chances are high that Fortune was involved somehow as his high intelligence is linked somehow to the Spiritual Realm (I am not really good at explaining these things, I am sure there are experts here that do much better): Also this: So saying that the creation of the Diagram is based purely on logical deduction allows him to get away with it. Similar as the stormwardens are "allowed" to foretell the future when predicting Highstorms.

Oh. I totally missed the glowing part. Maybe a second reread allows me to read this scene without tears blinding my eyes...

Elhokar was just starting to say the first oath. Was it really so obvious that anyone besides Kaladin who was observing the whole pitched battle scene realizing it? Did Moash pay attention in his glee to finally getting revenge? Well maybe. The castle is nothing to them, and I guess there are enough workers to spare for such a task. Still, I expected more to be found below the castle than just a single Spren. Guess I shouldn't overthink things .

But how do they know that there is a Cryptic around? Yes, I also thought the description does not fit a corrupted Spren and @RShara put an end to this theory anyways. But tearing down the whole castle to get to one single Cryptic? I just can't believe that's all to it.
