  1. Has any one noticed the art in the Arcanum Unbound in the inside cover. The star map? I think that is a hint that there is a bigger bad guy out there than odium. It has a massive knight pointing a blade at a dragon. Also, most of the stars in the dragon are red, which is a sign of interference in the investure of those stars. I think that the shards split up because this bigger force is trying to take them over. That is why they made a pact to each go to a different world and not share worlds. That would also explain why Odium is so set on killing shards that do that sort of thing, he does not want the bigger fish to get them. Perhaps that is why Rayse took up Odium in the first place, so that he could basically police the other shards. It would be a very Brandon twist to have Odium actually be a sort of good guy who is just trying to prevent the end of the universe.

  2. I highly doubt that Navani will be a Bondsmith, or any other Radiant for that matter. She is kind of the Sokka of Team Kholin, has no powers but is brilliant in her own way (Fabrials). She is also the mom of the team and a supporting character. Also, the Kholin family has an extraordinary number of Radiants in it already. Five at last count, and if the theory that Jasnah and Kaladin end up together turns out, then that would be six radiants. Add Navani and that would be seven. That is just way too much power in the hands of one family. I do not see Brandon doing something like that.

  3. Would awakening Iron taken from blood be easier than metal that has not been apart of someone? Example: A supercharged Mistborn pulls the iron from the blood of a random person, would an Awakener be able to awaken the iron pulled from the blood easier than iron that had never been apart of a living object?

  4. It is possible that Preservation snapped Kelsier. Think about, as mentioned above, Kel (Kelsier) went through massive amounts of trauma before being sent to the pits, why would that not snap him? It make sense that Preservation did the snapping. Sure, Leras may not be in his full mind, but I think that he may have left reminders to snap the psyco half-skaa who was being sent to near Ruin's perpendicularly. That brings up another point, what if Kel's connections to Ruin aided in the snapping. That would go with Preservation being five steps ahead of Ruin. He used Ruin's power of destruction against him, using it to create cracks in Kel's spiritweb, similar to how a gemcutter facets a stone. That would give him more control to break Kel's spiritweb in such a way that he became a mistborn and not something like an aluminum gnat. It might also help explain how Kel was able to hold on in the Cognitive Realm so long.

  5. I think that the Ghostblood's purpose is to deal with bigger fish than Odium. They have a collection of cosmere objects and seem to be one of the most diverse (in terms of different planets) groups. That screams that they are dealing with bigger things than a evil shard threatening one planets. It might be that a bigger bad is coming and they want to be ready. Mraize may just be their Rosharian agent/handler for people on that world or the guy they want to take over as handler for Roshar.

  6. Would it be possible that the Fakeless Immortal is a Siah Aimian? They seem to have similar abilities to a Kandra (shape shifiting) and it is not unlikely, given what we've seen, that some of them are worldhoppers. Maybe some of them have started to work for the Set.

I’ll cast the Heralds (the ones we have seen anyway):

    Taln - Winston Duke

    Nale - Idris Elba

    Jezrien - Sterling K Brown

Shalash - I don’t actually know this one yet. Maybe Lupita Nyong’o?

    Yep, that is great.

  8. My brother has found something while reading Oathbringer his first time around.

    Spoiler

In a conversation between Shallan and Wit/Hoid about his age, he mentions that he was not friends with Wisdom.

    Quote

"I am not one of those, for wisdom and I have always been at cross-purposes, and I have yet to learn the tongue in which she speaks." Hoid, Oathbringer.

Hoid never says anything without a purpose and I think this may be the shard that Brandon mentioned that just wants to survive. It would be tangential to the intent, it is wiser to hide from a stronger foe than fight it out and risk death. And wisdom seems like a likely trait for a creative force or being that would be splintered. That trait would then go and form the intent. The other evidence for this is that Hoid refers to wisdom as a she. And she might not be human given that he oes not know her language, maybe a Sho Del holding a Shard.

This might also be a shard that would support the 17th shard in their hunt for Hoid and might even be the one supplying some of their more exotic abilities and equipment. It would explain how they seem to be able to get places that they shouldn't and live such long periods of time without aging. To draw a even thinner lines, wisdom, if it/she is an actual shard, might be the patron shard of Silverlight, given that it is a city in the cognitive realm.

Does anybody have any other evidence to back this up? Comments, for/against?

  9. I don't think so, we see in BoM that Connection's main physical realm use is to act as a translator, Adhesion does the same thing when used as a spiritual/cognitive surge. I think they are similar enough to be used as a hack for each other. So yes, screw vs bolt, but similar enough to be used as a entry into either magic system.

  10. The main thing I am seeing is that most of the SLA cast are not white americans or brits,  the alethi look similar to people from the middle east and India. I do not know cinema in general very well and even less when it comes to countries outside of the US so I think that me trying to cast this book will not be completely accurate to the source material. But here are the few I have come up with.

    Taravangian: Anthony Hopkins

Lopen: (I know this is type casting but I cant help it after antman) Micheal Pena

    Rysn: Sami Gayle

Kaladin: (If the actor was younger) Alexander Siddig, I am a huge DS9 fan

Odium: Ryan Reynolds or Chris Pine or Samuel Jackson

I get the impression that their name comes more from their unusual 'See what is happening in the world' power, which lets them watch and know the truth, without it being filtered by others' perceptions or biases

I really like this idea, I think that the truthwatchers watch for truth. This gives credence to the idea that Renarin is a corrupted Truthwatcher because he does not see truth but a lie in his visions.
