As she leaned towards him Wes looked down, refocused his glance to the Kalea. She knew his squad, of course he did. She probably had spies everywhere. Nodding Wes pulled the small cage closer to himself, rested it on his lap. “Thanks,” he said quietly, hoped again this wasn’t a test, and looked to Adren. Wes shook Adren’s hand, paid attention to how he gestured to the cleaver and the earring with a sudden realisation. He had other people, talking to him, voices in his head. Just like Mike. But, he seemed calm about it, had he learnt to control them? “They... don’t give you any trouble?” He asked, eyes wide. Realising what he was saying he quickly shook his head and looked down. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to be rude. I just have a friend who hears voices, but he doesn’t like them. He can’t control them.” He didn’t know whether it was alright to state Mike’s condition out loud, but if there was anyone to help him, maybe it was this man.

non-canon Challenge of Champions! Wes vs. Deteca
I think I am here. replied to I think I am here.'s topic in The Alleyverse
Wes tripped over her foot and raised his hands to try and block the metalmind. It still hurt, but Wes knew it could have been worse. As he fell he clung onto the metalmind, tried to pull her down with him.- 83 replies

Today’s prompt is: 30. Blood , just kidding, I’m just a bit late on my last two Inktobers! So without further ado, make way for Inktobers #30 and #31, Blood and AlleyCity! Also, I fully support the renaming of the thread 30. Blood 31. AlleyCity

non-canon Challenge of Champions! Wes vs. Deteca
I think I am here. replied to I think I am here.'s topic in The Alleyverse
Wes jumped to the side, yelping as the knife left a shallow yet long slice in his arm. Cursing he held it up, holding back tears and staring at Deteca. “Argh, it was just a cookie!” He said, charging at her with his fists raised in an amazing combat pose from Ninja Fighter II.- 83 replies

Marcel walked up the stairs back into the main living room. Looking back to Wita and Lewis, he held up the ‘work’ box up, then set it down on a table. “I found a bunch of stuff. Pay checks, blueprints, and this,” he held up the patch, looking like some sort of swirl of colour. Turning his attention to the others he looked at the newspaper Wita held up. Narrowing his eyes, he looked at the dots. But why? “Isn’t it interesting the dots are only in places where there’s text? None of the images or ads have dots.”

Cheh reached out and grabbed Failen’ hand immediately, clung to it. “I, I have no idea what’s going on,” he said honestly, scared at everything happening. “It just happened so fast, too fast.”- 502 replies

Rob stood in the middle of the battlefield. Or rather, in the aftermath of the battle. Rock lay splashed about like water and large scorches marked the land leading up to some corpses. All in all, it was a mess of Voidbringer bodies, with not a single Radiant corpse in sight. Perhaps that would mean the Voidbringers would lay off the attacks. Perhaps it meant they would just send stronger adversaries. But that was the future. In the present, there was a pile of bodies and a large amount of blood, allmoutside what was supposed to look like a normal house. Even with their relative isolation, someone would find out sooner or later. Which meant someone had to take care of the bodies. Breathing in deeply, stormlight flowed from stray spheres on the battlefield into Rob, making him glow. Lifting a leg up he stomped into the ground, the area becoming soft and liquid, bodies sinking back into the stone. They weren’t gone, Rob knew he could never make the bodies completely gone. Just hidden beneath the surface. As all bodies were enveloped by the rock Rob stomped again and it was all over. No trace of an invasion. Rob nodded to himself at a job well done, but didn’t walk back to the house just yet.

Alask let out a small smile as well, looking down and taking another bite. When he’d first joined the Forge, he’d thought he hadn’t found a suitable replacement to thievery. That when he was getting shelter, food and money from doing the right thing, there was no need to go back to his old life. He had been so very wrong. But at least now, he was stealing for a good cause. No, a great cause. One that would be remembered in these streets for years... once the majority obtained the education to read and write. But baby steps. “This is good, really good,” he commented on the food.

Wes stuttered, looking at the Kalea and back to the Righthand. The Righthand, just handing him over an animal. Was this another test? Quickly he glanced to Adren, was he an assessor in disguise? Ready with a consequence in hand no matter what Wes did? After all, they had seen how he’d looked at the Kalea. “You, you don’t want to keep it for research?” He asked, looking back to Althea. Slowly he rested his hand on the cage and the Kalea scurried up to it, sniffing it through the metal bars. It was so cute. Wes just wanted to hug it. And they said he could keep it! No, it was some sort of test. To see his ‘restraint’ or some measure of his worth.

“Aye, my hair. How much will it be costin’, then?” He said then raised a hand. “It better not be my Breath, that’ll be one chip I can’t bargain with today, lass.”

wedding Walkelody: Another Wedding
I think I am here. replied to Darth Woodrack's topic in The Alleyverse
“Ah, I’ll have to change your mind on that too,” Lusk said, downing the rest of it and embracing the cloudy feelings he got. “Adults drink. How will you convince anyone you’re the age you claim if you won’t even have a few shots?” He laughed and shook his head. It didn’t matter, her choices were just that, her choices, and he didn’t care if she continued in her sad, alcohol-free life. “And I disagree with what you said,” he said, setting his half-eaten cupcake down in a moment of clarity. He knew this topic well. All too well. “Even when they’re picked on, nerds will still run the world smartly. They’ll just learn to run it toughly, too. By not picking on them you’re inevitability setting them up for failure when they realise logic isn’t everything in this world.” A faulted reasoning, but the wine smoothed some of the edges over in Lusk’s mind and the cupcake did the rest of the trick. -
Wes sat down, reaching a hand to touch the cage lightly. A little Seeker, that was amazing. That the animals here could replicate Allomancy. Just like the worm, he realised, but this was different. He tilted his head, tried to look into the Kalea’s small, dark eyes as it nibbled on the mushroom. “Hi, Adren,” Wes said in response to the introduction and looked to the man, waving a little bit. He gestured to the Kalea. “It’s interesting.” And a little cute, he added silently, looking at the small animal again, but it was best to keep opinions professional, wasn’t it? “I don’t think I’ve ever seen an animal like it before.” —- Alright, Max said, leaning back in his chair and slipping out his Ghostblood console. It was old, and a thin layer of dust covered the screen. Since he had become one of the Canton leaders he had been going to the Ghostbloods less and less. He’d left behind the blind idolisation and had gone his way. Still, being a member had its perks. Searching through the various profiles with the name ‘Wes’, Max scrolled down until he found that matched the image she sent him. Clicking on it Max found he was curious as well. It wasn’t everyday Althea was interested about some random underling. He chose the engineering pathway, he said after a while of reading. Pretty average in all other things. Never broke a rule since he was apparently ‘disciplined’ by Mr. Itiah. Oh, this is interesting, he’s part of some ‘Guns N’ Roses’ underling crew. They did stuff during the Invasion, botched an assassination though. Doesn’t seem to have much of a social circle beyond them, and it says he was recruited and raised in the dorms for pretty much his whole life. He’s also got his GB tattoo on his ankle, and that’s about it for what it says on him. The profile was pretty large considering it was just an underling, though Max was sure higher ranked GBs would have access to more information. Why?

Aoryen looked at the girl, offended. “By the waves, no! What’re you thinking, girl? A man’s honour rests in his beard, it’s the Sailors’ Code!” He smiled and took a moment to pose. After his moment in the sun he looked back down at the girl. “But, er, a trim could do well by one like me. I have some shiniest of my own I can pay with.” He craned his neck at the other girl offering food. “And what would that be, lass? A bodyguard? You’d be better hiring some rough-and-tough bloke of a mercenary, girl.”

Aoryen looked to the other two kids, a thief stealing some bag from a girl. One moment he was walking away, the next he was returning the bag. Well, that had deescalated quickly. Walking to the boy Aoryen placed a hand on his shoulder. “You know, boy,” he said. “If you wanted to tell ‘er you liked ‘er, there were more practical ways.”

Wes looked up at the Righthand, resisting the urge to look down again, or to bow. If he wanted to. So, no order, no obligation. Unless this was a test? The thought sent spikes of anxiety through him, but he pushed it aside. No, she wouldn’t do that, test him. Would she? He didn’t know her. But... she had seemed nice. And hadn’t even been harsh when she’d given him the option. Slowly he nodded, then faster. “I’ll go with you guys,” he said, walking with her as they walked to that animals she had found. It was small. And cute. Wes smiled briefly, and in a moment it was gone again. Smiles were precious things, it was dangerous to have them out too long in a place like this ——- That’s good. Well, theoretically there should be a midpoint, Max said, writing something about training schedules as he talked to Althea. A midpoint frequency, that affects the enemy but doesn’t kill them. Just able to repel them if they came close, like when you put two magnets of the same end next to each other, so you’d definitely no risk of being attacked, even if you walked right up to them. He finished his current document with a signature, and moved onto the next. But it would have to be precise really precise, he said. And for some reason I doubt the expedition came ready with that kind of tech. So just a theory for now. @Sorana

Alask kept silent, eating his food and watching the two discuss. It would be better to remain silent, he wagered. That way he wouldn’t come off as too eager. Or too desperate. So he kept himself busy by running over the plan in his head, organising names and lists. Equipment, crew, scouting, heist. A simple list. Shez hummed in his thought’s periphery, not finding anything to object against. “And you’re right,” he said to Zyn. He’d known there was some invasion that had happened, though he hadn’t known it was the Ghostbloods. Yet another case of the guilds warring on each other, probably causing a nightmare in property damage for the government to clean up. “Since the attack on them, I’d imagine they’d have improved security somewhat.” He shrugged. “Or maybe the attack weakened them. The only way is to scout. Do you know if anyone else is coming?” Slowly Alask began to go through his previous thoughts. The government. There were other ways to help the Forge, he knew that. But politics? He certainly had the confidence to try and win people over, but who was he really? No one would vote for him, except for maybe the small amount of people in these slums who could read. But, what if he got elected? What then? It’s a start, at least, he said and noted the idea in his head, made sure to remember it for later. @Voidus

“Argh, no place to eat, now that’s a real wee unfortune, isn’t it?” He said and looked to the small girl offering him free food. One person not knowing a place to eat and another offering free food? Well, free food was always a plus, Aoryen had decided long ago. And that was if he could help her? How could he help a teenage girl in any way? Perhaps to act as her boyfriend, to scare away an ex maybe. That would be amusing. One of his friend’s daughters back on the ship had done that. Good times. “And what help would that be, gurl?” He asked, looking down and tilting his head to one side. “And I’m curious to what this whole little scandaffle is that’s goin’ on right now.” @The Awakened Salad @Sorana

The battle was almost over. What little Voidbringers remained were running off, and Rob let them. Why kill unnecessarily? They would be back for the next raid, he was sure, but they would be prepared. With a fort for a house, and with a joint team and more radiants than ever. But there were always exceptions. Case in point, the Voidbringer running towards Rob now. Jumping up, the Voidbringer aimed a kick at Rob’s chest, which he caught. The Voidbringer dropped to the floor, eyes glowing a faint shade of red. Rob had always found that most unnerving about them. The red eyes. The stronger they were, the redder the eyes, and the harsher the glow. Obviously, this Voidbringer didn’t seem to be able to conjure lightning. Jumping up with new speed Rob felt a pain in his chest when he realised the Voidbringer had stabbed him, the knife cruel and grey, contrasting with the red blood. Before the injuries could reach his heart he breathed in stormlight and grabbed the Voidbringer’s hand, locking them in place. Ripping out a piece of the Voidbringer’s cloth Rob channeled Tension through it, turning it razor sharp and stabbing into the enemy’s back arm. The Voidbringer met his glance with a hateful stare, breathing in voidlight and shimmering with that weird black anti-glow that came with it. Slowly their wounds began to heal too, dark blood receding back into the cut. They stayed like that for a while, locked by each other’s knives, unable to move. It was simply a matter of who could last more. And whereas the Voidbringer had only a couple spheres, Rob had a pouchful. The Voidbringer realised this and tried to escape but couldn’t. The two had gone far too deep into the lock. There was only one outcome. The Voidbringer struggled against the lock, hateful glance suddenly showing a hint of another emotion. Fear? Sadness? Rob wondered who it must have felt to know you would die and be unable to do anything about it. May you be free from whatever chains you, Rob thought as the Voidbringer struggled one last time, before their voidlight ran out and they went limp, crumpling onto the ground. Rob took out the knife and stepped back, looking at the sprawled out Voidbringer. And may whatever gives us our powers look favourably upon your soul.

Just about, though truthfully, it was planned to be a guild war from the beginning, it was just that the GBs actually began the war. Then you’re mostly right, the other guilds joined, Mace threw a pineapple at the Worldspike and Voidus got mad, Gaan accidentally released all of the abominations, Rashan made his speech, Elkanah made the AlleyStorm and the Marines ended the war with thermonuclear explosions Although the timeline is a bit weird on what happened on what days, so I had to make do. What did Ark tell you happened?

non-canon Challenge of Champions! Wes vs. Deteca
I think I am here. replied to I think I am here.'s topic in The Alleyverse
Wes felt the knife get yanked out and he rolled to the side, not able to react fast enough to counter the attack. He only had one knife left, and he knew she would just block it with that bracer of hers. Unclamping another bracer on his figure Wes made a battlecry and threw his bracer and the knife at her, one aiming for her torso, and another for her feet.- 83 replies
