He heard Anthony say ‘yes,’ and he smiled. They were about to be officially married.

Because at the end of the day, the kid was still a kid, and Lusk had been beating him up. Slowly, Lusk began walking towards the ball. One step after another. Shadows, was he walking with a limp? He felt a displeasure in his stomach, but he continued walking. As the kid was in a ball, curled up, Lusk walked over, knife in hand, and... Patted the kid on the shoulder. The spectators in the stands gasped. No attack? How odd. Lusk kneeled next to Walker. “You seem scared,” he whispered. “Trust me, I don’t want to kill you either. So, I’ll give you a chance to call quits. Maybe we can buy a drink afterwards for a duel well done, hm?” As much as he hated kids, he hated crying kids more. Though Lusk couldn’t see whether Walker was actually crying or not, Lusk thought he was. He turned to the spectators, stopped tapping or storing atium, changing back to 45 years old. “Is this what you wanted?!” He shouted. “A grown man beating up a kid?! Disgusting. Barbaric.” He turned around, to the other side of spectators, to the commentators booth, to the spotlight operators. “All of you, barbaric. You all think, what, that just because we’re healed afterwards, it’s ok to beat each other senseless?!” He was angry. His doctor had warned him against high emotional activity. “You think the emotional damage gets healed? You think people ever really recover from the pain? Look at you. Customers, buying second grade tickets to people beating each other up. I had to beat up a kid! A kid! And what are you doing, eating popcorn and cheering? Who the he-” Lusk collapsed, a sudden pain in his gut blossoming and not ceasing. It was ten minutes before someone had bothered to send a doctor, and Lusk was carried away on a stretcher.
