[OB] Near death experiences in the cosmere
LopenTheTwoArmedHerdazian replied to Zelly's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Regarding the Returned: I thought their visions were caused by Divine Breath i.e. bits of a shard's power. If they contain pieces of a shard, could they maybe have access to a small fraction of the shard's power of prophecy (I know it isn't exactly prophecy, just can't think of a better term)? -
That is a possibility, but I think the opposite is true, since voidspren are corrupted spren instead of a separate species of spren, so it seems more likely that Voidbinding is simply a corrupt version of fabrial science instead of fabrial science being a form of Voidbinding. This is also based on the fact that (I can't remember the exact quote) the Dawnsingers state that they were forbidden to use surges, and then when the humans came the spren bonded the humans. Since the Nahel bond appeared after Honor created the Heralds that could not have been the way the surges were accessed, and they could not have considered Voibinding as a way to access surges since it is of Odium, and Odium came with the humans. The only possibility left is fabrial science. Btw thanks for the attention to the theory) My first that hasn't instantly and thoroughly been debunked.

I think the Awakener would win, just because in my opinion burning atium wouldnt be able to predict the manouvers of awakened objects, therefore relying near exclusively on pewter, tin, steel, and iron. But here I'm using an Awakened of Vasher's experience, so this could go quite differently. Full Radiant Windrunner (without shardplate but with shardblade) vs Mistborn with access only to vials of iron, steel, pewter, and duralumin. At normal rate of burning the amount of iron and steel should sustain the same length of flight as the windrunner using a double lashing (both have around an hour of flight). The mistborn has a single vial of pewter and single vial of duralumin. Set in Kholinar the day after the highstorm. The mistborn is not shocked by the terrain, so no advantage there.

Please feel free to savage this theory (looking at you @RShara). First of all, as we know, to assume a form of power or become a fused one must bind a spren to your gemheart. To create a fabrial, one must also bind a spren to a gem. Also, you know how Surgebinders don't change appearance from binding surges and Voidbinders do? Remember who else changes appearance from using surges? Fabrial using Soulcasters, that's who. And finally, this would explain why we haven't seen Voidbinders using two surges; fabrials can only do one thing. Thanks for reading!

Isn’t that his whole dying shtick? Spiked by the Lord Ruler (i know they were not hemallurgical spikes, but...), and then, as we find out in secret history, spiked through the eye? It appears that Kelsier is quite easy to spike. -

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...

Of course. Within our ranks we do not buy our delicious creations, we share them. And sell them. And of course, we try to follow the rules set down by drug dealers (we are of course a higher class establishment, but can still learn from everyone): Never use your own product. But rules are made to be broken, and there is always another secret. Anyway, you know you're a Sandersfan when you're told you got the right answer, but you simply respond 'There's always another secret.' -
