I think some of that was that Sigzil would not let himself think of himself as a Worldsinger, so he'd cut that portion of himself off and withdrawn into himself, becoming bitter and resentful in the absence of anything to replace that portion of himself other than the sullen attitude of the rest of the bridgemen. Basically I think Sigzil was mirroring the attitude of the larger bridge crew assembly, because the alternative was to torture himself constantly with the thoughts of who he once was and then come crashing back down into the hell of the bridge runs.

Visualizing social dynamics through eyebrow interaction data

I love that no one ever raises an eyebrow at Dox. It's always him side-eyeing someone else.- 7 replies

vessels Question concerning splinters and the 16 vessels:
Invocation replied to Levin's question in Cosmere Q&A
Honestly I wouldn't trust anyone I teamed up with to slaughter, shred apart, and assume the mantle of a deity. They've done it once, what's to stop them from doing it again? -
vessels Question concerning splinters and the 16 vessels:
Invocation replied to Levin's question in Cosmere Q&A
There was probably some element of greed to it in certain cases (Rayse comes to mind particularly), and since those others would have doubtlessly known about it due to their association with Rayse over the time it takes to trust someone enough to murder a deity with them, it would have been a not-so-good idea to splinter their own powers then and there, knowing that at least one among them wouldn't have had the desire to do so and not knowing how much a split like that would have affected their Shards. It also may have something to do with the old oath they made to keep Shards away from one another. -
The Intent of the Shard warps you to it, even after you give it up, so while most of them probably wouldn't kill you directly if you gave up their power, as long as you had the skill and proper Connection to create yourself a functioning body from it, you'd still be affected deeply for the remainder of your life.

Theory: Aimia and the Horneater Peaks [Discuss]
Invocation replied to NaturalNumbers's topic in Stormlight Archive
Interesting idea...what if it was whatever Dai-Gonarthis was before being Unmade? Would explain why it went back. -
What's some interesting Lore surrounding The Well of Ascension?
Invocation replied to Cheyenne Sedai's topic in Mistborn
Unlikely, but we can always hope. It'd be kind of fun to see Allomancy pre-Rashek, honestly.- 12 replies

Did you check your spam folder? Sometimes it gets sent over there.

What is your favorite exoplanet?

That's probably because Syl was pretty much the focal point for the return of the Windrunners, so the other honorspren (at least the ones who would bond) found a tight-knit group near her chosen that all seemed like they could fit and went "Hmm...yeah sure I'm just gonna stay right here and work with what I have."

Probably buried in Raboniel's stuff, meaning Navani will probably end up nabbing it at some point.

Brandon book recommendation?
Invocation replied to chongjasmine's topic in General Brandon Discussion
*sticks fingers in ears* lalalala I can't hear you -
I want my magic cowboys! Especially since it appears that M-Bot won't be as cool as the last couple books, and he's my favorite character.

Is it strange I'm more hyped for the start of W&W4 than for Nowhere?

Dang. 18% to finished in a week. I hope he's not neglecting things with how much he's writing.

Stormlight Archive board game spoilers
Invocation replied to jamesbondsmith's topic in Stormlight Archive
It spoils some stuff in Oathbringer, mostly in the way of art, but if they haven't read the thing, it won't mean much to them. -
I'm going to congratulate you for paying attention to the little details. But I have to agree with the other people: Read And Find Out.

It's probably somewhere in here.

I doubt it. That seems mostly to be her surprise and concern for them boiling over into irritation, plus some element of her propriety (which she definitely seems to be attached to) adding to it. This hits me as mostly because Wayne's bubbles, as noted in their conversation in a conversation they had in Alloy of Law, are much more bounded in size than her own bubbles. That, plus the grave itself likely wasn't large, so there wasn't much other room for her to occupy. Also, this. This is not exactly accurate. She didn't blush, but that doesn't mean she doesn't have an issue with it, since she did tell him to stop staring, and warned him before letting him cut not to get "too frisky." She definitely doesn't seem attached to Wayne in that way, at least in my reading.

Wow, a triple post from me. Guess this thread is somewhat dead, and it's been a few days, so I'm gonna post it anyway: 60%! Dude's schmooving with those drafts

That's it. It's done. Draft One is complete. Edit: Draft Two is on there and at 18%, a scant five hours since he finished Draft One.

One of the prime ways worldhoppers are able to speak all the languages around them is Connection hacking. That is very likely what's going on there - the Connection is taking over to translate what he means ("friend" and "understand?" included) into the Rosharan language they're speaking at the time. Some do prefer to learn the language, but because of how many languages there are, most choose to go solely with Connection hacks or have a backup Connection hack translator to take over. No idea how Elantrians have figured out how to get off Sel, but Galladon is not the first. There's a major cosmere-influencing group made up of Elantrians called the Ire, who appear to have figured it out, given that they, as an organization, were able to skip the Reod. Mistborn: Secret History spoilers: We'll probably find out more about how they manage to get around in Elantris's sequel (if/when that releases). I do not know of a translation for the phrase, but something along the lines of "this plan is crazy" seems likely. Or maybe "this planet is crazy."

What would happen if KoW was terrible?
Invocation replied to Bearer of all agonies's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Calamity was...mediocre. It wasn't bad, just a disappointing end to Reckoners as a whole.
