If Gavilar managed to swear an Oath, which I doubt, because the Stormfather said no one had bonded him in a long time, then he would have probably made it to where Dalinar is now. As to how he interpreted the visions as needing to restart the Desolation cycle, Gavilar...had an odd thought process. He tried to be too subtle with it, searching for a meaning that wasn't there and overlooking what the purpose was, and with all of the visions focusing around the Desolations and their effects, he thought that meant he needed to prepare to not have everything destroyed by forcing a Desolation along because the humans never started (that the visions would have let him know about), and thus were always on the offbeat from the very beginning. He wanted to reverse that and perhaps end it forever with an unequivocal victory for his side.

Would a kandra have issues trying to leave Scadrial and its Cognitive Realm area due to how heavily Connected it would be to Scadrial, much in the same way as spren have issues leaving Roshar and Cognitive Shadows have issues leaving their respective planets?

Fair. The Skaze are essentially Seons, but where the Seons were made from Devotion, Skaze are from Dominion and pretty much have been running the whole Jaddeth thing this entire time.

Did you have the 10th Anniversary edition of Elantris? If not, you might need to look up what the Skaze are, since they weren't directly shown in the initial print, and only referenced like twice.

Yeah, probably on Scadrial. They have everything. Also some little portions of Roshar probably have them, too.

That was Ruin, trying to destabilize the Inquisitors and everyone else with spikes so that he could try to free himself via pawns. Without that influence, everything should be just fine.

Off the top of my head, I think it comes either from Shallan in Words of Radiance accidentally partially transitioning into Shadesmar, or just after the Oathgate thing in Oathbringer.

There was a WOB that Harmony could produce a metal that could act as either Lerasium or Atium, but since Leras and Ati are no more, they're both just Harmonium now, though they'd do a similar thing to Lerasium and Atium if he wants them to. Here's one for Kelsier

It's very possible that the addition of so much of Cultivation's power would have affected his journey to Bondsmith. Also possible is that him removing those memories removed the consequences of him "approaching Radiance" as the Stormfather puts it, making him once again ineligible for Bondsmith visions.
