  1. We've been Pewter rushing these puns, going and going forever and never stopping. I guess this thread is starting to.....drag? YEEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAW!
  2. When you see basically every plottwist in every other fantasy book coming, and actually miss a few because you're used to crazy subversions.
  3. I wonder if Duralumin could be used to shatter your spiritweb like with a Nahel bond? I highly doubt it, since you'd need TLR-Nicrosil-Duralumin, but is it theoretically possible is the question.
  4. Glad you were able to find the WoB I was looking for. i'm hopeless with the things. Added to the confirmed section.
  5. Dalinar never says that he knows his curse and boon, but he implies that he does. Forgetting his wife falls perfectly in line with all the other curses we've seen, which seem to stick to being mental. His boon was likely something else entirely.
  6. Personally I've always felt it was because he had been tapping Stormlight unintentionally like Kaladin. He mentions having felt it before, and Kaladin did as well, so I think it's an easier and less convoluted explanation. EDIT: Random letters again.
  7. If you haven't finished the book, you're treading on spoiler territory, so be warned. The epigraphs to Brandon's books are always in-universe documents, past present or future. You get Jasnah's research, Navani's journals, and the Death Rattles that Taravangian has been mass-murdering his hospitalized citizens to listen in on. It's his collection of future events, and he records every possible detail about the person who yelled it that could be telling, up to and including how long it took them to die afterwards. If you want more on the Death Rattles, check out the thread for it about 3 below in this forum.
  8. I myself am about 100% sure of it, but since I don't have a total confirmation on hand, I didn't feel right putting it in there.
  9. Welcome to the 17th Shard Halpe! If you aren't already up to speed on the Shardic lore and shared-universe stuff, drop on by the Cosmere 101 thread under "Cosmere Theories" and read up. Remember to use the search bar before making topic, don't accept cookies/spikes from admins, etc etc etc basic forum rules. Hope you have a great time here on the Shard!
  10. The fact that her mother seemed to be at least a little bit in-the-know about Lightweaving powers, as well as her eventual actions, tells me that she probably wasn't the most stable person in the world. I've always thought that it was Shallan's mother who was abusing/unstable, and she rubbed off on her husband a little as they fought. Shallan probably did what Hoid did in Liar of Partinel, creating imaginary friends to talk and listen to. She does mention before Jasnah's philosophy lesson that she used to enjoy imagining that various objects were actually other, more foreign things. Makes sense to me that she would actually make it so any time she got bored.
  11. If Silver had an Allomantic use, it definately wouldn't be used in a custom-made Mistborn cell, especially by an Obligator who knows that TLR wasn't very up-front about the number of allomantic metals.
  12. Alright, so I added in a Confirmed section, for us to stick Rattles as chapter titles and events all but guarantee a fit. But that's not too important, so I did something else as well. I decided to organize the Rattles in terms of how far before death they were screamed. The results are in the OP, but what I noticed as a put it together were that 8 and 18 seconds pre-death seem to be very prominent numbers. I have no idea how exactly they decide when a target is dead, or what causes the time lag. I'm privately hoping that the time taken relates directly to how long it takes to be fulfilled, but I haven't looked yet and I highly doubt it. What do you people think?
  13. So....is Roshar like, a big whirlpool in Shadesmar or something, and Aimia is a stationary section of it?
  14. The real thing that kills me is that I'm pretty sure Brandon has said that SA will not have an enormous, Cosmere-wide effect, something seriously hampering my personal speculation and judgement, since the amount of hints we get all point to major crap going down in the near future :/
  15. DAMNTATION Ten people, with Shardblades alight, standing before a wall of black and white and red. -Collected: Jesachev, 1173, 12 seconds pre-death. Subject: one of our own ardents, overheard during his last moments I once thought that this referenced the Heralds, but now that I think of it, Honorblades do not glow, even when the Heralds use them. In this instance, I'm thinking this refers to a final Radiants vs Voidbringer showdown, once all the orders have been gathered.
  16. Hehehe, now I'm wondering if his Boon is the fact that he'll become an idiot just when he needs to be one, and his curse is that he'll make such a thing necessary. The world will live or die on his intelligence, but the other way around from what Vargo thinks. Yes, this is almost certainly what will happen.
  17. I doubt that you could regrow any lost Spiritweb stuff, since Aluminum is a cleaner, not a fixer. Maybe it could cut into a Ruin infestation, but I imagine it would do it quicker by dissolving the spike.
  18. As a modification, I'd say that in book 5 Kaladin goes in as Honor's champion and gets himself wrecked. The next few books are probably about scrambling to find out what it was that Honor did, maybe finding Cultivation, and basically a mad dash to find a new victory while Odium blows up Roshar. Going to Braize will likely be the last book, at least climactically speaking. W/E, I'm not fond of the theory, but I can see if happening in a way.
  19. I'm going to go from Lord Prelan to Dahkor Monk. I guess I got jealous of the Inquisitors?
  20. Question: Will there ever be any ranks beyond Mistborn? I know it's kind of stupid, since that's a rank pretty much only Brandon has, but I feel it's worth asking.
  21. {S] Observer: Ascend. Okay, sorry, I had to. The Venture family has always liked to use spies. They've just always, Felt like it... Also, once the mists were finally used by her, I bet Preservation felt...Vin-dictated...
  22. People tend to log into the forums in cycles, and that means delayed voting windfalls. No offense, but this is what I've got on your recent downvote history: "I:f a human and spren falls in liove can they have half-srpen babeis? " I'd recommend picking more intellectual and less poorly-written posts in the future :/ On a less awkward note, I'd like to add a second witness to 550 as the hard barrier for Lord Prelan.
  23. I'll need to send you to Alcatraz for that one.
  24. Knowing the rumors that would come about for a place called the City of Shadows, I can't help but wonder if that's where Odium stashes his toys when playtime is over. I'm willing to bet the Unmade have at least one of their number influencing the place at all times as a best-case scenario, especially if it's flashback-worthy.
  25. Between all these highstorms and cowering plants, I can't help but wonder if Roshar feels....dead Shin-side... WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!
