On the Q&A Thread Brandon mentioned that Sazed's body is still out there somewhere, and is still a Feruchemist, though it doesn't really matter anymore to him. Yes, it does exist, though kind of...blended-in, so to speak, as happened with the others when they ascended. Yes, it still has his abilities, though they are kind of moot now.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Observer replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
When any magic you try writing that works based on perception instantly deteriorates back into Shadesmar phsycs, and when you actually mentally correct other books' magic systems by adding in details that haven't yet been clarified. -
The fact that sixteen people who all just so happened to know one another wound up holding a monopoly on Shardic power tells me that not only were all of them directly present for the Shattering, but almost certainly had a hand in causing it or defending against it. Could be that they were on two ends of a war, and when the dust settled random members of each side scrambled to grab a Shard, like the people in front of Feverstone Keep if the enemy army had been there with them in the Sword Forest.

I am a Seer now! It doesn't matter where you run, I'm always already there!

I've never used the system myself, but I usually see it to denote a character in different stages, like the Sideburns!Elend you mentioned, referring to his pre-WoA state. Things like Possessed!Charactername is something that I see a lot when distinguishing various stages of character development. Then again, I hold a burning hatred in this shriveled raisin I pawn off as a heart for the place known as Tumblr, so my interpretation of the system is quite likely flawed.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Observer replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Most of mine are real. I sit like a bird and wear a trench coat most of the time and do indeed try to make Hoid jokes when I already act like him. I've used the Stick comeback at least twice now and only had it work once, that kind of thing. Don't even get me started on accidentally trying to push and pull things, having Sanderson powers in my dreams has done a number on my muscle memory. Can't speak for everybody else, but I think a lot of these are probably mostly true. -
Hoid is somehow banned from harming people?
Observer replied to shawnhargreaves's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I always assumed that it was Rock projecting his own beliefs of what his gods can and cannot do onto somebody who appeared to be one. I don't find it entirely unreasonable for Hoid to have been to Roshar before, or maybe even pulled a Bene Gesserit on a religion or two. The mention of his own and being bad at hurting people though.....I'm not entirely sure of what to make of that. He said he was ineffective thanks to his upbringing, though he doesn't say unable. This makes me think it was some event that makes him just not enjoy killing. Heck, maybe having such powerful access to the Spiritual Realm has made ending lives harder for him? -

When you view maneuvering a debate into a place where you can use the counter "I am a Stick" as an undeniable and crushing auditorial victory. -
Okay, that is really really creepy and beautiful. If they ever get around to being crazy enough to make a movie from The Way of Kings, I expect to hear this in the background. Have an upvote!

Unless of course Hoid noticed that "Axe" was in the name, and then some other sound at the end that probably sounds a little bit like one of the countless languages Hoid speaks's version of "hound", and he just randomly started talking about it for no discernible reason. It's either that or we decide he has a pinch of magic helping him with languages, which I can't rule out.

Look, have we answered the question yet? TLR died because he was mildly insane from thousands of years of living under Ruin and his own actions, he was quite justifiably confident that nobody was good enough with Steel or Duralumin to get rid of his metalminds, or even would know enough to tell what they were. He wasn't tapping Luck because he felt he wouldn't need it (being god), he wouldn't use it (taking hits is scarier than dodging), and he probably couldn't compound it (importing a lot of metal tips off bad people). We have word of Brandon that the Lord Ruler isn't totally invincible in any case. If somebody managed to totally separate his head from his body in one go, he would die because his brain wouldn't be connected to the goldminds. His insane power didn't help him at all the night he died, because he was busy venting at an irritating but harmless Mistborn who dared defy him, and when she suddenly pulled on Preservation and shoved his metalminds out the window, no amount of Ironpulling was going to get them back. TLR didn't really mess up anywhere beyond deciding to leave Vin alive for two more minutes than he could have. Beyond that, he was screwed over by both Ruin and Preservation. Did I miss anything, because it looks to me like TLR was very much capable of dying here, and nothing was really off.

When people see you in an enormous black trench coat and compare you to some kind of hawk, you immediately start talking like Hoid to make a bad joke, and then realize that not only will they not get the joke, but you already act like Hoid all the time. -
Zombie Survival Guide: Investiture Edition
Observer replied to Kobold King's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Or make them worse... I'm working on setting this up using the MAG's baseline. Zombies prowl the ash-filled world, and the player count determines their strength, speed, and endurance. Periodically, after a set number of turns, a die will be rolled to determine if a Highstorm arrives, and event that will probably do something to the zombies, I have no idea. The game has no actual way to win, and is played for a highscore of kills and survival time. So far the beta runs have led to either infinite survival, or very, very quick and brutal deaths by Stormform zombies. -
My objections below were ninja'd. I'll leave them here though. Anyways, I think the main problem is that you seem the person who does not like liars, whereas I live with a bunch of compulsive liars and have grown up seeing it as somewhat endearing. I don't get people who hate Shallan, but hey, I can understand not liking her, even if I don't really see why.

Don't get me wrong, I loved what they were trying to do with Frozen. My issue with it has nothing to do with what they did at all, what they did was a delightful subversion of common Disney tropes alongside a fun story. No, the reason I'm annoyed with Frozen is because of what they didn't do. I see the idea they have here and I love it, but I'm irritated that they didn't take it to its full potential. Little things like animation errors, or my issues with the songs or those trolls, can be totally ignored on their own. But together, they represent in my mind a black spot on something that otherwise very nice. What makes me mad is that Frozen wasn't a very nice idea, it was an excellent idea, and the very fact that they sold it short is what makes the movie painful for me to watch. But I'm being a hypocrite and an idiot, as I was the person who was just saying that there's a topic for this, even if it is a much more optimistic tone than this one, so I'll stop repeating myself infinitely until I have something actually new to say.

There were a few minor ones I won't mention, because whining about somebody's thumb slightly clipping into another object is a little idiotic, but the one that really killed me was when I saw Elsa's braid at the end of Let it Go go straight through her shoulder.

Yolen holds the prototype magic systems for just about every planet. There were these pink gem things (Mraize has one in his room) that are built similarly to Seons and Spren, so I imagine that if there's a gemstone that is "dead", it'd be that one. I've never actually taken time to wonder what Adonalsium did when it was in one piece. We know from WoB that it was shattered intentionally, but what it was doing beforehand is a mystery.

Just wait around for an admin, they usually get to things like this after a few days. I gotta say, I was really disappointed with Frozen, though I never had high expectations in the first place. Though it felt rushed, I think the real reason I didn't like it was because I saw that it could have been so much better. I liked the idea for Frozen, and was annoyed that they managed to make something that never quite reached its potential. Things like the 100% unnecessary trolls, totally forgettable song at the opening, and a few animation mistakes that should never have been made, just ruined it for me. However, all that aside, there is already a thread for Frozen things in the entertainment discussion section.

I'm not sure how relevant or accurate Liar of Partinel is these days, but for what it's worth Midas was definately human there. Also, Mraize and Hoid are both worldhoppers, and Kaladin was able to see the age and weight in the eyes of Vasher, who is also a worldhopper. Seems to me that they all have something about them that people can spot if they look hard enough.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Observer replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I gave up a long time ago on people getting the joke behind my siggy. Most people see a creepy poem, some people know where it's from, and maybe one person gets the joke. I leave it there to inspire me of the everpresent nature of futility. ...when you learn all kinds of new things because of looking up people's siggies. -

Well done Lightning! It's good to see somebody can find those WoBs, since I'm almost starting to rely on people popping up to support my totally groundless claims while I scramble around on the floor looking for something in the cupboards.
