I wonder if that was on purpose. -
Worldhopping and Sharworld focuses
MountainKing replied to InvertShard's topic in Cosmere Discussion
So I don't have a WoB about it but for an allomancer can just burn any allomantic sound metals and they will always draw power from Harmony, because most of the shards power(except devotion and dominion) is in the spiritual realm which is location independent -
Fabrials Era 1 Fabrials- Fabrials of the Knights Radiant. These fabrials probably use sentient spren that agree to being connected to fabrials and are fabrials that store stormlight keyed to one of the surges. Era 2 Fabrials- Fabrials of current day Roshar. They use nonsentient spren. Types Altering Fabrials Augmenters- These fabrials are crafted to enhance something. They can create heat, pain, or even a calm wind, for instance. They are powered—like all fabrials—by Stormlight. They seem to work best with forces, emotions, or sensations. I am guessing that any one of the ten Polestones will work. Diminishers- These fabrials do the opposite of what augmenters do, and generally seem to fall under the same restrictions as their cousins. Pairing Fabrials Conjoiners- By infusing a ruby and using methodology that has not been revealed to me (though I have my suspicions), you can create a conjoined pair of gemstones. The process requires splitting the original ruby. The two halves will then create parallel reactions across a distance. Spanreeds are one of the most common forms of this type of fabrial. Conservation of force is maintained; for instance, if one is attached to a heavy stone, you will need the same strength to lift the conjoined fabrial that you would need to lift the stone itself. There appears to be some sort of process used during the creation of the fabrial that influences how far apart the two halves can go and still produce an effect. Reversers- Using an amethyst instead of a ruby also creates conjoined halves of a gemstone, but these two work in creating opposite reactions. Raise one, and the other will be pressed downward, for instance. These fabrials have only just been discovered, and already the possibilities for exploitation are being conjectured. There appear to be some unexpected limitations to this form of fabrial, though I have not been able to discover what they are. Warning Fabrials- Using an amethyst instead of a ruby also creates conjoined halves of a gemstone, but these two work in creating opposite reactions. Raise one, and the other will be pressed downward, for instance. These fabrials have only just been discovered, and already the possibilities for exploitation are being conjectured. There appear to be some unexpected limitations to this form of fabrial, though I have not been able to discover what they are. Sanderson, Brandon. Oathbringer: Book Three of the Stormlight Archive (pp. 1238-1239). Tom Doherty Associates. Kindle Edition. There are 2 more pairings of Fabrials that we don't know about. The Technological Plateu- Rosharan artifabrians have 5 pairings of types of fabrials, ten gemstones to manipulate the effects, and three type of different ways to harness the power of spren and the surges. Once they figure out how to create Era one Fabrials, they will be able to create many types of fabrials, but eventually the fabrials will eventually get too big for there the intended use. Rosharans can counteract this by controlling the size of spren, which we know can be gone from one of the interludes in WoR, to make them fit tinier gems. But they don't have the tools to cut gems that small and wire the gems and mechanisms together to create a fabrial. In the future, once they get past this problem what kind a fabrials do you think will be created, and how will it affect the many Rosharans? Fabrial Cities I think Fabrial Cities will become popular. I don't think we will have Urithiru cites due to lack of Super spren who would agree to this. Instead I think it will several to very many smaller fabrials will be interconnected to create one city fabrial. To do this, they will probably use a lot logic spren to handle all of the connections, stormlight infusion, and information exchanged. This also lets spren-hacking become a thing. Holograms and the Internet I think that these fabrials will probably use rubies and creativity and logic spren to provide near instant transfer of information. I don't now how they will keep information, but that might be able to work with one of the unknown pairing. For holograms I think it will be a mixed with creativityspren and maybe a hypothetical pairing to the warning fabrials, this could also work for screens for boards and communication devices.

A lot of spren don't go to the Parshendi, the only spren we know the Parshman seem to be able to attract is angerspren, the spren of mateform, the spren of warform, the spren of nimbleform, and void stormspren. During HIghstorms they can sing a song to attract a spren of a new form, but its unreliable and the songs were either lost or mixed in with the songs of their history. Due to the Parshendi learning how to capture spren they can capture new spren if they can find them. Now that Rlain is around humans and humans attract a large amount of different spren. This allows Rlain to be able to capture the spren the Parshemdi's song says will grant forms and test out new spren that are not in the songs.

We know that creationspren grants artform, but would that form allow them to be excellent artists in every discipline or just physical art?

Shardblades are not super light they are just lighter than what most expect them to be, so they would be lighter than if someone made a similar sword out of iron.
-
Rlain, bridge four's dawnsinger, is in Urithiru right now. He probably knows how to capture spren, and a great variety a new spren the Parshendi haven't been able to catch yet. So basically as Rlain bonds all these new spren, what kinds of new forms will he discovered? Do you think he can find non-Odium forms of powers?

Right now I'm saying Szeth swore his 3rd oath, but it still working towards it because he does not have a normal shardblade right now, All the other Radiants got their shardblades with their third oaths. Ideals and the oaths are the same.
-
When a Radiant swears an oath they become more efficient at using stormlight and at oaths 3 and 4 get a shardbalde and shardplate. They have access to all surges before the first oath, but due to a weak nahel bond or low efficient stormlight usage that surge is hard to perform or dangerous to use. Szeth has only sworn two oaths. Skybreakers' 3 and 4 oath are goals that they have to proof to their spren that they are completing or have completed. So Szeth is working on his thrid oath and has not started on his fourth oath yet.
-
Yeah, but that's also what most Radiants do first as well, I really think this should just be asked for a WoB.

@AonEne Is that a Wings of Fire cover -
I think that Lopen was currently beginning to form a Radiant bond, like Kaladin did when he was a slave.

[OB] Odium can heal the broken shardblades
MountainKing replied to MountainKing's topic in Stormlight Archive
So I think we all agree that regrowth can heal the parshmen. -
This is just a topic to talk about theories/what we want in Book 4. Bridge Four- I want all of Bridge Four( or just about all of them) to become radiants, but I don't want them all to become Windrunners. I see why they all probably will be, being Kaladin's squires, but I don''t want them to be. Skar and Drehy- I want them to be radiants, but not Windrunners, I can see them being Windrunners, always helping Adolin's and saving Gavinor. But I also feel they could become edgedancers as well. They saved the baby, always trying to save Adolin, and just being good Knights Radiant fit well with the Edgedancers ideals. We also don't have a lot of POV of them that really go into their character, so they might qualify for other orders. Sigzil- I think he could be a Elsecaller or a Skybreaker because of the culture he follows, and being the "ardent" of bridge four. Rlain- So I want him to be a Stoneward or a Bondsmith, or he could use all the spren around the residents of Urithiru to rediscover all the new forms, and maybe find forms of powers that aren't of Odium Rock- Stoneward or Bondsmith, and reuniting the peaks. The Knights Radiants- Shallan- I want one of her truths to be that She is Shallan and Shallan can be what she wants Veil and Radiant is. I also wnat her relationship with Adolin to succeed. Does she have shard plate Kaladin- I would like him to say his fourth oath, but I'm okay if he doesn't. I do want his relationship with Jasnah improved.(Kalanah)But I do want the other Windrunners/Squires to did more POV time and say more of their oaths. Lopen-I hope my earlier theory of Lopen is corrected otherwise see Kaladin Windrunners/Squires-See Kaladin Szeth/Nightblood- More Dialouge with each other, Formal introduction to Division. Szeth and his impacts with Knights Radiants/World Leader Nale/Skybreaker- Did most of them Join the parshmen, or did they find parshmen that didn't join Odium to follow, or are they still thinking about what they need to do. Hoid- Have more people question Hoid Brdge Thirteen- see Squires Jasnah- More on her finding out about Urithiru, spending time with Kaladin, Does she have Shardplate? Renarnin- What going on with his spren, relationships, Helping the scholars Dalinar- His relationship with the stormfather and his pernament partial ascension Radiant spren- Just haveing more time and lines in the book Lift-More lIft and wyndle and them interacting with nightblood, szeth, and the highspren with szeth. Roshans- Navani/Scholars Researching history of Urithiru and Knights Radiant and Ancient History World Leaders- Working together Worldhoppers- Vasher/Zahel- He's secret need discovering Hoid- See Hoid

[OB] Odium can heal the broken shardblades
MountainKing replied to MountainKing's topic in Stormlight Archive
Passive Stormlight heals your own spiritweb. F-gold feels your own spiritweb. Regrowth heals small cuts in the soul , not large chunks, and these small patches are surrounded by complete spiritweb pieces. And any other cases regrowth uses the cognitive and spiritual aspects to heal the physical. Parshmen and Shardblades are missing large chunks in their souls. -
[OB] Odium can heal the broken shardblades
MountainKing replied to MountainKing's topic in Stormlight Archive
The everstorm did more than a standard Cosmere healing, it healed the spiritweb. Most healing techniques healed the physical aspect. I also propose spiritual regrowth as a way for the Radiants to heal some parshmaa left unchanged, and gain them on their side. -
[OB] Dalinar and the nature of shardblades
MountainKing replied to Malzera's topic in Cosmere Discussion
There's actually a recent topic on the OAthbringer Forum about bringing back dead spren. And in my earlier post I was referring to object spren and how they can become sentient, by waiting long enough or giving them more investiture. Remember some spren of objects are actually sentient, like mouuntain sprens and river sprens are sentient.(We know that due to Horneaters' Peaks Creation Story) -

But these dead spren can become alive with enough time or investiture. -
[OB] Odium can heal the broken shardblades
MountainKing replied to MountainKing's topic in Stormlight Archive
I think that once they were healed they would be able to return to their cognitive state. We know, do to Oathbringer, that their physical manifestation is still connected to them, the only thing that truly is damaged is their spirit web, which is causing their cognitive and physical forms to not being able to function like normal radiantspren -
[OB] Odium can heal the broken shardblades
MountainKing replied to MountainKing's topic in Stormlight Archive
The Everstorm was creeated by the Parshendi, influenced by Odium, so I'm saying that a Unmade or someone empowered by Odium has the same power to restore the shardblades, and that Spiritual Regrowth, if it exists, can be used to create the needed Spiritweb pieces for both the Parshmen and the shardblades.
