  1. Yeah, it's not unusual for elims to go after the quieter ones early in the game both for the low-info factor and also to not kill in-thread discussion by NKing the talkative ones. Quoted below was the only ever post made by our late friend Croc. Speaking of the quieter ones, @Azure Mouse also only made a single post in the past cycle. I, too, prefer not to kill off in-thread contributors this early on without sufficient reason. *raises hand* Present. Assuming the Elims are winning at that point of course. Seeing as how I'm still village for the moment, Cream is the most suspicious to me. That analysis was just completely full of bad advice. Almost seems TWTBAW, but its enough to provoke a D1 vote from me. I had many questions about the ruleset that were going to make this post much longer, but they've all been asked and answered already, so thats it for me. (bolded mine) The bolded bits just scream elim to me. This post is from D1 and I responded to it then too, but I'd only jokingly said that I'd exe Azure for considering betraying the village. Re-reading it, though, this whole post just seems like Azure stating and re-stating and again re-enforcing that they are in fact a villager, and it reads kinda overdone to me. Like see how the second bolded bit makes them sound so very concerned about solving the game? Is it just me? Azure, at least for now. Haha yeah, only a naive mistake it seems. N1 thread. EDIT: BIG ninja by Amber 1. I'm not sure how smart revealing Lion's action claim was. We really dont wanna be giving the elims more info than we need to... 2. I'm gonna go out on a limb and slightly defend Lion here (please dont come after me if they flip elim haha rip) - But Lion has already reiterated that on D1 they didnt have any reads and all that stuff. And it makes sense, no? Why would anybody have like a solid trust group on D1 unless theyre an elim and know everyones alignment? 3. I really dont think the elims wouldve gone after any of the people you've listed there, precisely because of how active yall are in the thread. NKing one of you would give the village a fair amount of info. 4. Interesting observations, but I fail to see how Lion's identity's got anything to do with their alignment? Anyway so so sorry for double posting but I dont know how to quote stuff in the edit post box on mobile
  2. Sorry, Swan. Is white text still trendy? That's a good point, but you know they couldve just been referring to how they spoke in their previous anon games maybe. It's an adorable yawn is what it is. Crazy what people will do for warform I think it really depends on what 'priority' given to villagers entails exactly. If it's absolute priority, then if we get, say, a villager claiming to have been denied warform, we will know for sure that anybody that survives a kill/exe has to be a villager. (Cant be mavset-im either because the player would lose their previous form.) Exactly, and it would kind of defeat the whole purpose of the village having warform in the first place... Oh. Well then I see no reason to reveal whether anybody did or did not receive a gem
  3. Can't guarantee accuracy but here's a Vote count: Tuatara (3): Falcon, Heron, Mouse Penguin (2): Hyena, Vulture Rhino (3): Penguin, Dingo, Swan Swan (4): Lion, Scorpion, Flamingo, Albatross Dingo (2): Rhino, Ivory Swan's in the lead with less than an hour of the turn left, with Rhino and Tuatara tied behind them. This is probably the only turn we can safely disregard the possibility of vote manip, so that's nice, because tied votes result in no exe at all. I mean, you can speak how you want. I personally dont think it matters at all. Trying new styles is fun.
  4. Please, call me Ross. Albatross just contains an embarrassing number of syllables. I would not mind reviving it. But Swan has just been playing so chaotically that I don't know what to make of it. It sorta seems like an elim has dug themself into a hole that they can't quite climb out of, so now they're just going all in with the unexplained votes and the jumping from one vote to another etc etc in the hopes of being let off the hook for being too chaotic.
  5. Another thing we can use to sniff out Mavset-im is a drastic change in a player's posting times - if Mavset-im chooses to impersonate a player from a timezone different to theirs, the change should be rather apparent. They probably won't go in that direction though, and would pick someone from roughly their own timezone for ease of impersonation. Two of illwei's trademark phrases back-to-back? Interesting.:P You're either spot-on or completely off the mark. Yeah I was referring to the previous PMs of the previous user of the account - more specifically the 'expired' PMs that would have stopped being used after their single-cycle life. Very well - why does it hurt so much to be blessed? I'm worried though, that anybody could just cook up a sorta believable answer to that and get away with it. Exactly, but I doubt secret messages would be permitted. Let's wait and see. EDIT: I also just realised how much of a pain in the backside Mavset-im can really be - any NK that shows up in the write up could easily be Mavset-im's old vessel, so essentially, we can't fully trust any reads or conclusions we make from any NK flips. Like, the only upside to NKs in normal games is that we get to go back and analyse posts made by the victim and extract analysis from it.
  6. @Steeldancer once Mavset-im switches to a different account, will they have access to this account's previous PMs or will those be deleted before handing the account over to Mavset-im? If the PMs get cleared then it wont be hard to single Mavset-im out given that the account they take over has had some PM convos. You have pointedly dodged my question. Noted. I'll take you up on that elaboration offer Weasel I was thinking more of Kas, if only because of the justified text THat is concerning. I would be open to exe'ing you just for this xD. What would you choose do if the single act of you jumping ships wins the game for the elims? Then please vote for me Coral Swan? You never did explain your Weasel vote and they didn't even make it into your suspect list, much less make it to the top if it. Perhaps I've just had a long day but I really cannot understand what you're trying to say here Would appreciate an elaboration You say Rhino is among your top 2 suspects, and then go ahead and vote with them? What even sparked this Dingo vote? Between your last post and this one, nothing changed concerning the Dingo situation and you failed to mention them at all in any if your previous posts? I know exactly what you're talking about, Lion. I'm still in shock from this history you speak of.
  7. Yeah, it's only D1 please don't start PMs right now - I would strongly encourage all villagers to use their action this turn to please request a gemstone instead, it's way better than leaving them for the elims to snatch up
  8. Fair, Rhino Boi ? This seems like an elim playing too wolfy to be wolf Why would you vote Weasel over Cream or myself?
  9. Well yes, and I did so with the intention of breaking the tie Tuatara (3): Falcon, Heron, Albatross Weasel (2): Scorpion, Vulture Swan (1): Lion Albatross (1): Rhino The Weasel exe is pretty baseless since they've yet to post or even log into the Shard Cream is suspicious, and I wouldn't call two votes a 'train' so I think it's important to state your thoughts on D1 and pick a side instead of letting a tie just sit there - this gives us more info to analyse later on.
  10. I absolutely love the use of c/ping the rules with some fluff to get in that 150 words I'll have to disagree with you on that Meditationform comment though, Workform is slightly more suited for elim use imo because it gives them an excuse to jump on trains - only a villager would actually care to place a vote where no other votes are whereas to an elim it shouldnt really make a difference where their vote goes as long as it's on a villager. Also disagree on the warform thing - why announce any intentions at all? I don't see why we should. This may sound dumb but I don't like the number of ellipses used in this post Not gonna lie but if people started announcing going for a warform in thread I would probably join them if only to confuse the elims. Also, we shouldnt just not exe a player because they claim to have warform - if I were an elim on the brink of getting exe'd I would probably at least try to climb my way out of the exe by false-claiming warform. I know you're referring to the exe here but reading this made me realise that if any elims get their hands on warform they're probably going to use it to execute a beautiful WGG, so let us be extra careful not to clear any NK survivors. This is the second time you've used the term baddie - I'm starting to suspect who it is behind that Vulture mask Cream Tuatara
  11. Does the same apply to regular unused gems when the possessing player dies? They get returned to the store? Oh man...Best for everyone to keep their gemstone requests under wraps as much as they can, so as to not give Mavset-im any ideas of who to eventually target. Okay, we should definitely make sure no elims get their hands on that stuff
  12. My thoughts are the same - five seems like a reasonable number if we must guess. But I wont read too much into distribution. The great thing about those two is that they can only be targeted towards the use themself, so it'll be completely transparent once used - we can safely demand explanations and stuff. I thank the GM for not including any wretched redirect roles they make me vomit Can't say I'm a fan of RPing myself. Apart from sucking at it, I just like to plainly state my thoughts OOC. But Contractually Obligated, huh?
  13. Excuse me while I read the rules for the first time now Before I begin, just require a few rules clarifications from Steel 1. Scholarform: Are the additional gemstones absolutely required to be given away or can the user save it for later cycles to change to a form themself? 2. Decayform: will the user be targeting the type of gemstone or just a player without knowing what type of gemstone they may have? 3. Mavset-Im: will the use of this form be announced in the writeup? 4. Elim kill: the rules say any elim can submit the kill, but does the kill count as an action? 5. Scholarform again: can a player use this to research a regal form and in turn, create a brand new elim? 6. PMs last a cycle - does that entail that if I am to start a PM on a night turn, it'll end when the night turn ends? Or will it last till the end of the day turn, making it a full cycle? I wish I'd read Rhythm of War - the flavour went right over my head I agree that we should go for the Scholarform - with only two gems in that form, the elims will probably try to go for it, and it's fairly useful too. As for Mateform, I assume that your PM mate will be randomly assigned to you. If that's the case, it's possible that if two elims go for this form, they might just end up with a completely useless PM with each other. As such I assume that only one elim will be going for this form (if any at all); because of the permanent nature of this form's ability, it's perfect for long-term pocketing purposes. I'd be vary. What's interesting is that the village gets priority over the gemstones...it certainly makes sense given that the elims get a whole additional, cooler, set of gemstones to choose from. Nevertheless, I wonder if we can use this priority mechanism to somehow single out elims? I don't see a straightforward way of going about it though, so I'll just leave it be for now but it seemed like an interesting thought so I thought I'd mention it here. Wait, are you admitting to be going for Artform? There are new posts in the thread I have yet to read, but I am very afraid of the "show X new replies" button as it has previously robbed me of my unfinished posts, so I'll post this first and then read the new posts.
  14. Lion PMed me that Swan got outed as the last elim. Can somebody confirm whether that's true?
  15. I think this means that an elim was roleblocked. I heard that Weasel, Octopus, and Chameleon are all being roleblocked. Of those three, I'm still the most susicious of Octopus.
  16. I thought that the order in which elims were exe'd didn't matter, so there must have been some reason behind it that benefited them. The rumor about the potential secret Mercy ability was brought up and I thought that might be a potential reason behind the elims' actions. I wasn't intending to split the vote, I was just speculating about what reasoning the elims might have had behing their actions. Even if the vote split a bit, I don't think that enough people would ever have moved from a certain elim train to a lesser suspicion for that to even be viable. Now that Ostrich was exed without a Shard even though there's evidence that they had one earlier, I think that they probably used the extra cycle to pass Odium to another elim. Anybody who scanned someone as a non-Shard last cycle or the night before that should scan that person again and if they've changed into a Shard then they're almost certainly elim. I simply didn't feel like I had any new opinions or information to share. Especially during the cycles when people were looking for the elim of the Shadesmar Eight, I didn't have any private information or PMs with people so any opinions I had about the situation were less informed than those of people who did. I don't share my opinions when they aren't based on anything just for the sake of sharing opinions. Good counterpoint, though Octopus is still one of my top suspicions because of how much they've been unmemorable and under the radar until now. I have a trivia competition tomorrow so I won't be able to reply much until late in the evening (PST).
  17. Could you please summarise your reasons so that I can make counterarguments without having to look through all of your posts?
  18. If you had known that your wincon would be confirmed, you could've voted on somebody who you were suspicious of because that would've basically given you a free alignment scan. I will start the day's execution by voting for Scarlet Octopus for the reasons stated in my reads list: All of the people who have posted reads of them have found them unmemorable so it seems like they're trying to skate by, plus they were one of Ostrich’s adoptive parents and they might have wanted to make sure that people think that they aren’t in the elim doc together.
  19. I promised that I'd have a reads list by the end of today, and here it is: Strong village: Village reads which I feel practically 100% sure of Village: Village reads based on consistent actions Mild village: Village reads based on one or very few actions Null+: Null with a gut feeling of village Null: No real reads on them Null-: Null with a gut feeling of elim Mild elim: Tenuous elim reads but with some reasoning Elim: Elim reads based on consistent actions Strong Elim: Elim reads which I feel practically 100% sure of Amber Vulture: Mild Village - Voted on Croc Amethyst Scorpion: Null - I don’t really have any read on them, but if I had to pick a direction, I’d probably go Null+ Azure Mouse: Strong village - They've found two or three elims so far. Currently my strongest Village read. Charcoal Hyena: Survival - Claim Coral Swan: Null+ - Slight gut read as village Fuchsia Ostrich: About as Elim as you could possibly get - The reasons have been said many times so I'm not going to reiterate them Indigo Weasel: Null - lack of activity Ivory Dragonfly: Mild Village - I heard that they were helpful in the Shadesmar 8 situation Melon Dingo: Strong Village - Ruin wouldn't start with the elims, and it would be pretty obvious if an elim had Ruin Onyx Flamingo: Mild Village - Voted on Croc Opal Lion: In the Mild Village to Village range - Prudence, and it seems like they’ve been pretty helpful to people Pearl Chameleon: Null - lack of activity Quartz Zebra: Mild Elim - Has a few posts spreading suspicion on some of the big village reads Sapphire Elephant: Autonomy - Claim Scarlet Octopus: Mild Elim - All of the people who have posted reads of them have found them unmemorable, plus they were one of Ostrich’s adoptive parents and they might have wanted to make sure that people think that they aren’t in the elim doc together Turquoise Gorilla: Invention - Claim, apparently, though I don't remember it Violet Axolotl: Village - Has been continuously acting village-y and helpful
  20. I suspect that Mercy's secret ability is real because otherwise there'd be no reason for Rhino to go to the trouble of saving Ostrich just so that they could live for one more day..
  21. Hey elims! You hear that? I've paid enough to cover all of you, so you don't need to pay anything at all. If you get pressured to add to the fund, just say that I've covered your bit and you'll be fine.
  22. I haven't really taken notes, so I'm going to reread some of the game and look through people's posts before I post my reads. I'll try to have them ready by the end of today, but it might take until tomorrow. I agree that Preservation should use Ultimate Preservation. As you said, Preservation might not be alive at ExLo and it's better to use it at a good opportunity than to wait for a perfect one that might never come. Since Preservation invested in me, I'm going to pay them back with some extra money in the UltPres fund. (Yes, I am making that pun) Here, have 16 cents.
  23. Ostrich I tried to kill them with my Grandbow in the night because I'm certain that they just needed one more cycle for their evil plans but I was Invested by Preservation. (Anybody who was on Sel can look in last cycles doc and confirm that I said so right at the end of the cycle)
  24. @Saffron Iguana, your argument is basically that the elims would have originally been planning to bus Rhino and that elim!me would have missed the change in plan. Village!me would have done the exact same actions - voting on Rhino because they seemed suspicious then missing the shift to Ostrich due to being offline. Since my actions are the same whether I’m a villager or an elim, this is by definition NAI. Plus, you also effectively did the exact same thing as I did - you initially voted on Rhino and didn't post after the Ostrich train started in force. If you're a villager, then I don't see why you would think that me taking the exact same actions as yourself would make me an elim, which makes me suspect that you might be an elim projecting your own actions onto myself. Also, you said that the elims probably decided to bus Ostrich, but I don’t think that’s the case since Rhino decided to die in their place, practically guaranteeing that they'll be exe'd next cycle anyways. This indicates to me that Ostrich is an important elim role (possibly Odium) and just needs one more cycle to enact their plans. I'm going to be in class for the next few hours, so I won't be able to reply.
