  1. Rane moved across the deck. So many new faces, yet they felt so . . . familiar. Like he knew the voices but a veil disguised them. "There are saboteurs among us." he declared, to nobody in particular. "Shall we roll the dice?" He dropped the dice, watching as they tumbled and rolled. Beautiful. The randomness was beautiful. Men lived and died by the dice, fortunes won and lost, and it was just up to the whims of fate. Chaos. Beautiful chaos. "Salmon Meerkat, anything to say?"
  2. Rane Cauthon walked out of his cabin, yawning and stretching. "Morning, you lot. Anyone up for a game of dice?"

  4. Rise against oppressors!! Death is not real! Nothing is final! Kasimir, only you remain, and your end will come!!
  5. “You’re coming onto me quite suddenly, my good friend,” Alais said. He had a growing suspicion that Hayden (Cream Tuatara) was the saboteur.
  6. Alais responds, “I was a blacksmith, like my pops before me. We did some alloying, and I learned the ropes. One time I even did it for the Survivor hisself. I know to make them, but I dunno how their uses work.”
  7. “Hayden,” Alais said softly, “think about it. What would the eleventh metal be? It could be an alloy of gold, or it could be an alloy of atium. And only Mistborn can burn atium. We need to see this “eleventh metal.” We need its name, properties, and what it is. It could be more valuable than you think.”
  8. “Alais. Alais Short,” he said, reaching out a hand. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Acks “I’m hurt,” Alais states, “I’d trust you with my life.” He walks away from Acks with a short invitation to come with, then follows Hayden.
  9. “Come with me, and we’ll talk to ‘em,” he said, walking over to Acks @Coral Swan and sitting down. “So,” he started, leaning towards her, “do you burn metal?”
  10. “Well, it’s always good to have someone with investy-chur on my side. What about the crazy-eyed chick at the bar?” Alais said, gesturing to Acks, “She’s staring at half the inn. Let’s ask” He stands up halfway and takes a step toward the bar, gesturing for Hayden to follow. @Coral Swan
  11. “No nobility in my family tree, I’ll tell you that,” Alais said, with his hand still extended. It was getting a bit tired. “That’s an odd thing to say. Are you saying the killing was done with investy-chur?” He said, mangling the word, “I don’t much like that thought, myself.”
  12. “I’ll take the other side of that wager. In fact, I’ll pay your tab as well if I’m right.” Alais extends his hand, offering it to shake. “You’ve got yourself a deal”
  13. “Let’s shake on it first,” he said, extending a hand, “then we’ll see about any alternate action.” He rifled through his pockets, looking for more change. He figured he should have taken more of his dad’s stuff when he left. Alais’ dad was a bit of an odd character. He never went anywhere without this chain thingy. Pops, Loyalty Short, always used to talk about how lucky I was, he thought. And I went and spent that luck. Breaking eye contact with Kael, seemingly distracted, he leans over to the girl and says, “So, you’re really an orphan? Where’d you grow up?” @Ivory Dragonfly
  14. “And I’ll get the over. Is three boxings a good bet for you? I’d like to look at the books as well.”
  15. “Same terms as Ka- Kim— Kael! That’s right. Same terms as Kael had. Over or under, your choice. Girl can have my last name too if she wants. It don’t fit me, it was my pops’ nickname. My buddies and I joked about me having a noble last name ‘cause he had it. Eventually it stuck.” @Ivory Dragonfly “Hey,” he continued, “wanna bet on the saboteur? My senses tell me it’s that shifty guy by the bar who keeps looking at people weird. What’s his name? Acks?”
  16. “You’ve got that good merchant’s reckoning, then,” he said, shifting closer to Kael. “Let’s set an over-under. I’ll say that there’ll be 4 and a half days of this sabatoge panic trite, then it’ll die down, or we’ll just die. Do you want the over or under?” @Fuchsia Ostrich
  17. Alais looks up and calls to the bartender, “Three beers for these fine folks and myself, and whatever the girl wants, contingent on them hearing me out.” @Fuchsia Ostrich @Ivory Dragonfly @Cream Tuatara
  18. Alais sits up a bit straighter and gruffly states, “This talk ain’t for you, little one.” He turns back toward Hayden, and says, “I’ve been hearing some rumors about sabatoge. It oughta have been done by a person. Do ya want to set some odds in which one?”
  19. Alais, a hulking man built like a rock, walks up to Hayden and sits down in a nearby chair. “Alais Short,” he says. “It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance. Do you want to make a bet?”
  20. Oops Elim Thug is what I was going for, in reference to Vulture. Definitely rules out the E!Thug Cham idea you raised, which is what I was thinking unlikely anyway. I'm saying that I'm not sure I see a need for a village Thug in the distro in light of a Lurcher, so I'm disbelieving Cham's thug claim.
  21. I... get the impression that people don't care for Albatrosses... Sorry for not being on, let me see if there's anything I can clear up. Lion Why are you the only person who refers to everyone by colour when everyone else uses animal... Just makes things unnecessarily confusing... >> Anyways, I got tied up earlier than I expected, but when I did glance in and did the vote count, Ostrich had already identified as being Aman, so I sorta just rolled my eyes and assumed it was a case of bored villagers that would turn into a more serious voting chaos at the end of the turn. Was a little surprised that it stuck, tbh... Kangaroo Beagle Couldn't quickly find your thoughts, I guess is there any reason why? Scorpion As above, I had a little time while also getting ready to head out for the day, but only ended up glancing once, where I saw someone ask for a vote count, so I dropped that in. What I noticed of the Ostrich thing was, as I said, something that just looked like another Cham, but if anything looked more like bored players joking around with each other. But I then had to keep moving and wasn't going to be on the rest of the cycle so didn't really think any further of it. I asked what FUD was twice earlier in the game, but no one answered... Where were you when I needed you then? As I think I explained earlier, being just behind the leading trains is precarious, particularly when one of the leading options isn't already voting for you. Really wanted to avoid killing people I wasn't suspicious of, and didn't want to accidentally upset the balance in a way that put be at the top of the pack. Felt like there were five new messages every few minutes, so it was more important to me to keep an eye on how thread was changing in case I was forced to defend myself if the balance shifted that way anyway, then lost track of when cycle end. Regarding not considering e!Thug!Cham, that just didn't seem likely to me. I don't recall the specifics of when they claimed, but it felt villagery to me at the time. For an elim, I feel like claiming Thug is a better option when you're not a thug - the thug claim is a fairly strong deterrent for any kill (execution or night kill), so unless there's a bored coinshot who feels like testing the claim, you're probably pretty safe to make the claim if you never give thread a strong enough reason to actively seek your death. An elim thug I'd view as better kept as a secret so that village accidentally wastes an execution, or a village coinshot/mistborn wastes their kill instead of disregarding you because of the claim and increasing the chances of unprotected elim allies getting shot. I mean, I guess E!Cham!Thug is possible, if the claim gets you strong enough village reads from it? But dunno. Feels significantly less likely than the alternatives I did suggest. I'm careful to not show any more information than I intend to share always. It's not my fault if everyone else's poor opsec makes that unusual and suspicious... Pointing out that I do mention Tuatara, but also, when two of the known Spiked died from the inactivity filter and the post is about the chaotic posting right at the end of cycle, doesn't seem so hard to me. Not a lot I can do about if the known elims didn't post at the end of cycle. Though I doubt any vote I'm casting will do any good, not inclined to continue to vote on Lion as their defending of me doesn't seem very elimy to me. More inclined to vote for Chameleon in the end. Had been leaning towards Village Thug, but now that we've seen a village lurcher and an elim spiked, the thug claim seems more suspect to me.
  22. Fwiw, I'm gonna be around for the next 90 min, then I'll be heading off to my place of worship and won't be available for the rest of cycle, so if you need anything from me, ask me before then.
