  1. Post above continued. Quartz Zebra: I'm not that keen on this post, for reasons aside the obvious fact Quartz Zebra is voting for me. Their reason for their vote (agreeing with the other vote on me (which was at the time retracted anyway)) feels very flimsy - the previous vote had been made in entirely different circumstances, and they didn't provide any justification for why they agreed with it. That said, with time to reflect on it, and given the circumstances of the votes on Mauve, I am slightly less wary of them - I think I was an unlikely lynch target at this point, and not really a viable option for a push to save Mauve. Amber Vulture: Getting too tired to analyse much of the content of posts. That said, worth noting again that frankly any vote at this stage of the cycle on Mauve Crocodile is more likely to be from a villager than an eliminator bussing him. Taupe Gecko: Not much to say here, given later developments last cycle and their convenient survival this last cycle. Sapphire Elephant: Trying to interpret this is giving me a headache, but essentially condemns Sage to death without mentioning them once - which feels pretty off. Perhaps too overt for an eliminator, though. With my headache and reaching the end of D1, going to leave it here for a bit, but will return to press on later this evening.
  2. Carrying on my analysis, as I've just had a commitment cancelled and thus have more time. Hopefully someone posts whilst I'm writing this, as I'd prefer not to double post. Sapphire Elephant: Sapphire Elephant seems to get the same discomfort from Magenta Albatross' post as I have. Mild village read from this - but I can't recall whether their view evolves later on. Onyx Flamingo: As an aside, I strongly support Onyx Flamingo's position on letting neutral players have fun. Well worth remembering that as a good way to approach games. Strong village read on Onyx Flamingo for this, breaking the vote back onto an eliminator late in the cycle. Unless Sage Kangaroo is also an eliminator (which I seriously doubt), I would clear Onyx Flamingo for this. Azure Mouse: A sensible enough suggestion regarding vote altering locations - particularly as the eliminators are much more likely to have this knowledge anyway by virtue of having players on multiple planets and a doc to coordinate. Coral Swan: Normally I'm not keen on throwing suspicion on a player and then not voting for them, particularly as votes can be retracted. I'm not sure how to feel about this one - I get a village gut read on this post, but it could well be the case that they sort village reads if Mauve flipped without wanting to make that more likely. Edit: Will possibly end up triple posting - ended up sending this before I meant to, and am still plodding on through the thread.
  3. Well, I'll do my best to carry on my analysis, although catching up with the thread seems like an effort potentially made in vain, unless I decide to give up more sleep than I wish to. Charcoal Hyena: I am not the most convinced by the reasoning given here for Charcoal Hyena's vote on Sage Kangaroo. Their reason for voting is identical to my own, made at the very beginning of the cycle, with this towards the end, where plenty of other (more valuable) information had been generated. No more than a mild elim read on this, though, if at all. Violet Axolotl: Strong village read on Violet Axolotl for this post, effectively flipping the lynch focus back onto Crocodile. Azure Mouse: Azure here responds to Violet Axolotl calling into question Charcoal Hyena having been able to PM on D1. I'm not quite sure how I feel about setting Azure on edge for asking questions of the GMs - it is, to me, something completely NAI. Opal Lion: Opal, in response to Sage Kangaroo asking for opinions on their neutrals claiming idea. I think Invention might be thought to be at greater risk of being killed by the eliminators to prevent items going to the village, but I'm not sure I agree with that argument strongly - the neutral shards are quite capable of offering value to both sides, and to provide incentive for both to work with them. Magenta Albatross: I'm afraid I really do not like this post. It was D1. There is never enough information for D1 lynches. Backing out of trying to engage anyway both ensures the low-information game state is perpetuated, and is a brilliant way to avoid being analysed yourself. The second part I have emphasised here also makes me feel uncomfortable. Not quite "virtue-signalling", but stating an obvious good thing, and not participating in it at all reminds me of many inexperienced eliminators I've seen historically. I would be very keen to hear from @Magenta Albatross further, but would also consider them a valid lynch target even on the basis of this post alone.
  4. For the benefit of all: Violet Axolotl (0): Azure Mouse <1> Chartreuse Penguin (0): Opal Lion <1> Taupe Gecko (4): Violet Axolotl, Onyx Flamingo, Saffron Iguana <2>, Charcoal Hyena Turquoise Gorilla (1): Taupe Gecko <1>, Opal Lion <2> Charcoal Hyena (0): Saffron Iguana <1> Coral Swan (1): Oxblood Beagle Sapphire Elephant (1): Quartz Zebra Cream Tuatara (0): Azure Mouse <2> Oxblood Beagle (3): Fuchsia Ostrich, Azure Mouse <3>, Taupe Gecko <2> Opal Lion (2): Melon Dingo, Plum Rhinoceros
  5. That particular segment of the analysis @Opal Lion, no. That said, it has long been my belief, which I maintain, that it is just as important to find villagers, reducing the search space, as it is to work on finding eliminators. As I continue to work through the thread, I shall make clear those I find suspicious. You will note I am still on day one of my analysis. In my experience, finding eliminator tells on day one is materially harder than clearing villagers.
  6. Please forgive any issues caused by formatting. I am attempting to continue this analysis on mobile. Sapphire Elephant: To summarise the above, Sapphire Elephant suggests the neutral shards can help the village, and righty questions Sage Kangaroo’s assertion that the village should ignore them once they have claimed. He then is the first vote (as far as I can tell) on Mauve Crocodile, and gives a well reasoned explanation for said vote. Azure Mouse: Azure Mouse expresses suspicion of me here. They are not the first to do so, and I am somewhat wary of some of the later players to do so as taking an easy route to contribute, but Azure’s suspicion I know was better grounded having interacted with me on Sel. Mauve Crocodile: If I am interpreting this correctly, Mauve was suggesting that their vote on Axolotl was for Axolotl considering my initial vote hasty. I know Mauve is evil, but frankly agree with the point they are making here. From this I’m getting more of a village read on Axolotl. Violet Axolotl: Including this merely to give context to Mauve Crododile’s next post, which is in response to this. Mauve Crocodile: In addition to making a great deal of sense (and thereby reminding us that exhortations and encouragements to activity aren’t remotely alignment indicative), this to me feels like a genuine interaction with Axolotl. I very much doubt they are on the same team. Opal Lion: The second vote on Mauve Crocodile. Violet Axolotl astutely asks in response to this why Opal Lion is voting on Mauve Crocodile, as they seem to be agreeing. Opal then responds as such: I would be very surprised if an eliminator would vote in such a manner for their teammate, for the reasons given above - not knowing about the prior vote, and on gut alone. From this, I consider Opal Lion essentially cleared. At this point, our esteemed GM provides the vote count as follows: This is highly relevant when we consider Mauve Crocodile’s next post. Mauve Crocodile: This is in response to @Violet Axolotl requesting votes be consolidated. Given how few votes were on any candidate at this moment, and that Mauve Crocodile, being on Braize, could essentially turn any player into a lynch contender, I think Mauve choosing to vote on Sage Kangaroo clears Sage Kangaroo pretty well. Other obligations call, so I shall have to leave this here for now. For those of you who won’t read longer posts, my conclusions are in summary that @Opal Lion and @Sage Kangaroo can be cleared, and that I get village reads from @Sapphire Elephant and @Violet Axolotl.
  7. Fuchsia Ostrich, I’d be grateful if you’d confirm the name of the aspect on your planet, if you feel so kind.
  8. Magenta Albatross: Emphasis my own, to highlight the game relevant part of the post. Very little beyond stating the obvious here, which I'm not the most keen on so far into the cycle. Violet Axolotl: Probably a difference in philosophy of these games, then. In my experience, particularly in early cycles, without putting lynch votes behind what one says, it it very difficult to generate responses in thread. Mauve Crocodile: Including this mainly to ensure I look at all of Mauve Crocodile's posts in the game. Not an alignment indicative comment, and therefore a safe argument to have with Violet Axolotl, although I have a gut read that their interaction was genuine, and not constructed in a doc. Consequently, moderate village read on Violet Axolotl. Amethyst Scorpion: At this point @Amethyst Scorpion has a poke vote on them from Violet Axolotl. They offer essentially a poke vote themselves, and ask a player for thoughts whilst providing none on the game themselves. It somewhat irks me that I cannot compare this to normal behaviour for this player, but in the absence of this I shall consider this a weak to moderate evil read. Fuchsia Ostrich: @Fuchsia Ostrich, why do you think the eliminators would strike those who claimed? I repeat my earlier assertion in response to @Violet Axolotl. I can't see why the eliminators would have any issue with the neutral shards. Coral Swan: I have previously stated that the part of this I have emphasised gives me a pretty strong village read on Coral Swan. It disincentives the eliminators from working with the neutral shards, breaking earlier consensus in thread. Scarlet Octopus: Nothing of note here at all, although at least they admit it. Worth noting that they did not come to Shadesmar after all. Azure Mouse: I can't recall seeing anything of note (potentially anything at all - I don't intend to check again for RP only posts) from Saffron Iguana before this. @Azure Mouse, was this simply a poke vote? I'm going to call it here for today - I ought not to carry this on too late into the evening. I shall complete my analysis tomorrow and shall then vote.
  9. Going to attempt a multiquote. Forgive any formatting errors, please. Sage Kangaroo: This was Sage Kangaroo's first post, and the basis of my C1 early vote on them. I think this irked me on two counts - both underlying dislike of playing against what I perceived the spirit of the game to be, but also, as I said, I believe it to be highly advantageous for the eliminators to know where the Neutral Shards are held. In my post, I suggested that this was to allow them to take players off their potential kill list, but on further reflection it also opens the way for the eliminators to work with the Neutral Shards, two of which have an incentive to make contact with the eliminators anyway. I'll freely admit to my vote having been based on less thought than that at the time, but won't re-tread the ground of having attempted to drive conversation again here. Violet Axolotl: When going through to make this multi-quote, this read as off to me, as I didn't think Violet Axolotl had contributed their own thoughts. Indeed, I had missed their post entirely. On a re-read, they had indeed posted, but it was mostly RP, and then a poke-vote without in game justification on Amethyst Scorpion - not to me contributing thoughts of their own. Admittedly this was an early post, but @Violet Axolotl, I'd be grateful if you'd expound on your hounding Penguin without really providing information yourself? Sapphire Elephant: Not much to analyse here, beyond noting that Sapphire Elephant is contributing beyond RP, which has otherwise made up the vast majority of the cycle thus far in my read through. Sensible enough advice, but also obvious enough not to be alignment indicative in the slightest. Violet Axolotl: Consistently active, but not saying much of great note. Very, very mild elim read off this. Violet Axolotl (again): Does anyone know whether Axolotl claimed something in the Roshar doc that would warrant their needing protection? Also, @Violet Axolotl, if you have any means by which you might PM me, I'd be much obliged. Turquoise Gorilla: My own post trying to start some non-RP discussion. Before this point, I must confess, I hadn't been reading the RP looking for actual discussion points, and so prior to this thought there was naught but a poke-vote in the thread so far. Violet Axolotl: Referring to my above post. @Violet Axolotl, may I ask what you mean by this? Mint Heron: @Mint Heron, there had been some discussion prior to this - what was your rationale behind this poke vote? Quartz Zebra: I can't find the demands to which you refer here, @Quartz Zebra. Might you enlighten us as to what these are? Sage Kangaroo: Sage responds to Violet Axolotl here, and expounds in response to my own post as follows: @Sage Kangaroo here appears to be suggesting that the neutral players should claim and then be ignored by the village. Ignoring the merits of such a strategy, however sound, I must put on record my strong distaste for any strategy that condemns players to being unable to partake in the game. Mauve Crocodile: Nothing really to comment on here, but I thought it worth us all looking again at the players Mauve Crocodile requested PMs with. Violet Axolotl: @Violet Axolotl, whether Autonomy has that ability or not, they have a pretty onerous win condition to achieve, and as far as I can tell almost no incentive to roleblock Odium regardless. I am curious as to your train of thought here. I've already addressed Violet Axolotl's vote on me. I'd note that if I were doing an analysis such as this during the cycle itself, I would probably have found somewhere else to place my vote. For the sake of avoiding an unreadably long post, and out of terrible fear that the site will delete this, I shall post here, and carry on my analysis in a new post, whether today or tomorrow.
  10. It is worth noting, as Azure Mouse can verify, that Taupe Gecko said almost nothing in the Cycle 1 Sel document. I haven’t given any thought to whether this is alignment indicative, but it is certainly consistent behaviour.
  11. If my count is correct, Zebra, there isn’t a current vote on me. I’d be grateful if you might elucidate on your agreement with the other vote on me. My recollection is that it was placed for swiftly voting towards the start of the cycle - what about that do you agree with, and why? @Violet Axolotl, reviewing the early cycle, in your first reply to me you suggest you might “join me” presumably in my vote. Less than an hour later, you then vote on me. I’m curious as to the volte-face here.
  12. Well, I'll do my best to give you more to consider on me, Violet Axolotl, but I shall make no apology for my attempt to stimulate conversation. I got a reasonably strong village read on Coral Swan for their post at the top of this page - putting the idea in the head of the eliminators that the neutral shards can't be worked with. I, likewise, could do with a vote count, but if not provided will tally one myself shortly enough.
  13. It wasn’t a poke vote, in that I attempted to find some justification for the vote to see what discussion came of it. Prudence, I’d be much obliged if you could set me up with PMs with Mauve and with Violet.
  14. How do you propose the village find the best target to lynch just by waiting? We have to work to find said target, which we do through creating discussion and gathering information.
  15. Respectfully, what did you expect me to find beyond the obvious in the first cycle, with but a single prior post that wasn’t RP? By necessity C1 votes must be shallow, but their purpose is as much to stimulate discussion as it is to be accurate. I picked the only possible subject of discussion.
  16. Not really sure how to engage with all this rp, so partially just checking in. If Prudence is feeling kind, I'd appreciate PMs with players they consider interesting. 'fraid I can't spare the time to PM all of you, so here's hoping they're discerning. Who do you chaps feel like lynching today? Feels to me like we ought to get into the meat of the matter. For now, my vote is for Sage Kangaroo. Feels to me like an advantage for the elims to know where two shards are, and to take two players off their to kill list.
  17. Heyo Everyone! This was an awesome game!! Thank you for the writeups Elbereth and Fifth Scholar! They added so much to the game and provided an incredible narrative. I especially loved my death scene! I could not have asked for better! A few thoughts for this game- I rarely RP and I usually have even fewer PMs, but this game I decided to try starting one with everyone. Unfortunately my busy schedule only permitted me to get a pm with about a third of you and I died early so I couldn't fix that! I wish I could have had PMs with everyone! I think this is the most fun I've ever had playing SE and it was because of the people I was able to play with in secret as much as in thread! I have often thought that discussion in PMs was a wasted effort because the time I spent there was time I should have been using to analyze the thread and any suspicions I voiced should have been in the thread for everyone to see anyway! Special thanks to Violet Axolotl, Salmon Meerkat, Plum Rhinocerous, and Scarlet Octopus for showing me how much private messages can add to the fun of the game! I will be altering my playstyle accordingly going forward. @Chartreuse Penguin , I was so excited to fight you! Our gambles should have been the making of legends, but perhaps we will have the chance in another life!
  18. Truly a sage! Are these hints for the Edgedancer code? Sadly I have ruled out about a dozen ciphers and codes already with no luck! It seems I have been too focused on playing the game and not on solving the game! I am not caught up on the thread and might not be in time to make an educated vote. I feel suspicious of Rhinocerous which is a shame because I have enjoyed our PM and they have been very active in thread! It looked like they were likely to be eliminated where I was reading and I was going to suggest we don't lynch the most active players first. Looking at the lynch it still looks like two other fairly active players are up for the lynch, but I don't know which to save! I guess I get to continue to play the gambler and let the chips fall where they may! I will try to I catch up so I can offer a better analysis!
  19. "That's an interesting way to read what I wrote. I was hoping people wouldn't change the votes so that we could have a truly random result, but I suppose chaos is as effective a tool whether decided by the odds or the unknown workings of those among us. We certainly gain more information by encouraging the use of our new radiant powers so by all means mess with the votes!" "Other than that, Axolotl's summary seems astute! I am glad for a list of those who have yet to join us! Perhaps we should form a search party! @Onyx Flamingo @Quartz Zebra What secrets can you reveal?" "It looks like @Sunburst Toucan and @Quartz Zebra are the two likely to die. Clearly, I am happy to leave it at that as I'm sure the luckier will survive.
  20. I too am excited to see where this hysteria leads. It would be a shame to deprive you of the risk that I so desire. Penguin. I'll throw my hat back into the ring for a moment while I take a closer look at what we've learned. Gorilla
  21. "Ah Taldir, I see we meet at the tables again! I never would have thought to see you at the tables again after handing you a steaming pile of defeat all that time ago!" "I'm grateful for your challenge! I do believe you enjoy a gamble almost as much as I do. Let us allow all around us to join in! Taldir, I find as I get older the only stakes worth playing for are life and death." "As for the rest of you, I believe there may be one or two among you who have the surge of division. I ask you to avoid use here as it drastically alters odds and the odds are my gods! I'd imagine there may be two or three worldhoppers as that role seems fun, but unpredictable. That leaves 20 of the rest of us which I doubt would be very far from evenly split." "May the chaos ensue my friends and enemies!"
  22. "Aw man. You mean I don't get to choose this time? What do you mean I picked last time? Ugh. I wanna pick all the times. I'm picking Amethyst Scorpion. What do you mean I could have picked 'em yesterday? I wanna kill 'em now. Who cares what I said yesterday?"
  23. Vote Count: Taupe Gecko (1): Coral Swan Amethyst Scorpion (1): Violet Axolotl Quartz Zebra (1): Saffron Iguana Azure Mouse (2): Oxblood Beagle, Turquoise Gorilla Cream Tuatara (1): Charcoal Hyena "innie minnie mini moe. Catch a tiger, by the toe. If he hollers let him go. My mother told me to pick the very best one and you are not it! Okay, Azure Mouse. That means you get to go first! Show me what color your insides look like. Pretty please? I bet their squishy. C'mon, I wanna see 'em. Open sesame!"
