Anniversary Game 4/Anonymous Game 1: A Fresh Start

Wyrmhero's RP characters in these games were part of the Heron family. Kas and Wyrm merged after being Dulabros, becoming Wyrmimir or Kashero, depending on the time of day. It just happens to be very Serendipitous that they should end up with the Heron account. Why would you have been forgotten!? D:- 1054 replies

Hmm. So people complained about me hiding my experience. But I don't recall Axolotl coming across as an experienced player either. Which Alv most definitely is. And obviously, Axolotl was a villager. @Mint Heron That reminds me - there's no way that your animal wasn't handpicked for you- 1054 replies

Anniversary Game 4/Anonymous Game 1: A Fresh Start
Azure Mouse replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Bah. Worst time to have a busy two days. And now it's late. Unless Dragonfly is an elim, which I don't think they are, or for some reason they were hoping for someone to counter claim him about soothing a vote off Scorpion (which seems incredibly unlikely), I feel like that lynch, with Vulture being a villager, was way too close for Scorpion to have be an eliminator, meaning I feel less inclined to lynch Scorpion. I will opt for Axolotl, based on the weirdness of possibly trying for a late RNG lynch... Seems off, though I'm tired, so I may change it if I'm any more awake before end of cycle.- 1054 replies

Anniversary Game 4/Anonymous Game 1: A Fresh Start
Azure Mouse replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Though obviously I'd rather not be lynched, not that this is likely a very good endorsement, but I'd not at all be in favour of a Heron lynch. I've got nothing... The bondsmith wasn't me, otherwise I probably wouldn't have shifted my vote off Falcon, or at least not as soon as I did. So my best guess is that it's an eliminator ploy to focus lynch discussion on me to give them another free cycle... I do wonder if the eliminators were just happy to have a 3 way tie on 3 villagers. I would possibly return to Scorpion, but now I feel I need to reconsider the others... Going to be out for a bit, so I'll do that in a few hours.- 1054 replies

@Mint Heron I thought I'd used the term 'Disciple of Kas' before as referring to me, but I can't actually find any reference to it. Meh. I identify as such. Strike me down, and then you'll believe that I consider myself as such. Anyhow, you were once a lover of Wilson, and I chose you over her at the start of that game. I wrote you poetry before I gave Wilson a Name. And everyone should be disciples of Kas, irrespective of other alignments. @Fuchsia Ostrich This, from Axolotl: Is exactly why I wanted to hide my identity. I got N1 killed in LG19 because the town vig role wanted to try get my head for Alv's bounty.- 1054 replies

:'( Can't complain about that soothing of a vote off me. Though I have to wonder if that was soothing Falcon's vote off Vulture and they didn't get back on. Less likely than an elim soothing though. I read that more as the elims having a three way village lynch, and just deciding to troll us by basically ensuring I get lynched next cycle to give them a victory...- 1054 replies

Anniversary Game 4/Anonymous Game 1: A Fresh Start

One can be a disciple of Kas and the Herald of the Brightness Ascendant. Being a disciple of Kas is about preaching PM safety. That's not mutually exclusive with spreading the Word about the Brightness Ascendant. And I'm sure that I've referred to myself as a Disciple of Kas. Only, maybe not to you. Pretty sure I have to Wilson, but she's quite obviously not in this game. I think I've referred to myself that way in docs, or maybe direct messages, but I don't know if we have an El in this game to summon that sort of knowledge either. I would rather not do this, but I don't think I can avoid it either... Falcon, Scorpion Edit: I mean Falcon, Scorpion.- 1054 replies

So I was hoping that if I got more votes, there'd be specific issues raised that maybe I could respond to. Instead I get two votes just so there's a 3 way tie, with only one actually having suspicions, albeit expressed in a barely explained table of percentages...- 1054 replies

Anniversary Game 4/Anonymous Game 1: A Fresh Start
Azure Mouse replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Figured I'd wait around to see if there were any immediate responses to my post. That's an incredibly worrying reason to vote at this stage unless you think both are evil. The only reason I won't immediately switch my vote is that I don't think an eliminator would do that. It seems too obviously an elim view... But then, I'm sure everyone would agree that the elims haven't necessarily played how we'd expect them to. 6 lynches in, with some vig kills for added measure and we're yet to take one out... Eh. Scorpion Falcon. That's more suspicious to me than most anything Scorpion has done...- 1054 replies

Anniversary Game 4/Anonymous Game 1: A Fresh Start
Azure Mouse replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Hasn't yet. It was pending me looking at Toucan and Albatross, and seeing if anything came up during the cycle. And I've not gotten to them yet because of sleep, and because of a long day at uni. But I'll try to now. Hmm... Beagle was the first player I committed to putting a vote on, that was part of it. I think the other suspicions I've had of people who've died were Weasel and Flamingo. And because I've been going back and forth on Flamingo (although looking back on my posts, I didn't vocalize that at all like I thought I had, so well spotted Heron, and I guess all I can say is that is what I was doing at the time, but I guess all you have is my word on that...), I never went after Flamingo to feel the need to apologize. And then Beagle versus Weasel, well, Beagle I thought was actually ultimately making useful contributions to the discussion, which we now obviously know were from a village perspective. So losing Beagle was quite unfortunate. Other than the village being down another player, I don't feel like we lost as much from Weasel dying. Sigh... RPing everything is admirable, but it's a massive pain to read and extract a players game relevant discussion from... I'm not sad that the forum moved away from that as a general rule... But I guess lets look at Toucan. So, lots of summaries of reads. And actually decent ones, rather than the miserable attempts I've managed to put together. There's some nice thoughts there. Not necessarily many votes. I didn't keep track of their reads enough to see if they ever updated their reads later, which would possibly be worthwhile if they didn't, given the length of time of which said reads were done. Anyway, looking through their posts, I like their reads. Much better than mine. I feel like I remember people trying to either link Albatross and Toucan or saying they couldn't be on the same team, plus my read on Albatross somewhat depended on Albatross. Well, I'm getting a village read on Toucan, and I think their vote on Scorpion makes sense. So then of my original list, I think I am going to leave my vote on Scorpion. Because I think Vulture and Toucan are much more villagery. Though I think Toucan would be my true village read, and only slight on vulture. Edit: Anyway, I have to sleep now. I normally wake up around the time of rollover, but I'll try and get up a bit early in case anyone wants me to respond to something.- 1054 replies

Anniversary Game 4/Anonymous Game 1: A Fresh Start
Azure Mouse replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Eh, I always preferred Wyrmimir - seems more divine. Or at least Norse. I thought I'd said when I gave my town read that I was pretty unsure about them. I was going back and forth on them, but as of that first read, I'd decided what made me uneasy of them could be attributed to a villager. Then there was the swan lynch and reflecting on their involvement on that, it revived that unease, making me lean more Elim on them at the Tuatara lynch. I don't think it's inherently suspicious for a recurring player to want to hide their identity in an anonymous game. Afterall the whole point of this class of game is avoid or at least minimize the ability to use the meta or players existing understanding of how other players do things. I've tried to be as useful as I can, but uni has made it hard to be as active as I'd like.- 1054 replies

Anniversary Game 4/Anonymous Game 1: A Fresh Start
Azure Mouse replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Sigh… Et Tu, Kas? There's a good reason for the things you're suspicious of, @Mint Heron. I hadn’t suddenly learned actually what PM safety is, when I summarized what you were saying. That was me, a Disciple of Kas, being no longer able to withhold myself from destroying ignorance, and breaking character because of it. The initial question about PM safety was meant to provide an opportunity for those recurring players who didn't care too much about hiding their experience to explain it for the benefit for everyone else, particularly if we did have new players. Turns out we did, and we still had people pretty late in the game still not understanding the issue with PM safety. The initial responses displeased me, but by then I had a character I was playing, and it wouldn't make sense for them to correct people after asking the question. And I really didn't want to break character - it's been nice to not have to worry about people's expectations based on my previous games. But that's the reason for the response about PM safety, and also my town read on Heron. I'd like to think I know them well enough to know if they're village, though I guess I've not seen them play an evil character. But they've been saying things I've had in my head, and that's really hard to give an eliminator read on.- 1054 replies

Anniversary Game 4/Anonymous Game 1: A Fresh Start
Azure Mouse replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Alright, so I said I wanted to look closer at Scorpion, Vulture, Toucan, and Albatross. So Scorpion. Through to Day 4, not a whole lot of anything. Is a nice townie sentiment, which I should honestly do more. There's a few votes, a few suspicions, but not much to go on. Was after the Day 4 lynch. But we never got any further comment on that. There was something of a tunnel on Dragonfly, which I think was part of why I had a slight town read on them - didn't feel much like a mafia play, but then it seems our expectations of what a mafia would do haven't helped us thus far. So not sure if it's worth putting as much stock in that... The rest of the posts are short and don't convey all that much information. I think Falcon's post Day 6 about Scorpion sums up my thoughts: Definitely going down to a neutral read on them, and I don't think I'd have too many concerns about putting a vote on them. Vulture Like everyone, starts off with not a lot. They have produced some good content. Still leaning town on them I think, though they admit to carefully considering how all their posts are viewed, regardless of alignment. Sounds like they could be well practiced at producing a village presence. I should probably look at the details of the lynches like Dragonfly, to get a better fell for the context in which they posted. I'll return to that in another post I think. And because I get distracted, posts take longer than they should to write... :{( I need a break, and need to do a few other things, and then I'll get back to it with a a look at Toucan and Albatross, and I should probably respond to Heron. Edit: At this stage, thinking I will put a vote on Scorpion. There's a fair chance I'll move it once I get that other post done, but its there for the moment.- 1054 replies

Anniversary Game 4/Anonymous Game 1: A Fresh Start
Azure Mouse replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Alright. So I should actually have time tomorrow to post a bit, and do more detail analysis. Looking at what I have, yeah, some of them are a bit brief (though in part it's hard when there's low post counts, or lots of fluff). Town reads would be Heron, Zebra, maybe Chameleon (they're low active, but otherwise I'm feeling townie). I'm neutralish on Flamingo, Ostrich, Falcon. Weasel was my only proper maf lean, but well... you know. My list of people to look at closer though would be Scorpion (my notes are old and brief), Vulture (same reason), Toucan and Albatross as a pair. I think most of the others fit somewhere in that townie to neutral zone, or are too inactive to really tell. Maybe I'll have a closer look at that tomorrow too.- 1054 replies

Anniversary Game 4/Anonymous Game 1: A Fresh Start
Azure Mouse replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
True. :{D Though the cycle doesn't quite feel like the right situation for it. I guess I'll put down a vote on weasel - I do have a slight Elim read because of some of their votes, though I was hoping to have a bigger suspicion before commiting, though I guess that's not how these things work. Plus at this point we've wasted the cycle anyway, and doing anything else is either going to be irrelevant, or is going to waste more of our time...- 1054 replies

Azure Mouse replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
There isnt, but as far as Herons concerned, I don't think that's the issue with PM safety. They've been saying that people are way more likely to role claim in PMs, which is super dangerous if you claim to a mafia. I'm guessing that part of the problem could be revealing that you're a less important role would help them find a more important one maybe?- 1054 replies

Azure Mouse replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
A Dustbringer kill would be nice, but unless they've been holding out on us, I think we've got to wait for a Worldhopper to get the Dustbringer role again, which is even less likely because they've already had it once. Though then again, unless there's two Worldhoppers, they must have gotten Edgedancer twice for us to have PMs this cycle. I haven't done a reread through of their posts yet, so maybe I'll try do that now. I think with Dragonfly, the things you reference in this post feel slightly villagery, with Dragonfly's response to that post alligning pretty well to my own assessment. I do want to look closer though. Oh, and @Plum Rhinoceros That's fair. And I did end up missing the end of cycle (I got on only a few minutes before, and cycle closed as I caught up on the last dozen posts). I'll do that this next cycle.- 1054 replies
