Long Game 49/Anonymous Game 3: Window to the Past
Azure Mouse replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Torol Sadeas tried to hold onto his glass of wine, but all he accomplished was to keep the glass while the wine flowed out of the top. "What in damnation?" He watched as his wine fell to the floor and moved across the room. It seemed all the wine in the room was doing the same thing. All of it was headed to one place: Wit. Sadeas called out to the infernal man. "I hope you can drink all that. Then maybe you'll finally be a pleasant feast companion, passed out faster than dear Dalinar.- 1062 replies

Azure Mouse replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
"Brightness Aesudan, the point of having a party with the Alethi is to engage in politics," said Sadeas as he found her talking with one of the Parshendi. Really, if you couldn't enjoy some political maneuvering, what was the point of even attending. It surely wasn't the company.- 1062 replies

Torol sat, somewhat horrified by what was happening around him. Men... singing? Would they begin reading and writing too? Madness. That's just not the Alethi way. Where were the duels? Leave the music, book and arts to the women.- 1062 replies

Long Game 49/Anonymous Game 3: Window to the Past
Azure Mouse replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
"Adolin, welcome back." Sadeas smiled as he watched the boy enter. "I do hope we can get over the unpleasantness of earlier. For your father's sake." Though he'd helped remove Adolin, Sadeas no longer considered him a danger. Those concerns of a possible plot were quelled, though a little late to avoid throwing the boy out. The paper Adolin brought in was curious. The women of the party were buzzing about what it said. It was just interesting enough to spark his curiosity, so he approached his wife. "Ialai, what do you make of it?"- 1062 replies

Long Game 49/Anonymous Game 3: Window to the Past

Torol couldn't tell who'd been hiding among the rafters, but it honestly didn't surprise him. It took no stretch of the imagination to believe someone, who was not invited to the feast, had found their way inside with the chulls to spy. It also wasn't any different than the guests of the party were themselves doing - spying, eavesdropping and manipulating each other to fulfill their own goals. What a wonderful party, Sadeas thought. He just needed to go about his business knowing that someone - anyone - might be prying into it and sharing secrets.- 1062 replies

Sadeas listened to Wit, for once actually believing what he said. But there was something he needed to clear up. "I can promise you, I do not harbor any I'll feelings for or motives against the Kholins. Gavilar is a good friend, and I respect him enough to respect his family. I do regret, somewhat, having Adolin ostracized. However, I could not quite allow myself to believe your words, considering you compared me to a moss-covered rock in that same half-hour. I still cannot be sure that you do not hold a desire to see me dead. "In order to show that I will not harm the Kholins, allow me to work with you towards your goal." (Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe there are votes to ostracize this turn, as this would be a 'night' turn in a regular game.)- 1062 replies

Sadeas saw a servant pick a piece of paper off the floor and read it. Thinking it might be something important, Sadeas called to the girl. "You there, let me see that." Upon reading it, he shook his head and pushed the paper back to her. "Why do I get the feeling Wit has something to do with this?" Whether there were actually chulls in the palace, or whether Wit was calling them all chulls, he wasn't certain. Though he assumed the latter since he'd been fond of comparing Sadeas himself with the beasts already that evening.- 1062 replies

"I find this a disturbing," Sadeas said. "Though I don't like the idea of myself being a target, it is inexcusable to even contemplate patricide. It is a poor sign indeed when the King's Wit has to provide a voice of reason against such an action."- 1062 replies

Torol watched Wit attempt to impersonate a Herald with a bit of shocked amusement. However, there were more important things to worry about at the moment. Even so early in the night, he'd heard too many rumors of people planning attacks. He'd even heard of someone getting attacked already, though unsuccessfully. The most troubling thing, though, were the rumors against himself. He was a Highprince. He should be above such plots. No one should dare attack a Highprince, let alone Sadeas himself, a friend of the king. Sadeas stood to make an announcement, explaining the rumors and what he'd found. "I have finally tracked the source of those rumors, to Adolin Kholin of all people." Sadeas was incredulous when he heard the news. The young son of Dalinar had wanted to kill him. "The child should be thrown out before causing any more trouble."- 1062 replies

"Queen Navani, it is good to see you're... enjoying yourself." Despite what Sadeas though of a lighteyes of her rank allowing themselves to grow so intoxicated in public, he didn't dare express such disappointment toward her. Gavilar, despite Sadeas' loyalty and their long friendship, might do something rash in response. "We were just wondering at your husband's reasoning for keeping a Wit. Allowing such a man to deride the king's closest friends and advisers is unusual at best."- 1062 replies

Sadeas grabbed the rock off his head and stared furiously at Wit. As much as he wanted to just kill the man, he knew there would be consequences. Instead, he dropped the rock to the floor, and turned to walk away. OOC: I'm dying with laughter. Remind me when this game is through to give you an upvote or two for that.- 1062 replies

Long Game 49/Anonymous Game 3: Window to the Past
Azure Mouse replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Torol Sadeas knew there were plans brewing in the room. You couldn't get so many important Alethi in one palace without having schemes in the work quietly in the background. Indeed, each person there seemed to have their own goals. What concerned him, however, were those hoping to create instability in Gavilar's kingdom, or even in Sadeas' own princedom. So he watched, knowing the civility of the evening would only last so long before someone threw the first punch. Some might call him a pessimist, thinking that a feast of this size would not end well. Sadeas, however, considered himself a realist. He knew the people in attendance, at least the Alethi. He knew what they were capable of accomplishing, if they felt it right. They, however, had nothing compared to Sadeas' drive. He would get what he needed, no matter what. He would protect Gavilar's kingdom. He looked around for someone to speak with, but they all seemed too close at the moment to Wit. Sadeas did not have time for such inane chatter, so he found another glass of only lightly-intoxicating wine, walked over to his wife, Ialai.- 1062 replies

"Don't we all have our own goals? I'm not sure what to think of most of them. They are..." he struggled to find the right word. "Different," he finally said, though he wanted to say something more along the lines of barbaric. He still did not understand why Gavilar insisted on peace with them. Torol pushed aside his plate as he finished eating, and looked up to his wife. He'd noticed her approach, just pushing the boundaries of decorum. He liked that about her. "Hello, my dear. Enjoying yourself this evening, I hope?"- 1062 replies

Long Game 49/Anonymous Game 3: Window to the Past
Azure Mouse replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Torol Sadeas sat finally, hoping to enjoy a meal before having to deal with the prattling conversations around him. He enjoyed politicking as much as any Alethi elite, probably more in some cases, but they were at a feast after all. He looked around at the gathered people and Parshendi. It had been a long road to get them there, to a kingdom united under Gavilar. He just still didn't understand why Gavilar insisted on befriending the Parshendi, when he could conquer them and bring them under the kingdom. Despite that, he would follow his friend and king, and do what was necessary to keep the Alethi the main power of Roshar.- 1062 replies

Torol Sadeas entered the room, head held high. He didn't exactly approve of what Gavilar had decided regarding the Parshendi. He'd rather conquer them than make peace with them. However, he was there to serve his king. Sadeas walked past Wit, rolling his eyes at the base insults. Why any king would insist on having a Wit was beyond him. They were always a waste of air.- 1062 replies

Oh. In that case, Amethyst Scorpion, Indigo Weasel, since he was the least suspious of the three before the Amber lynch, and therefore would be the ideal choice to swap on. Edit: Also, Mauve is currently failing the Kandra-test we've designed, so my vote may not be final just yet.
