Long Game 79/Anonymous Game 10: The Rhythm of Freedom
Mint Heron replied to Steeldancer's topic in Sanderson Elimination
….did Vulture really immediately attune warform? If so, we’re in trouble. I’ve been debating claiming for a very long time (just ask Rhino or Lion), and I think we need to reconsider everything if Vulture is warform. Because I am too. Our two top exe options are literally both warform. And we have about an hour left. And I won’t be back until about 30 minutes before.- 819 replies

I know we haven't, that's why I said the thing about the decayform. Because that's the only thing that makes sense to me. Why would we have not seen or heard anything about another scholarform throughout this entire game so far if there was another one?- 819 replies

Heron (6): Mouse, Vulture, Scorpion, Beagle, Rhino, Dragonfly Vulture (3): Falcon, Heron, Lion Weasel (2): Flamingo Flamingo (1): Tuatara @Opal Lion To answer your question, I have been very stressed about the fact that there is an exe on me. I was just doing something fun for most of yesterday, and I told myself I wasn't going to think about the game at all so I could just relax and have fun. Now that I am back, I am once again stressed. I really think Vulture is an elim. I've thought that all game, even if I've vacillated on other players or jumped on other players throughout the game. The fact that we haven't heard from another scholarform makes me really paranoid that Vulture is an elim, managed to get a PM with someone who grabbed a scholarform gem D1/N1 or maybe even D2, found out about their gem, then had them killed, probably used decayform on them as well. If there was another scholar out there, I think they're probably dead by now. @Indigo Weasel If you are at all still here, do you think you could put a vote on Vulture? Even if you won't be around later, that would be helpful.- 819 replies

Well, 5 votes on me is better than the 7 there were at one point. I think I'm going to have to begrudgingly agree with Falcon. I've already suspected Vulture a bunch throughout this game, and apparently there's more voidgems floating around now?? That just doesn't read well to me at all, especially with that second scholarform claim never popping up. So I'm going to move my vote from Scorpion to Vulture. Probably won't do anything to help me, but it's worth a shot. Heron (5): Lion, Mouse, Vulture, Scorpion, Beagle Vulture (2): Falcon, Heron Weasel (2): Flamingo Flamingo (1): Tuatara Scorpion (1): Heron Mouse (1): Rhino- 819 replies

Flamingo (2): Rhino, Tuatara Heron (6): Lion, Flamingo, Mouse, Vulture, Scorpion Scorpion (1): Heron Well, that’s unfortunate. Can’t say I’m surprised. I figured this would come eventually, with how off my reads/voting have been this game. Or, well, sort of. Most of the suspects I’ve had this game are still alive. Two of them are voting for me, one on Flamingo, and Falcon still hasn’t voted yet. I just don’t know what to make of this. I think I’m going to leave my vote where it is, mostly just wanted to make a new VC to show everyone what’s up with the votes. Also, there’s only 5 votes on me if Flamingo isn’t in mediationform, but I don’t see why they wouldn’t be. EDIT: I should also mention, I most likely won’t be on very much until shortly before rollover, or maybe 12-14 hours before rollover as well. Just depends.- 819 replies

Okay, I've been trying to figure out how to go about this and honestly? I have no clue. So, first, I've decided to get a vote count. Flamingo (4): Rhino, Tuatara, Vulture, Scorpion Heron (3): Lion, Flamingo This is assuming that Flamingo is being honest about actually being in mediationform, though we can't be certain of that. I think I'm going to vote for Scorpion. This is the only thing that makes any amount of sense to me. I don't believe that Flamingo is the Malibu, and either Scorpion was an elim or they got Malibu'd. New VC: Flamingo (4): Rhino, Tuatara, Vulture, Scorpion Heron (3): Lion, Flamingo Scorpion (1): Heron This is the only thing that makes sense to me. I haven't once gotten Malibu vibes from Flamingo, and I've suspected Scorpion in the past.- 819 replies

[OOC: It is currently a tie. I guess I am the one who has to decide who dies this turn. Of the three candidates for the exe, I only really truly suspect Tuatara. Though that is mostly because of early D1 things and a tone that just rubs me the wrong way still. I don't really suspect Beagle at all, and I personally think that the Beagle train is likely a reaction to Hyena getting a train on them out of nowhere. Convenient that Hyena shows up out of nowhere right as a train forms on him, yes? I think I am going to vote for.... Wow, okay, a lot just happened. Okay, after that all sorts itself out, my points still stand. I think I am going to vote for Hyena. Most of my suspicion for Tuatara has been driven by their first post in the game, and I really don't think they have done much to suspect since then. Though I am suspicious of their vote on Beagle. But I think, based solely on votes and timing of this turn, Hyena is our best bet. Here is the new VC: Hyena (4): Lion, Rhino, Vulture, Heron Tuatara (3): Mouse, Falcon, Beagle Beagle (3): Tuatara, Hyena, Dragonfly Heron (1): Flamingo Vulture (1): Scorpion This is nerve-wracking. I hope this is the right move.]- 819 replies

Here is the current VC: Tuatara (3): Mouse, Falcon, Beagle Falcon (2): Rhino, Heron Hyena (2): Lion, Flamingo Rhino (1): Vulture Vulture (1): Scorpion I am pretty okay with where the votes are now. Long Game 79/Anonymous Game 10: The Rhythm of Freedom
Mint Heron replied to Steeldancer's topic in Sanderson Elimination
[OOC: First off, here is a poorly formatted VC due to the restraints of the mobile text editor. Tuatara (2): Mouse, Falcon Rhino (1): Vulture Vulture (1): Scorpion Falcon (1): Rhino Hyena (1): Lion Second, why is that two of my suspicions are being voted on by someone else I suspect (Scorpion voting for Vulture and Falcon voting for Tuatara). Surely it’s not because some of them might actually be incorrect. Is it strange of me to suspect Falcon for going for what I feel like is a poorly reasoned vote on someone I do actually suspect for other reasons? Yes, I agree that not voting is odd, but there have been countless villagers in previous games that have spent most of their games not voting. I do not think this fact alone makes one an elim, and to me it looks like an elim trying to find any reason to vote on someone. Whether or not Tuatara is an elim like I believe they are doesn’t negate the fact that the reasons given for the vote on Tuatara feel odd to me. For this reason, and the odd feelings their tone has given me in the past, I shall vote on Falcon. I am trying to avoid reacting negatively to creating ties in this game, because I know that it is still only roughly a quarter of the way through the cycle. There is plenty of time for the tie to be broken, whether by myself or someone else. Take this as a promise that I shall move my vote later in the cycle if I need to prevent a tie. I’m not too upset about either of the current leading exe candidates. I am aware that my reasonings for them both being elims in my mind is…contradictory, at first glance, but I believe it works. Anyway, here is a the new VC, as of my vote: Tuatara (2): Mouse, Falcon Falcon (2): Rhino, Heron Rhino (1): Vulture Vulture (1): Scorpion Hyena (1): Lion In addition, I shall go ahead and say that I am in possession of a gem from the village stash. I will leave whether or not I used it a secret, to prevent from too much information going into elim hands.]- 819 replies

[OOC: For what it's worth, that PM was actually created on D2, not N1. As far as I am aware, Rhino was free to put in a form request action N1. I do think I am more likely to accept Rhino as village for now. The villagers were far more likely to gain warform gems than the elims were, and I highly doubt that the elims would attempt a WGG on one of their own, especially someone who was already getting suspected. The one possibility for it actually being a WGG is if they had planned this earlier in N3, and whoever had submitted the kill wasn't on to see the suspicion of Rhino grow. But I don't find that likely. Mostly because the elims wasting an extra life just seems strange to me.]- 819 replies

[OOC: I don't think I'm following the thought process here. First of all, there's nothing stopping the mavset-im for going for a gem, correct? I may have just been assuming that for some reason, but perhaps they both can't take a form and can't grab a gem to begin with. Second, what is the goal of learning who received PMs N2? [OOC: ….this is the punishment I deserve for not double checking my facts in that post. I mixed up which of you and Falcon it was that had said they didn’t trust Rhino and voted on them. Now I remember more of why I was suspecting Falcon. In my defense, I spent nearly an hour writing that post and thinking about what I wanted to do with my vote. I got a little carried away and clearly just a little bit confused. I am resisting the urge to react negatively to the fact that we are now tied up once again. I will be on for at least an hour before rollover, more if I’m lucky, so I will be on to ensure a successful removal around that time. Assuming no votes change until I’m next on, my plan is to remove my vote on Vulture to ensure we at least get an exe on Penguin. Not the most ideal situation, but it would have to do if it comes down to it.]- 819 replies

Chashen couldn't remember much of the previous night. She had meant to stay up and keep watch, but she had fallen asleep without even realizing it. Even with everything going on, her aging body could still find time to make her pass out. That was humbling for her. Shortly after she woke up, however, she was accosted by several of the other singers. They were accusing her of being one of the spies. Well, Chashen would just have to set them straight. [OOC: So, some thoughts. Also, apologies for disappearing for a bit. Life has been hectic lately. So, first off, I'm not even sure who you're referring to as my number one suspicion. In my mind, I have 3-4 players that I suspect so far, two of which were being voted on when it was the six way tie. I don't remember ever mentioning that I suspect any one of them more than any other player. Even if I had mentioned that I suspected one player more than the others, my personal philosophy on voting is that is always better to vote to add/create pressure than to try and make a new train. Going for a player I suspect a little less, but still suspect, that already has a vote or two is better than trying to start a whole new vote train. As for my reaction to everything with the Albatross train, my vote was, like I've said, made in order to make sure we had an exe, especially because I was unsure of when I'd next be able to get on. And I was tired and frustrated from having a rough day, so I reacted somewhat poorly to people's reactions to my votes. But even then, I still stand by my actions. Even a misexe, at least this early in the game, is valuable for gathering information. As for my own vote, I am incredibly conflicted. I've added the VC down below (which will be updated with my vote, whatever I decide that is), and looking at this, none of my options are great. Even if I suspected anyone on this list (which I don't really), voting on any of the other trains creates a tie. And I know that rollover is still a little while away, but voting to make a tie and therefore self-preserve feels wrong. But voting on a player I do suspect does nothing really, unless other people want to follow me onto another train. Okay, I've thought about this (there is a significant amount of real life time between this paragraph and the last), and I think I'm going to vote for one of my current suspects. There is plenty of time left in this turn, and I can always my vote to a better position later if I need to. My main suspects so far are Dingo, Vulture, Tuatara, Scorpion, and recently Falcon, though that is probably the weakest. I'm willing to give Dingo the benefit of the doubt for now, since they're busy right now. I'm probably not going to vote for Falcon because others have apparently decided they don't like that exe and I'm least confident of my suspicion on them. I'm going to avoid voting on Scorpion as well, because their post this turn is giving me more villager-y vibes, even if I still have that gut read of them. Of Tuatara and Vulture, I think I'm going to have to go for Vulture. Tuatara hasn't been on nearly as much, and I'm beginning to wonder if my gut read of them was simply because of early D1 weirdness. As for Vulture, I still am not a big fan of how they reacted to the Weasel train, the fact that they suspect Rhino, one of my main trusts, and the fact that they so casually dismiss all of their trusts from their stormform suspect list. It all just feels strange to me. Here's the VC: Heron (2): Dragonfly, Vulture Beagle (1): Lion Penguin (1): Flamingo Rhino (1): Falcon Vulture (1): Heron Hopefully that is accurate.]- 819 replies

[OOC: Last minute votes from people that “don’t know the vote count” are possible. No reads given, very neutral. And they've yet to follow up on it. Yet I think I'll keep my vote on Penguin. I would be down to vote for Tuatara, if that’s the only one of my suspects you’d want to vote for. I’m just…really confused why you wouldn’t want to. I was going to reply to someone else about something but even reading back through the last few posts didn’t help job my memory. Oh it was about elims not wanting ties. Yes, elims want everyone dead. But in the event of one of their own being voted on, they would be much more likely to try and ensure a tie than to just let the elim die. I am very tired and don’t know if I’m going to be able to stick around, but since everyone is very upset with me over voting for Albatross instead of someone I really suspect (which would be a wasted vote unless there’s a sudden switch but I digress), I’m going to vote for Tuatara]- 819 replies

[OOC: First of all, I’m simply voting for you because I want to make sure we have an exe this turn. Dragonfly’s post just made me realize there was a very real possibility that there might not be one, if things went wrong. And yes, I was online earlier the 12 hours or so before. But I wasn’t available in any capacity to make any posts until I made one. I was just skimming the thread in short breaks before returning to what I was doing. Hmmm I don’t know how to make this any more clear, but I don’t suspect you* and I had other motivations for voting for you, which I’ve already stated. I’m not pleased with the fact that you went after my choice of wording for how I phrased the fact that I was securing your exe (for now). That is a remnant of me attempting to obfuscate my true identity by phrasing things differently. For what it’s worth, the best thing you could do to secure your survival is vote with me for one of my suspects, and convince others to do so. Like I’ve said before, my suspects are Scorpion, Tuatara, Dingo, and Vulture. Dingo currently has a vote, and would be more than willing to switch to them as their flightiness and weird voting patterns is leaving a bad taste in my mouth. *the fact I don’t currently suspect you doesn’t mean much, because 1) my suspicions can and have been wrong in previous games and likely are this game, and 2) aggressive defensiveness in response to an exe forming oneself always sets my gut off, though I know this is something that can happen in frustrated village players. Just less often in my experience.]- 819 replies

Chashen looked around at her fellow rebels. “We can’t simply lie here and do nothing. We must root out those amongst us who are secretly of Odium. I say we see what [Albatross] has to say for themselves, since no one is willing to follow my lead on [Vulture]. Being indecisive simply gives the spies a chance to confuse us and keep us from interrogating anyone. We must act decisively.” [OOC: To make my point a little clearer, Albatross is not at all my first choice for an exe. But considering that I will probably not be on for rollover (unless I stay up later than I should), and that it is very close to a tie right now and no one seems to be voting, I would rather secure a guaranteed exe than leave my vote where it is and risk a tie. I wouldn’t at all be opposed to switching back to Vulture, or Scorpion, or Tuatara, or Dingo if other players form a train on them before the turn is over and if I can be on for it. But for now, I am securing Albatross’s death.]- 819 replies

[OOC: Or, as autocorrect so kindly suggested, OOF, which is much more fitting for the day I’ve been having. Has anyone else noticed that we are currently in a 6-way tie? All with just one vote on them, too. I was even planning on voting Vulture as I was reading through the thread. I’m not a fan of how aggressively they went after Lion for…really really minor things. 99% of which I find completely NAI at best, and some of that I even find village-leaning. In addition, it very much appears as if they are looking for reasons to vote for Lion rather than reading through things and naturally gaining a suspicion of Lion. I’m also not a fan of how hard they went at Lion for the disguising their identity thing, which is very much the point of anonymous games. Vulture just feels so unnecessarily aggressive and like they’re trying to frame a player. At the same time, as much as I want to vote for Vulture…can I really in good conscience create a 7-way tie? I didn’t realize until far too recently that ties do not kill anyone, so I don’t feel comfortable leaving things at a tie, when I perhaps would if ties killed randomly or all tied players. Of the players currently being voted on, I am mostly indifferent on Albatross and Mouse. I currently trust Lion and Rhino. I still distrust Scorpion because of their strange reaction to swing the Weasel train take off. I can understand their philosophy on poke votes, but I don’t think that excuses their reaction to the Weasel train. I also suspect Dingo, for just being very flitty and overly defensive, and also going after Rhino for just pointing out some information. And their tone in their posts feels strange to me. I think I’m going to vote for Scorpion because my suspicions of them feel more substantial and less based on gut. In addition, here is the VC: Scorpion (2): Lion, Heron Lion (1): Vulture Dingo (1): Flamingo Mouse (1): Albatross Albatross (1): Rhino Once again on mobile, sorry for the inconvenience.] EDIT: Didn’t see Dingo’s post pop up for some reason, editing the VC to reflect their vote removal.- 819 replies

[OOC: I am very pleased that my true identity is a complete and total mystery to you, and hopefully many others in this game. As for the OOC thing, as much fun as I’ve been having doing most of my posts in RP form, I still believe that I should interact with the game in a way that is easier for other players to read. I’d rather players have negative reads of me than null reads because all my posts are in RP format and therefore harder to get a read on. It’s always better to get more interactions going on in thread than less. Anyway, my current suspicion short list is Tuatara, Scorpion, Vulture, and maybe Dingo. Also, I’m of the opinion that Lion is so obviously trying to be Kas, that it can’t be Kas. Chashen looked around at her fellow rebels. They were huddled in a cave, though some of them were donning cloaks and going out into the storm to take new forms. Chashen looked at those who were still in the cave with her. "If did end up grabbing a gem," she said, watching another singer go out into the highstorm, "I think you should be discreet about taking on new forms. Letting any spies amongst us know what we have can give them plenty of information to use against us. And even if you just say that you didn't grab a gemstone, that lets the spies know that they can avoid you and go after other people instead who might actually be threats to them." Chashen paused. "I don't know how I feel about those who have been..." she looked at Madiv, who seemed to be repeatedly checking if they had something, "obvious about whether or not they possess a gem right now." [OOC: I am going to attempt to make at least one non-RP post per turn (or at least per cycle), so go ahead and count this one as my one for this turn. I still think Tuatara is a good vote for today. Like I said before, I don’t like how it seemed they were trying to paint certain roles as inherently suspicious or inherently better for one side or the other. I am especially apprehensive about the tone that they used in their post. It comes across as very abrasive and demanding, though this might not be as AI as I think it is, depending on what each player thinks. I think I agree with Vulture that Scorpion’s voting reason and the fact that they so quickly removed it just seems very strange. It doesn’t feel like they’re trying to vote an elim or even put pressure behind their votes in the first place. It feels like an attempt at a stab vote on a teammate that Scorpion then panicked about once the train gained some traction. I will try to take a look at the player they voted on later, especially because the name of that player is escaping me right now. Keeping track of everything with anonymous accounts is challenging at best. In terms of trusts, Vulture and Rhino are so far the only players that have stood out as feeling particularly villagery to me. Beagle is mostly null, with a very slight village lean. I liked how they brought up an important aspect of the mavset-im for us to keep in mind. I will say, even with my trust on Rhino, I am slightly worried about how much they seem to be dominating the thread. Just a little paranoia doesn’t hurt. Not many other thoughts on other players yet. So go ahead and count them as true null reads in my book. Though, I will say I feel like Opal Lion is probably TJ. ]- 819 replies
