Mid-Range Game 30/Anonymous Game 2: - Scadrian Black Ops
Amethyst Scorpion replied to Seonid's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Am I the only one getting repeatedly thrown off by all the animal names >> I'm at a point where I'm often not even completely certain who I am. XD ^ Swan recalls the intent of having the discussion about D1 lynches stop before it even starts with a minority of the thread as they will always happen regardless. Swan does not like the bringing back of the D1 lynch discussion. Swan votes for Indigo Weasel. Swan thinks that you are twisting the words of the Swan, which should definitely be a crime. Coral Swan, This defensive vote seems a little too defensive and opportunistic. Idk. TWTBAW is correct. But yeah, that's my tentative opinion on Albatross as well. I'm like 70% sure we're going to lynch them at some point and they'll flip village. kind of how it goes with Straw lynches Quick note that the votes piling up on Ivory are slightly sus I personally think that it shouldn't matter whether the lynchee is active or not. If they're sus, they're sus. We often leave the actives alive and they end up being elims. Deep wolves are a thing after all. I'm too tired right now to think, and like, make this post more substantial and fill it with words...Sorry.:P wow huge Weasel post. I agree with most of that. -

I'm pretty sure they said that asking for whether we should have D1 lynches is futile, bc they're gonna happen regardless. -

We're most likely going to end up lynching a villager. But a lot of the time, deciding on a C2 lynch is just as difficult when the C1 lynch is avoided, despite what info we would gain from the kill(s), especially in QFs and MRs. So we should probably just get on with it and lynch somebody. I agree with Coral that C1 lynches aren't always NAI. I'm pretty sure there was this one game where an elim was going to get lynched on like D1 and there was some rather obvious defending going on. It's...another thing that few people actually noticed that and the elims got away with it. What about your own thoughts on the matter, Vulture?:P -

I suppose you're right, but we don't know enough about the game to decide if anonymity matters with regards to the mechanics. Eh /shrug -

Swap accounts with a certain number of players, I reckon? All of this is heavy speculation though. We don't even know for sure whether a kandra exists. -

Hm. I was thinking more along the lines of the potential kandra being part of a standard elim team, and its kill acting as the standard elim kill. However you're right that the kandra having unlimited swapping power would make it somewhat OP. A limit on the number of swaps makes sense. And if this kandra isn't part of an elim team but is on its own with a separate win con, that's slightly worrying, because then we may have more than one of us kiled per cycle... This is assuming -wow ok suddenly ninjad by two peeps- that there is an elim team out there. -

Yeah, it seems that the Kandra explanation would make the most sense. What we know about the game is basically this: there's killing going on, there's account-swapping involved, and we have a lynch. It can be speculated that Kandra kill a player and then impersonate them using their account. That would mean that the Kandra first swaps accounts with their target, and then kills them, because that's how Kandras work...? Not quite in that order though. They need to kill the person before they can impersonate them. But I suppose that doesn't matter all so much. If my guess is accurate, we'll have to go back each cycle and analyse the posts of the player that gets killed, for they may be the killer kandra that we're afte, impersonating somebody else each cycle. -
I usually accuse just about everyone. Doesn't always mean I want to lynch them. Sometimes I just want to read their reaction.

@Mint Heron, I’m fully aware that I’m just being probably unreasonably paranoid at this point. I certainly wouldn’t support lynching you, not yet at least, not until we get the ones we know, and we know we can’t risk a mislynch. Oh, and @Fuchsia Ostrich, I’m somewhat flattered, but no, I’m not Len.

Why would the game have ended? We have to get rid of the Elims, not just outnumber them (which we have from the beginning). Are you sure you’re not actually a Sympathizer? I could see Albatross trying to save you by fingering you as Elim. Edit: I got mixed up, it’s Kangaroo and Mouse we’re sure of. Crocodile might be, but we don’t know if there is a third.

I was getting slightly nervous there. Glad we got it right with Albatross. Am I thinking correctly that we just need both lynch Mouse and Crocodile and this is probably over? Or is there possibly one more?

Well, it ain’t me. Not sure about that analysis, though Croc isn’t a bad thought. I don’t know about Albatross either at this point. Good chance, but certainly not guaranteed. It could also be you, Ostrich. I think at this point I don’t fully trust anyone, but of course for now going after the sure bets seems the way to go.

You know, that reasoning on Kangaroo is surprisingly compelling. They might be lying about being an Elsecaller, but I doubt they expected the lynch to shift to Albatross specifically, and I agree that there’s at least a decent chance. I do want to try to actually review that, though, in case we’re being led astray intentionally or accidentally. I don’t know if I’ll get the chance.

Well, guess we get to wait and see how things sit after tonight. It's not great odds, but I'm feeling a little more optimistic than I was last night. Here's hoping the Elims revealed themselves way too early!

Bah. Well done, Elims. I get the impression this is the last night of the game. If not, we’ll know who to try and lynch, but I don’t expect it. I doubt anyone identified me, but I’m curious as well.

Huh, so, I have some time and I feel like actually responding, so here goes. 1. Yeah, I'm rather relieved none of the lynches have stuck, though remember that I was tied for the lynch last time around, so it's not like I'm just completely being ignored either. I think the problem is that no one has any more than a gut read on me, or dislike of my play style. 2. As Dragonfly said, I'm involved in the game, I'm just not sitting here analyzing play styles and posts heavily, and I don't really care to be told I'm playing badly for it (you can like or dislike my results, but let me play the game the way I think is fun). (Thanks, Dragonfly, though as noted, I still worry about you. I'd rather go for someone else now who I think we can get a lynch on, though, since so many people act like they trust you.) 3. I think it's clear why I went for Axolotl instead of Dragonfly… 4. Everyone's votes have been having a strange habit of falling on villagers. It's almost like, I don't know, there are more villagers than Elims? Yeah, that's a ridiculous argument and you know it. 5. I am an aggressive player, at least some of the time. Were I an Elim, I wouldn't hesitate to lynch a teammate to gain trust, though only if it truly made sense. When I've been an Elim, I usually post in the thread before I even look at the Elim doc so my posts don't repeat any points made there, and I seem just like any other villager. That said, I obviously don't really have that much trust built up either, despite that, so either it was a failed move or it was genuine, right? It was genuine, and the fact I keep bringing it up should make that clear.

As I mentioned during the night, for pushing so openly to protect Ivory, and honestly because it's more likely I can get a lynch going on them than others I'm wondering about right now, I'm going to vote for Violet Axolotl. @Violet Axolotl, you didn't respond during the night cycle, can you explain yourself now please?

@Ivory Dragonfly, the amusement of that situation is certainly not lost on me. That said, I don’t necessarily trust you more for it, since you could be just trying to keep a villager who has consistent suspicion on them alive for longer to distract our main conversation. I haven’t quite gotten that vibe, so I do think you’re playing masterfully if that is your goal and you are actually an Elim. I’m not entirely sure who to suspect right now.
