  1. I’ve got one! Chapter 129, page 1189. “Adolin backed up, his heels touching the locked door.” He’s only got one heel at this point in time. No foot made from shard plate, just the peg.
  2. The Kandra's first contract? You know the part that says they have to kill themselves...
  3. Ah! Can't believe I missed that.
  4. Chapter 11, page 141 (according to my kindle), Shallan comments that she has no infused spheres so they are useless unless she finds civilization. Then she goes to Shadesmar and has to jump out after the unsuccessful argument with the stick because her Stormlight runs out. Where did this Stormlight come from? It can't be too old or she would have breathed it all out.
  5. It looks like Zahel might have been playing a miniature game of Tarachin in the beginning of chapter 44? He was throwing little colored rocks into a circle in the sand.
  6. Oh, name_here, this line makes me laugh EVERY time.
  7. Maybe balderdash just happened to work for one whole word, but the other two words must be split and combined before rearranging. Figgldygrak has suspiciously few vowels whereas nonsense has several...
  8. I had to switch away from mobile view to desktop view to see it.
  9. Being a devout kindle reader, I held off for a while. I finally read them this past year and absolutely loved them. They are lighthearted but still have a very well defined magic system. I'd look on eBay or amazon to find them or even your local library. There are some things he does with the text that are going to be tough to replicate in an eBook. Highly recommend...
  10. I don't like to necropost like this, but which episode is Silus taking about? Season six doesn't have an episode 32. Thanks!
  11. Hmmm, I like the idea that it's in reference to Joel. I guess we'll have to wait for the next book(s) to find out for sure.
  12. So I just reread the book and I started thinking about how the title was originally "The Scribbler", and we know to whom that is referring. But Brandon decided to change the title to "The Rithmatist". So who is the titular character? Still the bad guy?
  13. So does the Ryshadium mentioned on page 240 fall into the same category? Just a nice giggle for those of us who have read The Way of Kings?
  14. Thanks Windrunner!
  15. Question that I wasn't sure where to ask... how do reputation points work? Is there a chart that shows the levels and what you have to do to attain each one? I'm not even sure how to earn the points at all. Thanks!
  16. Thanks for teasing us, Peter! Those two descriptions don't match the ones in Ishikk's (the Purelaker) interlude of the three strangers. I don't remember anyone with a face scar like that either... I wonder if we haven't met them yet? I'll do some searching... Nevermind, I take that back. One of the three strangers is described as Alethi-like and the other two are said to have skin like the Makabaki. An Azish is a subset of Makabaki (see page 212 description of Sigzil). Still, Ishikk doesn't mention the pale patch. After some more searching, see this post: http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/2051-world-hopping-characters/ It confirms that two of the three strangers are Galladon (one of the "Makabakis") and Demoux (the Alethi-looking one). The reason I cannot find any reference to the third stranger is because he is form a yet unpublished book, as per CrazyRioter's post in the link. I know that was about a year ago, but nothing in-cosmere has been published since then besides The Emperor's Soul, so I think it's still true.
  17. Sorry about all the caps...Swype was malfunctioning
  18. I'm Not Sure About All The Rules, But This Sounds Like An Excellent Project For KickStarter. You Could Have The Monetary Backing Promised Before Production And Could Probably Reach A Larger Audience And Offer More Professional Looking Bookmarks.
  19. I don't think anyone has mentioned these: Page 162 (according to the "real page numbers" on my Kindle) or Location 3293 - "Gaz's eyes opened wide with shock and pain" and yet on Page 100/Location 1951 - "He[Gaz] was missing one eye" The next error occurs twice, Page 150/Location 3046 and Page 520/Location 10992 = "buff et" instead of "buffet", meaning something that strikes with telling force. I submitted them as errors on my Kindle, but I'm not sure if that gets back to you. Found some more: Page 490/Location 10376 "buff er"->buffer Page 530/Location 11229 "gruff er"->gruffer (I am starting to think you should check all words with a double 'f' in them) Page 833/Location 17656 and Page 897/Location 19024 "stiff ness"->stiffness Page 711/Location 15019 in Geranid's Interlude: "It involved some kind of curry powder and a rare Shin fruit that he'd caramelized." I think "fruit"->vegetable, see pages 711-712 "It was men's food", (meaning not sweet) "It really was fascinating the way that Shin vegetable caramelized." and "Yes, but you'd hate it. No fruit." Page 968/Location 20549, Shallan says "I took it [Jasnah's Soulcaster] on the night when you killed those three thugs." See page 533/Location 11281, there were four thugs, not three. Jasnah turned the first one into fire, the second into quartz, and the last two into smoke.
  20. Mild spoilers below... First, AoL- On my Kindle it says it's page 301 (Chapter 19), location 5445. The sentence is: "As Wax tried to roll over, Miles grabbed him by the front of his shirt and hauled him up, then laid into him with a fist to the face." On my audio book by Michael Kramer, the bold and italized "Miles" is read "Max". Was this just the audio reader's error or does the first edition of the book really say Max! Second, HoA- On my Kindle it's right near the beginning of Chapter 50 (sorry this ebook didn't come with page numbers), location 7351. The sentence is: "He'd been one of Elend's friends in Luthadel, before the Collapse." On my audio book, the name is read as "Elden"! Again, reader error or first edition error? Thanks!
  21. If you have not read Elantris and Way of Kings - spoilers ahead! This is from tWoK Interludes, Ishikk's point of view (around page 164). Ishikk meets with three men, that he calls Grump, Blunt, and Thinker. Grump and Blunt are dark-skinned, with Grump being bald and having a large build. Thinker is described as having light skin and a big scar across his scalp. The men have their own false names which are: Grump/Tamoo, Blunt/Vao, and Thinker/? Tamoo sounds like a Dula's name, and he also looks like one too. He also speaks like Galladon in Elantris, who is always asking Raoden if he is "kayana". Also, Vao has two consecutive vowels, like all of the Aons. They are looking for Hoid, whom they call the Roamer. This was the first time I even realized the books were connected! Does anyone have any insight to add to this? Why are they looking for Hoid? Was there a Hoid in Elantris? Any ideas on the identities of the three men, or just a random Dula and person from Elantris/Kae?
