    I tend to prefer because they're cleaner and don't look like they come from the nineties and there is no attempt at canon which kind of makes the errors easier to handle haha though most of brandons USA covers look fine really I just hate words of radiance cover that dust jacket come straight off, awful just awful.

    I'm probably not the best person to explain this... but it is essentially where someone has a certain idea about a piece of fiction which has little to no explicit textual evidence but is adopted by the said person as their personal canon. EDIT: spelling.

    So yeah was really interested in seeing what stories people have read and what not. If I've missed any or spelt names wrong and the like please tell me haha. Maybe in the thread talk about what book you want to read next and the like. Also maybe say what one you read most recently. For me it probably would be Sixth of the Dusk. Also what were favourite and least favourite stories?

    I'd just like to say queer people are a lot bigger minority than you're making out. In fact I honestly believe that the lack of queer identifying people is due to the prevalence of heteronormativity. Brandon's books are reasonably diverse, and he's done a lot of good with female representation and stuff but when it comes to queer representation they do suffer. However he has said he is working on it and wants to do it right so that gives some hope.

    Haha this is awesome thanks so much for the responses! Yeah I'm pretty sure at this stage I'm going to be concentrating on deities and religion in Sanderson's Cosmere. I'll explore that some more (which means a lot of rereading) and it should pare down to something more manageable. But I'm fascinated by Honor at the moment.

    Yes someone else here knows this feel. New Zealand IS still in the 90's. We were without internet for a month or so and it drove me mad...Freaking Tele- I mean Spark... You know you're a Sanderfan when you decide to spend all of next year studying his books for uni =)

    Have you heard of As Cities Burn? Their third album Hell or Highwater has similarities in style to Dear and the Headlights... still quite different though... I can't think of any group off the top of the head that is exactly alike...
