  1. I failed... so hard... All I had to do was protect Crimsn... And I failed. Oops. That's what I get for assuming that nothing else was going to happen...
  2. What is the path of the alleystorm? Also, what sort of intensity is it? Another question: If my character approached the alleycity, how would they enter?
  3. Rekaerb gave up with a sigh. He turned to look at the door, which still hadn't opened. He frowned. Rekaerb tried the door. It was unlocked. Muttering something insulting under his breath, he strode into the room. Inside was an empty receptionist desk. There was a little bowl of mints on the counter. Rekaerb took one. Then another. Then, furtively checking around, dumped the whole bowl into one of his pockets. That done, he looked around for a sign for what he was supposed to do here. "I didn't ask!" "I didn't do that either!" "But... but... Gah!" Rekaerb glared around the room. His eye fell on a sign on the wall. Liebrarians was written prominently at the top. Under it was a list of names. "Huh", he said. He picked up a pen from behind the desk and signed his name at the bottom. He stood back to admire his handiwork. "Why should I do what you want me to do?" Rekaerb sighed and left the room. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Rekaerb strode across the plain. It was boring. "Oy!" he called. "What exactly are you having me do here?" "...Does this mean I get to fill out the next part of my character sheet?" Rekaerb smiled. "At last..." He stood up. "So what is it?" "What's that?" "...What?" "Oh!" Rekaerb looked at the sky thoughtfully. "So, what do I have?" "I do?" Rekaerb searched his limited memories and realized that he did in fact know. He closed his eyes and focused as prepared to use his power. "What? Oh, right." He cleared his throat. "Investiture: Epic ability that lets him create replicas of himself, along with any items he carries." He paused. "Is that good?" Rekaerb grinned. "I'll deal with that later." Then he closed his eyes and split into two. ------------------------------------------------------------------ A few minutes later, the various versions of Rekaerb reunited into one. He grinned. "That's the most fun I've had since... well... ever, actually." "Thirty-seven? Already? Man, how time flies." Rekaerb sighed. "So, is this all I came here for?" "What else, then?" "Wait, what?" Suddenly, something exploded out of the ground. Dirt flew outwards in a rush, knocking Rekaerb to the ground. When the dust settled, he slowly stood up, shaking his head to clear it. A building stood in the middle of the field. The door stood open, strangely. Rekaerb walked up to the doorway and looked in. Inside was a chest. A pretty ordinary-looking chest. It was also empty. Rekaerb frowned. "Is there supposed to be something in there?" "Where is it, then?" Rekaerb walked over and leaned down to look into the chest. "I still don't see anything. Are you sure..." He trailed off, noticing something small, white and paperlike. He reached down and picked it up. As he pulled it from the chest, he felt something invisible slide off of it, leaving just the sheet. On it were words, words that - thankfully - he seemed to know already. As he read, a smile began to stretch across his face. "This is the next thing, isn't it? Wait, don't tell me. I can do this myself." He turned his face towards the sky. "Items: Cloak of Hiding. Makes him invisible. Causes objects thrown at him to pass through him, and causes him to pass through large objects he gets thrown at." Then he smiled and pulled the cloak from the chest.
  4. Young Bard. I remember feeling suspicious earlier, and I think it's the best option.
  5. Is there an exchange for other worlds' money?
  6. So no bills? Also, can you soulcast crysts?
  7. Does the city flood during rains? Speaking of which, what path does the alleystorm take? On a completely different note, are crysts the official monetary system? If so, what denominations do they come in?
  8. I have a few questions about general stuff. Is this like the Shattered plains or Yeddaw? Also, is there any kind of wall? In addition, is there any leftover radiation from the bomb? I'm also confused by the maps in The Alleyverse Explained thread. Do these need to be updated?
  9. Rekaerb walked up to the doorway of the guild and rapped on it. While he waited for someone to open the door, he started thinking about his character sheet. Then something struck him. "Hey!" he called out. "What am I supposed to put in a character sheet?" "I could infer that. What else?" "...You know what my name is!" *put-upon sigh* "Fine. My name is Rekaerb. Happy now?" A moment passed. Rekaerb tapped his foot impatiently. "Well? What's next?" "What?" "You mean too lazy!"
  10. What's the current state of the alleycity?
  11. Nogard ran between waking and sleeping. He saw the landscape as if it were a dream. And, in a sense, it was. While the Stormlight inside of him sustained him far past what a normal man could do, he still needed to sleep. But when staying still brought unspeakable agony, you learned to find sleep in other ways. As he ran, he dreamed that people ran with him. Their faces shifted and changed, calling out to him.. People he'd met over the years. People he had learned from or befriended. Or both, sometimes. It hardly mattered. He would likely never see any of them again anyways. Unless... With a start, he realized he was nearly at his destination. He slowed- not stopping, of course- and slowly awakened from his reverie. He stood- well, walked- in front of an unassuming city. Unassuming, that is, to the passing observer. But to him, it held something different. Hope.
  12. Maybe make "alleygates", that allow back-and-forth transport between those specific worlds and the alleyverse. This could also accommodate the eventual addition of the Skyward universe.
  13. I think a Worldspike perpendcularity is a very good idea. I think there should be another one, however, for public transfer. Is Voidus powerful enough to have a Shardpool?
  14. I don't know anything personally about the accusations flying around, but I have no reason to disbelieve them. Elandera.
  15. I think there ought to be, but of what, I'm not sure. From what I understand, cosmere visitors come through the cognitive realm, so there has to be a transfer point somewhere. As a side note, the idea of having the spike decay slowly could lead to some interesting storylines...
  16. Rekaerb popped into existence. He looked up. His expression darkened. He started yelling into the sky. "What kind of lame backstory is that? I just pop into existence? Surely you can do better than that!" "Why?" *dramatic sigh* "Can I at least have a character sheet?" "What do you mean, not canonical? I can be canonical if I want to be!" "Fine. I'll join this guild here. That will prove I'm canonical." "Of course!" "Don't you already know?" ... "I'm not going to answer that." "Aren't you literally dictating my every action?"
  17. Hello everyone! I'm officially joining the alleyverse. I've started in the Well of Decension thread. I think some sort of energy well tied to the Worldspike that lets out a pulse could be how sand is recharged here. If we are keeping the Alleystorm it should probably be significantly reduced in intensity. A starting point should also probably be determined, although it might spread out from that central point to everywhere in the alleyverse. Edit: Is the whole alleyverse closer to the cognitive? Because it seems elsecallers travel between both realms fairly easily.
  18. As far as I can tell, the only concerns against me were that I wasn't showing up, @Fifth Scholar. Probably no vote this turn, sorry... no time.
  19. Ygona paced the streets, consumed by pain. It beat at him like an ocean, trying to wash him away. But he could not- must not wash away. ----------------------- Overall, I don't see anything that really pops out, but I still need to reread in more detail. I disagree with the faction-sharing, as it seems it would give too much info to the elims. I'll get back on later for a vote, hopefully.
  20. I've started venturing in the Alleyverse, and have read the four threads that make up the main plot. What other things should I (or any newcomer) read to be up-to date in what's going on in the Alleyverse?
  21. I... I don't know what to say. All my arguments still stand. I can't really get super involved in this game, for IRL reasons. I'm still trying to figure everything out. However, I don't actually think my death would, as Bort put it, "hand the elims the game". Phattemer, I suppose. I don't really think my death would matter. But he is suspicious.
  22. Hmm, who to vote for... eh, flip a coin. Count Olaf it is! Steeldancer, why do you think I am suspicious? I've been busy and haven't been able to get on much or devote a whole lot of time to this.
