  1. Nogard strode towards Dusk, eating a Granny Smith. The nice people at the bakery had suggested he come here. Apparently there was going to be a war. He smiled suddenly as he felt the Alleystorm recharge his Soulcaster vest. That's going to be useful...
  2. Hello everyone! Again, sorry for not posting or voting. I've been unable to get much analysis in so far. Rereading the thread, I find myself getting an elim read on Devotary, although not enough for a vote (yet).
  3. Rekaerb shot a look upwards, then continued. "The barrier around the Worldspike exists in the Physical and Cognitive realms, but does it exist in the Spiritual? I don't think it can."
  4. Wow, 24 hour cycles? This game is going by quickly. Sorry, I've been busy this weekend.
  5. Hey, checking in. Probably won't be able to get on again this cycle.
  6. That fits. That's sort of what I expected, good to have it confirmed. a 17th shard? If Voidus is a shard, how is he physically trapped?
  7. One of the liebrarian assistants raised his hand. "Can I say something?" he asked.
  8. Despite the fact that the alleystorm seems to be an accepted part of the alleyverse, I can't seem find much information on it. I'll start by listing what I know: The alleystorm was summoned during the seven day war by a singer in conjunction with an alleyspren. The storm (or, potentially, storms) follows a path that eventually reaches everywhere on the alleyplanet. The storm provides stormlight and recharges sand (and potentially other sources of investiture), but does not have the intensity of a highstorm (or even an everstorm) Now, some thoughts. First off, the highstorm is of Honor. The everstorm is of Odium. Because both of these are on Roshar, neither can be powering the alleystorm. So what is? Presumably, it relates to the alleyspren, but there doesn't seem to be much information on them either. Given that the two other storms we've seen are hosted by shards, it would make sense for this one to be hosted by a Shard as well. However, it doesn't seem like there are any people in the alleyverse who would be candidates for Shardhood. It may be that the alleystorm is controlled by the alleyspren, and whatever powers it is mostly left alone. Secondly, highstorms are incredible destructive forces. Everstorms are also destructive, if a bit less so. However, the alleyplanet doesn't really show any signs of becoming like Roshar in flora or fauna, so I will assume that the alleystorm is significantly less destructive. (At least, in the populated areas. Maybe there's a place where the alleystorms are as strong as highstorms on Roshar.) For similar reasons, I will also assume that they don't drop crem. This would mean that they are more like a thunderstorm here on Earth (not even a strong one, if they come every week). Lastly, the alleystorm recharges stormlight. As stated above, the alleystorms could not be of Honor, as Honor is on Roshar. This means that whatever powers the alleystorms could potentially power any magic system that relied on gathered investiture (such as sand mastery). This seems like an interesting outgrowth of the weirdness of the alleyverse, and potentially has many applications. If anybody knows anything about the alleystorm that conflicts or confirms what I have here, please let me know! If you have any ideas, please post them. The alleystorm is a part of the alleyverse that really needs more defining.
  9. Ok then. I'm still a little confused about what you mean by "creating something that is added to the alleyverse". If I come up with an idea and post about it, would my characters get alleymatic control?
  10. There are cosmere-specific ways. I know hemalurgy is sort of an alleyverse thing, but imagine there are other ways to accomplish the same thing, with significant effort. I wasn't expecting Connection to have a huge impact on the system because you would need an insane amount of it to get the kind of knowledge and control you would need. (sorry if this comes off as hostility)
  11. If someone Connected enough with an object or idea, would that give them Alleymatic control?
  12. Nogard frowned. No apple cookies? He must remedy this situation. "I'll come with you, then. I still don't know where everything is, so you'll have to show me." He slowed. "In the meantime, do you need help with the beavers?"
  13. Nogard took the cookie and bit into it. It was good, but not quite perfect. "Do you have apple flavored cookies?" he asked, handing the newcomer one of the apple chips.
  14. Signing up as Eviterces.
  15. Nogard watched the chaos erupt around him. "Huh," he said. He pulled a few apple chips out of his pocket and started chewing on them as he walked towards the exit.
  16. Nogard walked through the crowd. People parted around him, as they always did. There was just something about him that told you to get out of his way. That suited Nogard just fine. He couldn't afford to stop-even for a moment. He shuddered to think what that would drive him to do. He doubted people would respond well Although given the attitude to the duel that was taking place mere feet away, who knew? They might even cheer him on.
  17. Nogard slowed as he heard the musicians announcement. Perturbed, he followed a few people out the room to see what was going on.
  18. Nogard walked over to the snack table. To his dismay, there weren't any apples. Oh well, he thought. He scooped up a couple of the more recognizable ones and swallowed them whole. He stuck a few in one of his pockets for later. As Nogard walked away from the snack table he noticed a young man chugging root beer. Intrigued, Nogard turned his walk towards the stranger. @I Am Witless
  19. Ok then. Whatever alleyspren do, it has something to do with how the alleystorm works, which I'm not entirely clear on.
  20. Nogard glared at the server as he walked away. No apple juice! How could they not have apple juice!? He sighed and turned towards his Rosharan fruity wine, which was all they had. He sighed. Oh well. He shot a brief burst of Stormlight into the glass, Soulcasting it into apple juice. He sipped it as he wandered over to the host to express his disappointment that they would leave out such an essential beverage.
  21. Maybe that's how alleymatics works.
  22. Nogard strode into the hall, Soulcasting the oil under his foot into air as he walked. People sure seemed to be upset about something, given the general mayhem. He took an apple out of his pocket and chewed on it thoughtfully.
  23. Is there a place where I can exchange other world's money for chrysts?
