  1. Edahs felt the invisible cage go up around him and hissed. Noting with alarm the woman with the vial- more silver? - he squeezed and deformed his figure to escape. Unfortunately, his hardened armor slowed him down, enough for the woman's well-aimed splash to melt the armor on his leg. He screamed, darkness clouding his vision as the pain began to subdue his intelligent side. He backed up, still hissing. This wasn't working. He was losing too much shadow-acid to their attacks (and his own, as well, when it came down to it.) Without the precious fluid, he wasn't quick or agile enough to dodge their attacks. He needed to feed. A pity that the watchers had fled; they would have provided more than enough. But wait- was that one he saw, around the corner? Clearly not all had been smart enough to abandon the scene entirely. In a flash, he fled away from the group and towards the watcher. Time to let the beast go. He'd been two creatures, once; each with different powers and objectives. Those had mostly blended when they had merged, but the habits of their association remained. And so, when he fed, he let out the darker side of himself, the side that had come from a shadowy creature that relished in causing pain. The man gasped as Edahs charged him, standing up to flee, but he wasn't quick enough. Darkness flashed around the edges of Edahs's vision as he tackled the man to the ground, his form wavering as his control over his figure slipped. It was from that creature that the power to feast upon souls had come. It had known just to apply the right pressures to a mind to crack the spirit and let itself feast upon the energy within. A dark art, for a dark being; yet one of particular use to him. The man's screams of terror turned into screams of pain as Edahs began to attack. His form melted slightly into the man, touching something deeper than the mere Physical. Other sources could provided energy, but none were as sweet as the blood from a broken soul. And so, when he needed to feed, he unchained his darker aspect, setting it free to do what it did best. The man broke, and Edahs rushed in, ravenous. Pale light streamed into his dark figure as he drank of the bounty that the man offered. With not a little regret, he forced himself to stop before draining the poor fellow entirely. He might let his dark side run free sometimes, but he wasn't going to kill someone. (Not unless they deserved it, at least). Sated, he stood up and turned back towards his opponents. His hardened armor melted back into the smooth glossy substance it had been originally, its shadow-acid replenished. With one quick move, he launched himself at the glowing man. Best to get this over with quickly. @I think I am here. @Sorana @Turtle373
  2. A groan escaped from Draug as he struggled to hold up his bubble of protection. The whispers had reached a crescendo in his ears, their discordant voices mixing together in a perverse harmony. A symphony of pain and grief he had heard many, many times. A girl with a ponytail, kneeling before a man with red and black skin. A boy in a red shirt, curled up and with a tearstained face. A man with blank eyes and a sword that did not glow. The recollections began to come; people he'd traveled with, befriended- and eventually, failed to protect. Travel in groups, that was the advice. Having a friend helped you fight off any Voidbringers you might come across, in addition to keeping you safe from Sha-thoexis. Supposedly, it worked. And yet, time and time again, he failed. Time and time again, his companions fell to the alluring promise Sha-thoexis offered. But he'd gotten back up, time and time again. He'd kept on protecting, time and time again. And now he was here, in a place unique among the cities of the West. A place where Radiants could gather in large groups without fear of Voidbringer assaults. A place where the whispers in the mind were silent. A place where, perhaps, he could succeed where he had failed before. He faced this fear every night, when Sha-thoexis came. She knew how it grated on his soul. And so she filled his mind with images of his failures, telling him that he was worthless, that he could never succeed, that resistance was hopeless. But she had not succeeded then. And she would not succeed now. Through gritted teeth he forced out the words. "I... will... not... fall!" The mist slowly rolled back, leaving a circle of clear space around him and the others. He relaxed as the voices began to fade. A smile crept onto his face. But then- faintly- he felt a twang, like the sound a tightened string makes when it snaps. His stomach twisted at this discordant note; yet it felt familiar somehow. It happened again, and he looked around in confusion. What could possibly be making that sound? He could have sworn that he'd heard it before... And then it happened a third time, and his mouth opened in an O of horror as he remembered where he had heard it before. "They fall..." he whispered. "Oh, Almighty, they fall!"
  3. The dust from the thousands upon thousands of creatures mixed together and rose up in a black cloud. The whispers became louder and louder as the sky darkened. Draug cried out and ran for Jamie, struggling against the mental pressure of Sha-thoexis. He would not let her fall. He would not let her fall!
  4. Pheonix opened and closed his mouth in frustration and desperation, but no sound came out.
  5. Narrator Pheonix shook his head sadly while miming zipping his mouth shut.
  6. But it was an imposter. (The mustache had given it away.)
  7. Narrator Pheonix woke up, face pale. He has acted, he said- then covered his mouth in horror.
  8. All the Narrators suddenly realized that they hadn't seen him for a while.
  9. "That may be the case," continued Daa. "Without further information, that's what I would assume. However, we can't discard the idea entirely." Neil nodded in agreement as his seon continued to talk. What he said, he thought- although he didn't say it out loud. "If it is the Ghostbloods behind this- and I'm not saying it is- then it's most likely an attempt to improve their image. I saw something on the way here, something along the lines of 'the Ghostbloods will take care of this.' The recent fiasco with CotW hit their reputation hard; this could be something to make up for that."
  10. At that moment, Narrator Pheonix fell from the sky.
  11. "The Ghostbloods are a secretive organization. I would be surprised if there are not several things that they would keep from you, especially if they know you are in TUBA. Just because we are on friendly terms right now doesn't mean they don't have something to hide. If they were planning an secret offensive against us, they would hardly let you know, would they?"
  12. Daa buzzed in confusion. "If you don't know what it says, how do you know it would 'tie down' the Ghostbloods?"
  13. "What exactly does the treaty specify?" buzzed Daa. @Sherlock Holmes
  14. Draug swung his Saeblade through enemy after enemy, their black eyes burning and shriveling even as their corpses dissolved into black smoke. He could hear the whispers distinctly now, although they were still quite faint. He began cutting his way towards Jamie, who the people- no, the monsters- seemed to be focusing on. Is she alright? he wondered, worried. Her face was turned away from him, so he couldn't see what her response to the onslaught was. She was still standing on two feet, though, which was a probably a good sign. I hope she doesn't fall, he thought, worried. He'd seen it happen before- it wasn't pretty.
  15. "You are sure you can trust these sources?" asked Daa. "If so, then yes- I very much doubt that Voidus would declare himself opposed to something that he himself had created. That just isn't the DA way. The Ghostbloods, on the other hand..." he hummed, wary. "The premise of the guild may be assasination, but that's hardly going to be their only motive."
  16. Daa buzzed curiously. "If we don't know what the mist does, how do we know that the Ghostbloods or the DA wouldn't have a reason to make it?"
  17. Plus, he's half-noble, and he doesn't hate himself, so...
  18. @Dr. Dapper Draug heard Doc yelling about how the Unmade was inaccurate and frowned. The faces of these people should be from the Radiant's memories- there was no possible way for them to be inaccurate. No time to think about that now, he thought as the tide of black-eyed people advanced slowly towards them. There seemed to be more of them than could possibly have been there. Was it just him, or was the street getting bigger? Probably both, he thought, as he noticed Jamie appear out of the corner of his eye. I'll have to watch out for her, he thought, feeling a spike of concern. She's the one most at risk from all of this. Already he was beginning to hear the whispers faintly, even though the horde was still many yards away. By this point, Jamie would be able to hear them easily. It would only get worse as the dream progressed- although, hopefully, not as bad as it would be outside of Seattle.
