    The Witherlord floated in the Shadow, hovering in the near-invisible twilight between the pools of darkness littered throughout reality. Nothing happened here. It was a place for travel, no more. But something was about to happen here now. And it was for that reason that, suddenly, the Witherlord spoke up. "I know you're there, you know," he said. "I can feel you. Watching me." Silence. "Don't try and hide yourself from me. It won't work." Still, silence. "We need to talk, and you know it. Putting it off won't change anything." A long breath of wind that could have been a sigh whispered through the Witherlord's ears. "What," said Fate. "have you come to wish for, child?" "To wish for?" The Witherlord scoffed at the seemingly-empty air. "I did not come here to wish. You owe me a debt, Fate, and I've come to collect." "I recall no such-" "Don't lie to me." Fate fell silent for a long moment. "Very well," he said at last. "What is it that you want?" The Witherlord smiled a cruel smile, lost in the empty darkness. "Revenge."
