"Oh," said Vapor's father, his face falling slightly. Then he smiled, his eyes still pained. "Well, at least you survived." @Vapor "Guests?" spits the King contemptuously. "You forfeited your right to be considered a guest when you attacked me." His chains vanish in a flash of black, and he stands up. His eyes flash black, and nine pairs of holed eyes snap open. Rings of black encircle every single one. In a flash of green, Baalhan is frozen again. Aridith snaps his fingers and Santonio lurches to his feet, gasping. White light flares as four more greens are summoned from elsewhere. All four place a hand on Baalhan, channeling their transfixing light into him. At last they finish, stepping back as the light holding him frozen in place is released. "My servants have frozen the majority of your power," declares the king with a voice devoid of passion. "Now you will be punished." The two yellows raise their hands and let loose streams of blazing fire. For a few moments, its blinding light fills the chamber. Then it fades. Baalhan's skin is burned and blackened by the fire, and his face is twisted beyond all recognition. But even as the onlookers watch, sapphire flames have already begun to restore him. "You live," said Aridith. "For now. It is lucky for you that I respect strength." He waves a hand, and the four greens transfix the war god's form once more. "Serve me, and you will yet live for longer. If you do not..." He leans in close. "I have killed gods before," he says. "I will not hesitate to do so again." With that, he waves his hand, banishing Baalhan and his four guardians back to the dungeons.

"Your siblings," says Vapor's father suddenly. "Are they still alive, as well?" @Vapor The two greens fire at Baalhan simultaneously, freezing the man in place. Aridith snorts with displeasure. "Fool." he says derisively. His eyes flash black, and an a relentless force grabs hold of the war god's mind. Black rings flicker in the man's irises for a moment- but then, suddenly, they dissipate, and the mental pressure along with them. "A powerful mind," says Aridith. "Yes... I think I can find a use for you." With that, Baalhan vanishes in a flash of black light as Aridith sends him to the dungeons. @Nathrangking

"Vapor," he whispers, kneeling down by her side. "You're alive..." All of a sudden, he grabs her in an embrace.

Aridith nods at Santonio. "Do it," he says simply. Santonio raises his arm and clenches his fist. A wavering streak of whiteness appears in front of him, hovering in the air for a couple of seconds. Nothing appears from it. Santonio grunts, clenching harder- and slowly, a figure materializes from the whiteness. A man, wearing a white lab coat. Vapor's father. He sighs when he sees the King. "Really? Again? I've already told you, I-" "I have an offer," says the King. "Really," says Vapor's father, skeptical. "Well, it had better be better than your last offer." "It is." The King makes a motion with his hand. "Turn around and see for yourself." "It's here?" says Vapor's father, beginning to turn around. "What could..." He trails off as he sees Vapor. His eyes widen. "Is this real?" he whispers. Aridith laughs, a harsh bark without a trace of humor. "You think I could fool you? With that on you?" He gestures to the man's chest, where a purple gemstone hangs on a thong. --- In Fadran's mind, a voice draws a breath. "Humastuk," hisses the blue, and even though the language is unfamiliar it's clear it's a curse word. "The prize is the girl. This is bad." @Channelknight Fadran --- "You said that she was dead," says Vapor's father, his voice hoarse. "Did you... lie?" "You know I can't lie to you, either. I thought she was dead." Aridith glanced at Vapor. "Some power hid her from the sight of my blues." All of a sudden, one of the party bolts for the door. He gets two steps before green light from both of the holed standing next to the King slams into him, freezing him in place. An orange holed leaps across the room and grabs Jek's arm as the green light dissolves, bringing him to the king. In the man's hand is a crumpled piece of paper, which the orange rips free and hands it to Aridith. Aridith turns to the blue holed to the left him, who is suddenly looking utterly bewildered. "What?" he manages. "How is that... that can't be... surely it's not possible that...?" The blue shoots a confused glance at Vapor's father, then to Jek, then to Vapor. His eyes widen. Aridith looks at Vapor with interest. "Curious," he murmurs. He stands up off his throne and takes a step towards her, waving a dismissive finger at the orange holed holding Jek. With a grunt, the orange shoves him across the room towards the group. Vapor leans over and whispers something in his ear, a smile on her face. Aridith paces slowly towards her as Santonio gives his verdict, arriving at her side as the white says the final word. The King bends over and whispers to Vapor. "The king is an unstable man; be careful what you say around him, or even around his servants. I only hope that someday our daughter will find the truth." His black eyes glint with... something. Ambition? Greed? Curiosity? "Interesting words indeed." He stands up. "Show them," he commands. Behind him, both blues close their eyes and take the hand of the purple standing next to them. And suddenly, the scene changes. Vapor's father sits at a table in a room half-broken, half-burned. The watchers can feel the man's tiredness, his desperation, as he writes a note to give to the one person left whom he and his wife can trust. He knows- "What?" exclaims Vapor's father and the vision grinds to a halt. "Was that me?" His voice is incredulous. "How... is that a vision of the future? I thought that was impossible!" "No," says the King, his eyes still on Vapor. "It was a vision of the past. Just not the true one." @Vapor

Rule 303. Players shall alternate in clockwise order, taking one whole turn apiece. All players begin with zero points, and their total score can never drop below zero.
