  1. Votes: Elkanah (2) - Araris, Elkanah Gears (4) - Sart, Joe, Vapor, Illwei Vapor (4) - Matrim, Elandera, Gears, Sorana It seems there is a tie, which seems unfavorable. In the interest of ensuring a lynch, Gears. Between the two candidates up for vote, they give me the more elim gut vibe. --- Borzen Oeszno awoke in the middle of a forest and immediately knew he was asleep. He could tell he was asleep because of the trees, which were colored vividly in... well, every color except blue. It was certainly a striking sight. Stories had told him that was the way the world had been before the Lord Ruler, when the land had still been alive. (Personally, he wondered what the trees had against blue.) That was sub-optimal. Today was his first day in the Steel Ministry; it was no time to be sleepwalking. Much as he liked being in the forest, he needed to have all of his attention focused on the task at hand. (Although, really- why blue?) He reached for his forearms, where his bracers usually were. To his surprise, they were absent. That was very odd. That had never happened before. They couldn't have been removed from his person- he'd surely have woken up if they had. (I mean, some of the leaves were purple. It wasn't like nature was incapable of rendering that end of the spectrum.) He checked his pack. No bracers. This was quite concerning. Without the bracers, he had no idea how he was supposed to wake himself up. Eventually the bracers would fill up and snap him out of it, sure, but that could take days. In the meantime, he'd be stuck viewing the world through his brain's strange dream-like interpretation. (Maybe it had all been used up on the sky.) Oh, well. Hopefully it wouldn't be a problem.
  2. Honestly, it was enough to make anyone extremely perturbed.
  3. "Uh..." The samurai scratched his head, thinking desperately of a good excuse.
  4. "...what?" Nya shook her head. "I... I have no idea what any of those words mean."
  5. Jared tumbled through the emptiness outside, blade locked with his opponent. I... will... finish... you...! he said through gritted teeth. The old man only grinned. He mouthed a single word. Singularity. All of a sudden, the scene changed. Fadran, Grace, Jared- everyone, hurtling towards a wall made of light. Beyond it, just barely, outlined figures were visible. No matter, growled Jared. You still can't break through on your own! Oh, but I'm not on my own, mouthed the old man. I have you. With a grunt, he ground the blades together. Jared gasped as pain surged through him. A surge of stygian light struck the barrier... ...and it broke.
  6. What happened to the ostrich was too terrible to describe.
  7. Nya grabbed ahold, eyes wide with fear. Jared growls. "You're not getting away from me this time!" Inverted red light flashed as he swung his Silent Blade. It was met by a blue-veined blade of steel, sparking with the blackness of pure destruction. Mr. Larue senior gritted his teeth as he held off the onslaught with Jaxevist's blade. "Why! Won't! You! Just! Die!" snarled Jared, bringing his blade down again and again- only to find it blocked every time. The old man panted as Jared's attacks pushed him backwards around the cabin. He snuck a glance sideways at Grace, and to his dismay saw her inverted lightning almost at full power. They weren't close enough to the singularity yet- if she destroyed the ship now, they would likely all perish. Desperate, he closed his eyes and prayed to Fate for a miracle. There was a loud scream, and a flash of red. Grace gasped, stumbling to the side, her power faltering. Jared's eyes widened. "A-Abigail?" he whispered, turning as if a trance towards the origin of the scream. Vapor's grandfather seized the opportunity to go on the offensive. Jared gave a grunt as he turned back to face the old man- but it was obvious that whatever had happened had shook him. Just... a few... more... moments... thought Vapor's grandfather. No! cried Grace at the duo. I... will... not... let... you... escape. With a deep breath, she slammed both hands into the floor of the rocket. The metal shuddered and gave one final groan as the combined forces of Grace and gravity tore it to smithereens. @Channelknight Fadran
  8. The ostrich, terrified, stuck its head in the sand.
