  1. Y begins to summon angry winds. "Wait!" says X. "We've come to bargain."
  2. So, says Jared. What's up with this "plan" that you guys have? @Enter a username
  3. Sure. X's avatar came to a screeching halt. "She went in there," he panted, pointing at the door. Agonizing illusions.
  4. Eternal Book One Hello, and welcome! This is a project that me and @Shard of Thought have been working on for a long time. All feedback is appreciated! Prologue
  5. Decrin slunk around the group at the foot of the airship, observing carefully. "Profiles match the company of the targets," he murmured into his headset. "But no sign of the targets themselves." "Could they be in the airship, perhaps?" "Unlikely, although I suppose it's possible. I saw a couple go in, but none matched the targets' profiles." He paused. "Sir... there's something else. The company, they have a mime with them." The voice over the air swore. "You don't suppose that...?" "Hopefully not, sir. Why stay with them if he'd already secured the targets?" "Pray he hasn't," muttered Decrin's commander. "If the Fallen King learned that we let the mimes carry off the targets..."
  6. "We need some kind of boost," panted X's avatar. "Come on, Narrators!"
  7. Jeffery watches anxiously from the trees. Nya watches anxiously from the air. ***

  9. When you get back from a brief hiatus.
  10. X's avatar blinked, waking up from a momentary space-out. "She's over there," he said, gesturing towards the wood. "But she'll be further soon."
  11. Long ago, man sought to be as gods. All-knowing. All-powerful. Immortal.
For their pride, they were destroyed. In their pride, they destroyed human civilization- and nearly all of humanity along with it.
But humanity has a nasty habit of forgetting the past. And those who cannot remember the past are doomed to repeat it.

  12. "Well," said X's avatar, "the first step is catching up to her."
  13. "I suppose we might as well try," said X's avatar, resigned. "But she's the one with all the power. And she knows it."
  14. "You think she'll trust us that much?" said X's avatar drily. "I did just try to betray her."
  15. "No," said X's avatar. "Plans never work here anyway."
  16. X's avatar looked thoughtful. "You know... that might work. Maybe." For a moment, sadness flickered in the eyes of X's avatar.
  17. X's avatar sighed. "But she's still going to have my power," he said glumly. "I... don't want to lose that."
  18. X's avatar shook his head. "Nothing. The only thing she wants is to get out of this place."
  19. "Stop it!" cried X's avatar with irritation. "Those aren't very helpful ideas."
  20. Y skipped backwards, effortlessly dodging the blade. "Not that much," countered X's avatar. "I mean, she doesn't like much of anything. She hates this place." He sighed. "Do you have any ideas?"
  21. "Well, I don't have magic anymore," X's avatar pointed out. "And I doubt Y will willingly relinquish her power for anything."
