  1. In the corner of the bar, a woman stands up. A pair of darkened glasses were slip into a pocket, revealing a pair of piercing green eyes. Purpose-filled eyes. She has been chasing her target for over a year now. She is certain he does not know she is on his trail, and yet he has somehow managed to elude her up to this point. But no longer. The hubbub of the tavern fades into a distant murmur as she focuses on her quarry. Jared Ecnelis. A unique man, and a dangerous one. Like herself, he is on a hunt- searching for his long-lost sister. A fool's errand. She has it on good authority that the woman he seeks died many years ago. She is certain he knows it, too; apparently, he has chosen to ignore it. Perhaps she is doing him a a favor by ending his fruitless search. Her blade forms in her hand, the wind curling in on itself to form an almost glass-like substance. It makes no noise- even the slightest of disturbances may betray her to her quarry, stripping away the advantage of surprise. Without further deliberation, she makes her move, stabbing the blade towards the unsuspecting Jared.

Through the leaves, a strange creature peered back. It was covered in bird-like feathers and had a pair of appendages that seemed to be wings of some sort, but ended in three fingered hands. Its eyes were solid cyan, seeming unusually large for its face. It repeated the chortling sound as it saw Trylle.

Above Trylle, the trees rustled. A strangle sound- almost like a chortle- could faintly be heard.
  4. Dr. Who Octopus awoke with a splitting headache. Groaning, he disconnected his interface from his main computer. Apparently, even a complete reboot hadn't been enough to fix the damage. A mordite blade. How in the world had one shown up here, of all places? But perhaps it wasn't too surprising, given that Gerald had been involved... Gerald. Dr. Who Octopus clenched his tentacles. That cursed squid, foiling his plans time and time again. But this time, he'd gone too far. Dr. Who Octopus was going to take over the cosmos. And this time, no squid would stand in his way.

As the group splits up, the leaves rustle further. The sound moves, following one of the subgroups.
  6. Because no one could figure out how to get there.
  7. "Who is this person?" whispered Gerald.
