  1. "Can I have the vial?" asked Grace. @Channelknight Fadran
  2. 62, the paper glitched. How many days is it until you die?
  3. The Witherlord sighed. "Very well. Yes. And your friends, too. Now, answer the questions."
  4. The knife shattered harmlessly into dust on the windowsill as Grace transitioned into the Enchanted Realm.
  5. Thorns grew from the vines, puncturing the skin. "Answer the question," commanded the Witherlord, eyes pit-black.
  6. Grace frowned. The girl had moved exactly when Grace transitioned. And she was a Space Mystic. Could she...? Well, the point was moot for now. Grace couldn't reach the window sill even in the Enchanted Realm, so she'd have to try something different. But if the girl could simply teleport away from any attack, what could she do? If her power works anything like the Orb, I should be able to ride along with her if I can grab her, Grace thought. But how to get her within reach? Well, maybe if she jumped around enough she'd end up on the ground again. Grace conjured a half-imagined knife and threw it at the girl, hoping that the projectile would provoke her.
  7. Grace approached the girl in the Enchanted Realm, then switched back in front of her and made a grab for the vial in her hand. @Mystic Syn
  8. The vines dug into Moni's skin. "Answer the question," ordered the Witherlord.
  9. How many roads must the city build in order to satisfy the demand for cheeseburgers?
  10. Grace narrowed her eyes, looking the girl up and down through her glasses. The cloth on her glove tightened slightly. Mutts? She exhaled sharply, trying to refocus. That liquid- if it was an antidote to the injuries that the Deathbringer's knife caused, it was imperative that she obtain it. A weapon capable of inflicting such a deathly curse would be too dangerous to carry around without a way to reverse its effects. Not that I would carry that around, she thought to herself, hurriedly. I don't want to kill people. Unless I have to. But just to be safe, it would be a good idea to get the antidote. Oh, and to heal Ji, too. She'd show this pureborn brat what mutts could do. Silently she slipped out of sight and stepped into the Enchanted Realm.
  11. "Finish the survey," the Witherlord instructed.
  12. A quarkbeast that was the exact mirror image of it appeared with a squawk in front of it. With an inexorable pop, the two were drawn together in a surprisingly anticlimactic explosion. Only the survey paper was left behind, though whole as ever. The text writhed. The number 63 flashed briefly.
  13. "Take out your survey - the piece of paper in your pocket - and see."
  14. The Witherlord snapped his fingers. "In fact, I do have some questions for you," he replied.
  15. The Witherlord looked thoughtful. "So that's where you went," he muttered. "Clever."
  16. Grace moved to pick up the Deathgranter's knife.
  17. Grace said a quick prayer of thanks to Ko'ad and transitioned back into the Physical Realm.
