  1. He might have had his own powers, but a bulk of the energy that makes up the skeins is from the luxsprites. Otherwise the binding would not work. The dream seed would not be destroyed if it were to be corrupted, whatever happened to the vessel. "Then, one day, it was shattered. With it's destruction, the luxsprites too were shattered."
  2. Alright. They most likely would not have been born with the powers they have. The corruption would not be allowed to spread. The corrupted seed would be severed. Above the table appeared a floating crystal, translucent as diamond. "Long, long ago," the Knight said, "this crystal was the heart of the luxsprite empire."
  3. They would be aeons old, of course, since they would have been shattered at the Dies Luxfrang. The question is, what are your plans for what they were before they were shattered?
  4. I don't think they would have been able to enter... They would have had to be shattered before the thread existed, when the luxsprites fell. "Or he could corrupt that power for his own usage."
  5. "Ah," replied the consultant. "Yes... We do know of this, though we call it a different name." The words DREAM SEED flushed on the screen. "Powerful concentrations of prismatic energy that form the origin of new universes... or the remaking of current ones. Indeed, with one one can do nearly anything. But." The consultant tapped his finger. "You underestimate the Witherlord." What is your plan for the Skeins' past?
  6. The Consultant tapped the table and sighed. "Sorry... We haven't gotten our system fully operational yet." "Not a mortal," the Knight replied. "What, do you have the memories of a mortal?" I would explain or forever hold your peace.
  7. Grace stabbed the Mystic with the blood knife. Where it touched withered away as the blood inside was drawn out.
  8. "Not you," the Knight replied. "Someone like you. An elemental spirit, formed from a shattered whole." A consultant pulled up information about Boundless Beginnings on a holographic display in the middle of the table.
  9. The Knight sighed. "Look, a long time ago-" He broke off for a moment. "I knew someone, okay?" he said. "Someone like you." The stuff about the Boundless Beginning would have only happened after a long pause. He interrupted before that. I would be curious to hear you explain it, however.
  10. "Elemental energies include that power," the Knight replied. "Specifically, yours." He pointed to the aqueous skein.
  11. "He has his own chronokinetic abilities," replied the Knight. "We will need all of yours to hold him at bay."
  12. "That will not be necessary," replied the Knight. "I will be the one to finish him." "We do," replied the Knight, "but even that will hold only a fraction of his power at bay."
  13. "We believe we have obtained a solution to one of these problems, and have made good progress on the other," the consultant continued. "However, it appears as if one of our number is late..." He talked off as a soft wind blew. The entrance darkened slightly as the Knight entered the room.
  14. "With the discovery of yourselves, another relic of the lost luxsprites, new hope has awakened." "Two questions remain between us and victory. How can we ensure the Witherlord will not interrupt your ritual before it's conclusion? and how and who will wield the blade that will finish him once and for all?"
  15. "Welcome, honored guests," replied a consultant. "We have gathered here today to plan the downfall of the Witherlord." "Since the disappearance of Xinoehp, the last luxsprite, hopes have been slim that the King of Shadows would ever be destroyed." You shall see.
  16. Grace popped into the Enchanted Realm and moved to stab from behind.
  17. Seven chairs sat empty as the consultants waited for the skeins.
  18. These terms were accepted. The consultant bowed. "In the meantime," he declared, "we will search for information on your history."
  19. Well... "The Witherlord cannot be killed by any ancillary substance, including mageforged unobtanium." ( Ancillary meaning non fundamental.) Any specific substance would have happened in the past, before any plot events that have been recorded here. If it's precedent you seek, you can look back at the first time the Witherlord arose, which I believe was about page 600 or so. Luxite was hailed as the sole solution to the problem back then. The envelope contained an invitation to the realm of the consultants for a planning meeting.
  20. "It's been tried. Just about everything has. The only way to kill the Witherlord is with luxite or mordite. And luxite is no more. But we shall cross that bridge at a later date." The consultant offered an envelope.
  21. "I have heard legends of such," the consultant replied. "Indeed... This could be exactly what we need. With his power restrained, the Witherlord will have no recourse against a mordite blade."
  22. Clearly, it was possible, since it had happened. The strange thing was, the luxsprites had been utterly wiped out by the withergeists an eternity before. There had been only one survivor, and he had left the last time the Witherlord rose.
  23. "Luxsprite energy," the consultant in a hushed tone. "How is this possible?"
