  1. Grace conjured a flask and began filling it with white liquid from the hilt of her knife.
  2. The Knight gave Nameless a dirty look. "You're Nameless. How could you be anything else?"
  3. The Knight growled in frustration and made a grab for the converter. "Well, you never would have created the converter without trying!"
  4. "What? No, that's not what I-" "But you didn't!" exclaimed the wanderer.
  5. "You donate your equipment to us. The experts. That converter... it would be the perfect weapon with which to destroy the Witherlord. In the proper circumstances, of course." -- "More like universes," the wanderer replied. "Although annihilation was usually a pretty tame result, all things considered. Once a universe was turned entirely into-"
  6. "We're all in the same boat, you know," the Knight replied. "Clearly your plan has failed. Why not help us with ours?" "I don't think calling them only explosions does them justice."
  7. "I can't promise that," the Knight replied. "The Witherlord isn't the only entity we want to keep X away from." "It tends to involve a lot of explosions."
  8. "We can't let her go now- that could ruin everything! We have to catch the Witherlord by surprise in order to kill him, and if he had X's powers that would be impossible." "Well, luxite is really really rare. And the different fundamental substances... don't usually play well together."
  9. "Well, you'd need all the energy in the skeins to do any converting of significance. And even then, you'd need a mountain of prismite to make enough luxite to kill the Witherlord." The Knight extended a hand, shooting the Wanderer a glare. "Look, how about you give it to us? We'll be able to use it much better than you would."
  10. The Knight glanced at the sword. "... Huh." He seemed begrudgingly impressed. "Well, there is some ordered light energy, but it's so weak it's almost undetectable. I suppose you did find some sort of luxite, then?" As he spoke, the Wanderer's eyes got wider and wider. By the time he had finished, she was visibly quivering with excitement. "Do you realize what this means?" she burst, seemingly to no one in particular. "No one has ever managed to transmute anything into luxite before! We thought it was only possible via luxsprite!" The Knight seemed slightly miffed by the Wanderer's outburst.
  11. "The Witherlord can control all chaotic-dark energy. Mordite can kill him, but he would never let it."
  12. "How do you plan to prevent the Witherlord from simply co-opting the mordite within the blade?"
  13. "His greatest lieutenants," the Knight replied.
  14. The Knight appeared. "Well," he remarked after a moment, walking over to the sword. "You managed not to kill yourself. Impressive."
  15. Light suddenly dawned in the consultant's eyes, followed swiftly by horror. "You mean- you're combining- but, but-"
  16. "Silence... Purity? What in the name of light are you talking about?"
  17. "How- what-" The consultant seemed quite flummoxed.
  18. "Nameless," warned the consultant. "Explain yourself."
  19. The consultant raised a hand, reflexively conjuring a Silent shield. "A sword?"
  20. The consultant blinked, noticing the machine at last. "Ah... care to explain?"
  21. "We would also prefer that it not become necessary," the consultant replied. "However, we have given you several warnings." The wall seemed to be thicker by the moment.
  22. The consultant sighed and snapped his fingers. A wall sprang up sealing Moni off in her own room. "Please do not turn this into a fight," he declared neutrally.
