  1. "Oh, no- I care about you very much indeed." The Queen sighed theatrically. "If that is your choice, then so be it." The power in the air reached a crescendo.
  2. The guards fought back, their positions defensive, refusing to give up even an inch of ground. "Last chance, child," the Queen called out as the power built further. "Surrender or suffer. Your choice." The clerk blinked. "Wow! I mean- that's great!" He fumbled under the desk and retrieved some sort of notebook. "Uh, what time would work for your induction? Most evenings this week are open."
  3. Well I forgot about yesterday. Oops. Nerdy will die today!
  4. Hope neither of you looked for too long because they don't exist Edit: As far as timelines go, the Nameless island is chronologically asynchronous until a worldwide event happens.
  5. "And what do you call this... assault on my throne room, except for an attack on me?" The soldier reacted quickly as Miyako came into his field of view, raising his sword to block her approach. The hairs on the back of their necks began to stand up. The air filled with a quiet power.
  6. The Queen's power ripped at Miyako's stream, trying to tear it apart- or at the very least, deflect it. "Because this is my island," replied the Queen. "And you attacked me. So you must be punished." "Will it happen again?" challenged Anikel.
  7. "There is no difference," insisted the Queen confidently.
  8. "Surrender," the Queen commanded again, her voice harder. Up ahead, Miyako could see the silhouettes of soldiers through the mist, standing at the ready.
  9. "Done," replied the Queen. The few soldiers that had remained in the cloud pulled back, leaving them in the cloud alone.
  10. "Enough of this," snapped the Queen. "I do not wish to kill you. You do not wish to die. I am sure we can come to an agreement."
  11. The Queen let out a huff. "This is my kingdom, to do with as I please."
  12. Anikel frowned. "So... what does that mean for her? Will she be alright?" Yerik muttered thanks and struggled out of the remaining metal. After a moments hesitation he took it and stuck it in his pocket. "My soldiers are not trying to kill you, child. They never have been. They are simply defending me. You are the ones who have attacked, without reason and without provocation."
  13. "What in the stones does that mean?" interrogated Anikel. The threads did indeed break as Hyron cut at them, but Yerik remained firmly attached to the ceiling under his own personal gravity. He coughed. "Um. Thanks." "I have no desire to fight you, warriors," called the voice of the Queen. "To snuff out a life in such a violent way... it is a horrible thing."
  14. Miyako stumbled across the thones, but they were empty. The very tip of the seat poked up above the cloud, giving her a view of Yerik tied up and dangling from the ceiling. "Travelers!" the Queen's voice called through the mist. "Warriors!" Her voice was silk and honey. "You have wandered far, and fought much. Surely, you must be tired!" "Yes," replied Anikel in a neutral tone. He leaned in close, lowering his voice so that only the pair of them could hear. "Tell me, Wanderer; why does my horse have fur?"
  15. The soldiers fought with perilous efficiency, never a step out of place. Their numbers seemed inexhaustible, as did the gradually thickening mist. Yerik pushed his way out of the top of the artificial cloud the Queen had created into clear air. He looked up (down?) and could see shapes moving in the fog, if only barely. Where are they? he wondered, scanning his eyes across the roiling mass of white. All of a sudden, cold metal gripped his ankles. He gasped, looking down (up?) at the metal stands pouring out of a crack in the wall. By the time his mind had processed what was happening, they had already encased his entire lower body in threads of gold. He struggled, shouting, but he was as trapped as a fly in a web. On the ground, the Queen's soldiers abruptly retreated, fading back into the cloud.
  16. Yerik exhaled, determination entering his face. "Staying." The room was filled with thick, whirling mist, making it hard to see what was going on. Soldiers poured in from every side; for each one that Hyron knocked over or tied up, two more came to take their place. Yerik ran up the wall towards the ceiling, trying to get above the cloud that the Queen had called up.
  17. Nah, I just had a flight all day. Haven't had time to reread the thread but there's three hours to rollover so *shrug* I'll vote Kas for now.
  18. Geff ducked to the ground as the room filled with mist, obscuring visibility. "They're in the walls!" came the voice of the princess. "I'll catch them for you, Mother."
