  1. "What, do you want a ride?" the inspector asked, appearing in the room. "Does nobody know how to get there by themselves?"
  2. "Honestly!" raged the void-eyed man. "It's like no one even listens any more. Well, listen to this! The inspector is going to take me to the castle, where I will claim both the plotblade and that pathetic girl's Narration. Then I will destroy you all!"
  3. "Really?" the void-eyed man declared in exasperation. "You missed my whole speech about how I was going to get to the plotblade first and destroy you all?"
  4. "Concerning? Ha!" The void-eyed man leaned in closer. "You haven't seen anything yet. Anything. I've been going easy on you. Get in my way for real... well." Darkness stirred in his empty eyes. "You'll see something then."
  5. "Yeah, and I would have kept it too, if it weren't for that meddling guide. And I suppose you didn't leave her to die." He grinned. "Good. I'm not done with her yet."
  6. "Well it wouldn't take him this long unless- don't tell me there are more of you?" He squinted. "Speaking of which, where's that girl I stole Narration from? Did you leave her to die?"
  7. "Yeah. Half an hour ago. He said he had to go deal with some 'noise' or something. And then you showed up, so presumably he brought you here."
  8. "Well, you'll have to wait for him to show up... where is he, anyways? He was supposed to be back half an hour ago!"
  9. "The challenge you're about to face!" the void-eyed man declared. "The inspector doesn't care if you're too slow. He'll keep asking questions anyways!"
  10. "The questions. You get a second to answer. No time more!"
  11. "But right now?" pressed the void-eyed man.
  12. "Oh, nothing. But you didn't answer the question! Ambivalent doesn't count."
  13. "Hah! You should just give up now!" exclaimed the void-eyed man triumphantly. "You'll never survive with that attitude!"
  14. The man narrowed his sockets. "Well? Do you?"
  15. "Hah! Guess it's too scary for you." The void-eyed man folded his arms smugly.

  17. The void-eyed man's mouth opened wide. "The kind that go through your mind and take information before you even understand what's happening."
  18. The inspector sprinkled some sand to make her tired.
  19. "Mostly just ask questions. So many questions." "Great!" said the inspector, relieved. "Just fall asleep to follow your companions."
  20. "Inclusive or!" the inspector exclaimed desperately. "Er- to be clear, I don't eat people that are neither alive nor dead, either. Look, generally speaking I don't eat at all!"
  21. The inspector rubbed his temples. "No. I don't eat anybody, alive or dead!" This made even less sense, as the inspector was not currently in unreal space. The guide appears in front of the character. You are putting great strain on continuity, she declares severely. Cease before you are sanctioned.
  22. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the inspector, this was completely impossible. Thus, they were erased from reality. "Don't be ridiculous," grumbled the void-eyed man. "I mean, yes, in a way. It's not like we can't leave." "Oh for crying out- he's still breathing!"
  23. "Goodness!" The inspector gave Sequence a shocked expression. "I would never! Murder is highly immoral. They are merely asleep."
