  1. There was a statue with its hand wrapped around the dagger. Through the loudspeaker came the recorded voice of the inspector. "Patients should be advised that physical violence of any type is strictly prohibited within the confines of the Observatory and useless in unreal space regardless."
  2. On the other side of the room, someone sprung to their feet. "You!" hissed the void-eyed man. "So you figured it out."
  3. Suddenly, he was in what looked suspiciously like a doctor's waiting room.
  4. A sudden feeling of drowsiness overtook him.
  5. "I- look, it's not that hard! Just fall asleep. Your physical body will remain behind, and your mind will be projected into unreal space."
  6. "No- Oh, for goodness sakes." muttered the inspector, reaching down and pulling the brave adventurer out of the quicksand. "Careful! You're not going to get anywhere just by walking, you know. It's called unreal space for a reason."
  7. "Yes, of course. I live in unreal space most of the time, after all. And service the castle on a regular basis. It makes no sense for me to know how to enter such." The inspector handed Tocf the sheet. "But by all means, go ahead. I'd love to see you enter unreal space this way."
  8. "How could you possibly have started your quest without knowing how to enter unreal space?" The inspector shakes his head, as if such a skill should be common knowledge among everyone. "How did you plan to get into the castle?"
  9. "Somehow I doubt these will work," the inspector remarks. "They are, ah... interesting." The inspector cleared his throat and read from the sheet. "Spin around ten times with your eyes closed chanting 'Owa Tagu Siam'."
  10. "I have excellent eyesight," remarked the inspector, tapping the glasses fused into his face.
  11. "You made this up, didn't you," remarked the inspector drily.
  12. The inspector took a look over the papers and raised an eyebrow.
  13. The inspector paused. "You mean, you don't know?"
  14. "You are all aware of how to enter unreal space, I assume?"
  15. "Anyways. Here we are." The inspector stopped in front of a spot of ground that looked like every other spot of ground in the area.
  16. "Not possible, I'm afraid. Well, unless you count that one way. But that doesn't count."
  17. "An author, hm?" The inspector scribbled furiously. "Is he also looking for involvement in 'the plot'?"
  18. "And who is your backer?" asks the inspector, setting off through the dead brush.
  19. "And what are those limits?" the inspector asked. "While you're answering that, everyone follow me."
  20. "Hm," pondered the inspector. "They have good taste."
  21. "Finally. Someone with a name." The inspector wrote down the name on his clipboard. "And which Narrator sent you here?"
  22. "Don't you wander off," the inspector shot at the adventurer, noticing his restlessness. "I'm not done with you yet. This work is very important, you know!"
  23. "Cease your interference!" snapped the inspector towards the disembodied voice. "Unless you wish me to report you all to Onyx."
