Is it just me, or is this the dumbest late policy to ever be invented?

Late and makeup work will not be taken for credit in this course. Students need to prepare for the demands of the 21st Century workplace where deadlines are extremely important. All deadlines set throughout this course are non-negotiable and are expected to be met by all students, regardless of other circumstances.

  So if you get cancer, and have to do kemo, where you are so sick even sitting up is almost out of your ability you still have to meet deadlines challanging for people who are actually healthy?
