  1. If he finds the right partner, there'll be no messing up. Sanderson has ownership of world and the other author writes within the world.
  2. Do you all think Sanderson should partner up with some good author to add color to Cosmere? For me a huge Malazan fan the advantage of having both Erikson and ICE churning out books is that I have a constant and regular supply of novels without too much waiting time. And Cosmere is at par with Malazan world in terms of scope and characters. Vast and mostly unknown yet. Perhaps when Sanderson continues with Stormlight, we have another author writing novellas and prequels? I'd love to know more on history of Rashek (Mistborn) or even events leading to the shattering etc. Just so I have a constant new content to immerse myself
  3. @InvocationGreat post. I forgot about the Rathalas segment. Though I'd have assume those would be standard in all wars. Strangely not. Again the concentration on Navani is a bit odd. There should be capable people in other kingdoms who have made progress. I get a feeling Sanderson is giving way too much concentration to make focus on his primary characters at expense of everybody else. As to fabrials being the system, it is very derived as most wartime fabrials can only be used by shardbearers, I need to think of this more.
  4. I live weapons. Was always curious about the weaponry involved in this. The types of weapons I recall are: - Normal weapons used by common soldiers. - Normal shardblades used by likes of Adolin and such. - Honor blades (x10). - Radiant Shardweapons (which I assume can transform into different slice, stab and throw) weapons i.e. spear, knife, sword, axe, halbred etc - Fabrials weapons like Shardbow and half-ahard shields which are just normal weapons dialed up in power using Fabrials. They have bows and but don't recall mention the fact ballista or catapult types. As to Fabrials looks like there is a steampunk angle to it. They can really create and used Fabrials for vareity of purposes but only Navani seems to pioneer in this. If this is available to non surgebinders, wonder why there are not more contraptions than lights and spanreeds. A Fabrial oriented magic system of its own...how would it look like? Also what voidbinding techniques have been disclosed till now?
  5. Odium escapes and kills Cultivation Dalinar and Co trapped within Damnation trying to find a way to defeat Odium. Roshar suffers desolation. Venli does her best to protect even humans. <gap> They find way out and escape Damnation. Team up with Venli. Dalinar ascends to Godhood/honor, maybe gets Cultivation powers too. (similar to what Harmony did) Odium defeated and flees. (bot not splintered...so may comeback later)
  6. Or a perfect wife...which in my very personal experience....is a paradox. So yeah!
  7. The part where she buys clothes and says she's really naked in a spren way...is as far as I go from away from being sibling talk. I don't buy the spren romance ether....but imo, she'd make the perfect gf for Kaladin. Connected spiritually and she's the perfect fun emotional counter to a brooding Kaladin.
  8. You don't share a spiritual bond with your therapist either
  9. In the scene where Azure, Adolin and Kaladin do the Kata together in shaedsmar, she tells something that "Warn him that I'm looking for him" in reference to Zahel. A bit later she says she's hunting a criminal and later says her bounty is a sword. I took that as someone stole Nightblood from her and she's looking for him and get it back.
  10. Isn't she 13...Surely not in a few years?
  11. I doubt worldhop is a basic. But yeah, would love to know more on Vivienna and why she wants Nightblood.
  12. Vasher was one if the 5 scholars....but how did Vivenna worldhop? Presume Vasher bought her along, but how did the trio separate? Did he give it to Vivenna who lost it and subsequently searching for it?
  13. The 4th ideal grants Shardplate, so I'd expect it to be something like: "I'll protect even at cost of my own life" Or something like that. If you get ready to sacrifice your own life...then you get additional protection via plate.
  14. @What's a Seawolf? My thoughts exactly. The KR abandoning the world due to knowledge of recreance is really dumb at so many levels. In modern terms, I'd equate this to European occupation if Asia and Africa. They destroyed local culture and used local populace as slaves or near to that for their own benefit. Now decades later, the emotions have softened and a changed society operates as new structure. I'd assume same applies in Roshar. Even if humans we're the Invaders, the KR sould have offered some sort olive branch and found what went wrong in old planet and try to finally way to cooperatively survive. They now don't want to kill Parshmen....but at same time allowing Humans to die for something they we're not even aware of is even more dumbass thing to do. Perhaps the Spren committed suicide due to overload of dumbassery. Rlain come back to bridge 4 after spying for opposition and this would be the norm. You can argue that Odium manipulated stuff but still the actions of KR is just escapism at it's best.
  15. Did a search and didn't find a similar thread. Apologies if done before. Doesn't have to be physically similar to book description, just who'd best fit the role. Moash - Bryan Cranston Shallan - Julia Roberts Jasnah - Katee Sackhoff Rock - Rock Odium - Clint Eastwood
  16. Yeah, it's a left field pick. For me personally, Jasnah and Shallan deserve mention for being refreshing strong women characters. Lift and Sebarial are my favorite and by far the most fun, along with Syl. Moash being one of the best antagonist characters I've read recently. Everyone else pales.
  17. As if Jasnah cares... No offense, but Jasnah is the last person I'd count to have a political marriage. She has always been her own and a bad example (Amaram words). I think they'll fall in love. Opposites attract.
  18. Lift is the best written character in the series till date. She's just refreshing and so different from the repetitive hate/honor themes that premate every other major chapter. Sebarial follows close. A kid with powers....it's perfectly written and immensely enjoyable. My vote for best written character in series goes to Lift.
  19. Not right now, but at the end of series. I'd go for Dalinar and Navani. Navani dies and Dalinar follows in a heroic self-sacrificing way. Teft and Rock as second choices. Again, heroic battle deaths. Sorry if this has been done before. Been some time.
  20. The interaction between Adolin and Kaladin in WoR puts them in good mates category firmly. No romance. Kaladin will get involved with Jasnah. A cold woman and a passionate man.....you can feel it waiting to happen. Though, late in the series. Like both single as of now.
  21. None. Which is a point of contention for Sanderson for me. Jezrien and Elkohar we're both peripheral characters and I didn't have any emotional investment. Eshonai, I admit I had hopes for in future novels though her death felt way premature to have a lasting impact. They should have let her achieve something important before killing her.
  22. If you had the decision to make a absolutely random plot twist to the story, what would you do? For me, Kill Dalinar (and Navani) off. Or at least have a twist where Odium teleports them to a different dimension. Adolin to take their place with Shallan. Adolin as bondsmith....that I'd like to see. What would you like to see? I'm sure there would be many who like Adolin dead son the can see Shalladin links.... :-)
  23. There's a big chunk missing around just before WoK started Why was Gavilar killed? What was goal of Sons of Honor? Why did they want old gods returned? Any why were Parshendi trying to stop them? Did they really risk desolation again trying to bring Radiants back? Was Gavilar evil or misguided in attempting that? And Parshendi have longer memories than Humans or have better grasp of their history, so it'll also serve as means to get more knowledge on desolations and viodbringers of the olden times. Sanderson gave very vegue answers on whether Parshendi can become Surgebinders and did not rule it out. So we may see Eshonai as some kind of early attempt at bonding a spren. There's lots that can be tied in to Eshonai's backstory.
